Destiny's Supposed Duplicate Loot Drop Fix Is Broken
Forgive me if I'm wrong (which I know I'm not) but didn't Bungie specifically state prior to the release of TTK that the chances of receiving duplicate drops for gear that you already own should significantly reduce?
I know that duplicate Exotic engram drops have already been explained by Bungie after release, why not before I don't know but this is Bungie so no surprise to be honest, so I'm not going on about Exotic's here but rather Legendary gear.
I've received countless Not Like The Others, Apple of Discord's, Long Far Gone's, An Answering Chord's, Hawkshaw's, Smolder's etc. the list goes on before receiving weapons I don't currently own.. Once you have every weapon, then yes duplicate Legendaries should then drop but going by Bungie's own statement, then why the F do we get countless duplicate drops when we haven't received other gear first?
The raid is another example, on two runs now I've had three flipping pairs of gauntlets, I've already got a pair so why not give me armour drops for gear that I don't have? Yes the initial drop may not be to the highest light level, so you're going to need a duplicate set at some point to raise light level (although that's a separate issue where light level on new raid gear can be lower then your current raid gear FFS) but at least give me gear that I don't have first and then allow me to infuse gear with duplicate drops after.
Destiny's loot system, especially for Legendary and raid gear is completely flawed which is shame because it's killing what was a great and fun game to play at one point. Now it's just pointless and unrewarding which in turn is making a lot of people start to lose interest in it..

Across my three characters i've gotten 6 Qullim's Terminus machine guns. Never got the rocket launcher, auto rifle or scout rifle.

I know that they said they were fixing duplicates for legacy engrams, not sure about all of them.

Own don't touch me. Does nightfall. Exotic gauntlet engram drop (3oC) and exotic gauntlet as nightfall rewards. Proud owner of 3 don't touch me....

So did Bungie say they were going to reduce the drop rate for already acquired items or completely get rid of It. Because if they said the percentage would reduce that means that the chance for getting the same items is still prevalent.

1 OdpowiedźI've had more invectives and 4th horsemen drop from exotic special engrams than I care to count... Meanwhile I'm the only one of my friends who doesn't have either telesto or hereafter...

Very, very small chance to get anything to drop, but once it does. You will get 10 of them in 2 weeks (happened to me the gally).

You have to understand the mechanism. Imagine that you have 5 items, each with a 20% chance of occuring. You get item 1. The next time, that item may have a 16% chance of occurring, while the other 4 have a 21% chance. Although it is less likely to occur, it isn't impossible for the 1st item to reappear. If it does, it may drop down to 12% chance of occuring, while the other 4 move up to a 22% chance. Although it is much less likely to pop a 3rd time - it still isn't an impossible chance. They were never going to remove the possibility of duplicates from occurring. RNG system is meant to slow down acquisition of loot - which is accomplished via duplication.

5 OdpowiedziI got 3 gauntlets 3 weeks in a row for the warlock, really? Ran the raid 7 times total with 3 toons and haven't received the kingslayers ghost. Saw multiple players ran it for the first time and got it. This new loot system is just as broken as the VOG raid.

lol, beat the raid last week at 294 light and got a 307 chest piece. Beat it this week at 302 light and got a 303 chest piece. WTF.

I couldn't deal with reading all of this, it made me too angry. I totally agree and like to forget how much time I waste running the same shit over and over for garbage duplicate drops. They said it was fixed, but it's faaaaaarrrrr from fixed. #theypromisedusbetter

Rng loves me. 1 three of coins on a heroic strike, got me exotic engram for special plus a legendary engram for special. Telesto and hereafter.

3 OdpowiedziYa...I got many of duplicates. Make me does not excite anymore to have any engram drop. I even still have 1 exotic chest engram that I don't bother to give to Rahool because I know it will be another alphalupi. At least give us a higher light level than the one we already have.

Got 2 ghosts and 2 bonds out of two runs, the second drops of each are lower light level then first ones lol

2 boots same raid. Boots week before. Have only my titan leveled up.

I only duplicates if I have everything armor wise on a character, ex. The Hunter, also special weapons, so many special weapons...

Three kingslayer shells, two hand cannons. Two peices of armor chest and arms on one character since raid dropped. Did receive the sniper which was new this week, and two HMGs from WP.

The raid is the worst of all. Those damn moldering shards are supposed to give "extra loot" from oryx...2 members of my team got 1 302 class item and 2 moldering shards for turning in 20! I got ANOTHER damn fusion rifle. It was my 5th one.

Last night I got 2 legendary chest engrams. They both decrypted with identical base stats for discipline and strength and only had one difference between the 2: One had pulse rifle ammo and one had auto rifle ammo. Same armor same stats and one very minor difference between the 2. Just saying you have to be kidding me.
