I have always felt like weapons such as shotguns and swords should never be starting weapons because they are too easy to kill with and are weapons that cause frustration which in turn makes multiplayer less fun and addicting IMO.
So whats your guys opinion?

3 OdpowiedziShotguns are crutch weapons. They only exist for less skilled players to get cheap easy kills with so they can feel like they're decent and contributing to the team when in reality they don't understand the concept of a radar or primary weapon. I used to be like that, but since I have switched to snipers and sidearms and never looked back. If you use nothing but shotguns in your special slot, you are bad.

The problem with Shotguns is the Range perks, which should be axed completely from their perk pool along with high refire rates. They should hit like a truck, but be an all or nothing sort of choice in combat against a singular target. If you can get into that range, then death should be nearly assured if you're against a shotgun. [b]EDIT:[/b] I wonder if all this Shotgun BS could of been avoided if it was made into a Heavy weapon instead of a Special. Makes sense with the Swords being a thing now and they already one-shot or two-shot.

1 OdpowiedźI dunno I personally use shotguns as a tactical device just as they should be used, nearly 100% of my shotgun kills ar we from getting a scrub to chase me around a corner where I pop them dead. This isn't cheating, this is how it is intended to be used. If your silly enough to follow your nearly dead opponent around a corner and get shot dead, that's your fault stop whining... just saying man... Edit: on second thought please keep doing this..... lmao

I think shotguns are what they should be right now. Not snipers. But close quarters beasts. This opens up a spot for fusions at the once felwinters lie territory. Gives side arms a chance too.

Nothing to do with the weapons, completely to do with those who use them and how. Basically comes down to the one thing that really aggravates me about shotgun, which is slide shotgunning. Other than that little issue with it, means you have a reliable, decent weapon for close encounters other than abilities or a fast firing primary

Couldn't agree more with the OP. Shotguns make it so any fool can just jump in and run at people while pushing R2 and play well. They don't even have to get rid or nerf them, just make it so they at least slow down while I am shooting them. A little suppression would be nice also. Being able to run full speed and spam R2 without consequence makes Destiny PvP a joke.

1 OdpowiedźWeapon diversity is always better. The problem with shotguns is their performance and versatility. The problem comes when you have a generally high TTK shooter with instakill mechanics sprinkled in. This leads to the "I win button" scenario. It's compounded by a low skill floor for shotguns. They just need to be redesigned. The tradeoff in archetypes should come down to range vs. Impact. That way your longer range shotguns aren't OHK and the shorter range presents a risk for reward scenario.

I don't get it... if you are in close quarters, shot guns will kill you. If you don't want to get shot gunned, learn how to avoid letting people get within shotgun range of you. I don't play pvp much but it seems to have lots of different mechanics that let you play at the range you are comfortable with. Anyway shotguns are fun, they're the great equalizer. Only when you get really skilled can you back off and get kills from mid to long range. But everybody should master close quarters combat first.

2 OdpowiedziPeople use shotguns as a crutch. Half of the community isn't good at pvp and doesn't want to take the time to learn to become good. I think it would be interesting to see how pvp would turn out without shotguns
