The Loot System Detects What You Already Have....
Yeah that's basically not true at all, unless my fire team is extremely unlucky. I got my 4th pair of Raid boots tonight. Still no chest piece or helm. And every one else is in the same boat.
Was that whole "loot system detects what you've already gotten" just made up or is it working as intended?
Also, who came up with Moldering Shards? Slap them please. It actually wouldn't be TOO terrible of an idea if it worked properly. Two times in a row now my "second drop" has been, what's that? You guessed it. 2 Moldering Shards! So I basically spent 20 shards to get two back. It's so genius.
EDIT: Bungie, the responses here are proof. We hope you're taking a look at this.

It does and gives you more of what you already have. You can never have enough of the same guns and armor.

Got 3 gauntlets so far. To make things worse, the first one was the best. Yet to see helmet, chest or boots

Worst thing is, not only am I getting duplicates but I am getting dupes with lower light. Got the scout this week on my Hunter at 306, pulse at 307. Switched to my Titan, was actually using the pulse, and I got both again but both at 304. Also had the boots on my Titan from last week at 305, was wearing them and got the exact same. Exact. Same light, perks, stats Really!!!!!!

I've only been getting the same exact stuff I got from the first time the chest pulse rifle scout rifle and sniper it's making me mad

It sucks. I have gotten 6 shotguns from the raid, only 1 piece of armor and shards, oh and let me tell you this one time I opened the chest at Oryx and got 2 shotguns drop. All i want is the raid armor I coudl care less about the weapons, let alone having repeats multiple times.

It was never stated for everything in the game. It was faction stuff ... go listen to Luke Smith podcast. Everyone always takes everything out of context. Multiple exotics and gear is how you get to 310. I go farm 3oC in hopes to get 310 items to put into my legendary gear ... thats a good thing!

In case you missed it, they only said that about Legacy Engrams so that people could more easily complete collections.

Only for legacy engrams guys... That was stated. The system you're all complaining about was mentioned specifically in reference to legacy engrams. Nothing more.

I'm a 297 warlock, and every single legendary or exotic drop I've gotten has been either a duplicate or lower than my current level. Nothing has really changed. Grind strikes, collect engrams, go to the tower and decode, then dismantle. That's a destiny session. Oh and moldering shards are the new ascendant shards, except without a consistent purpose.

I would've thought that had I not gotten 10+ hereafters. I got a telesto last night only special engram that's decrypted to something else
