3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika BLACK KNIGHTSo1: 9/23/2015 8:08:37 PMI have four college degrees and I am a medical professional. College is not an overpriced piece of paper. It all depends upon what you major in. Prior to declaring your major, you should research the job prospects and salary for that profession. If you graduate with minimal opportunities and accumulate large debt, then yes the degree was a waste of time and money. Have a great day/evening, Guardians.

13 OdpowiedziAs far as I'm concerned, you're not considered an adult until you have that degree. Those who are saying college is just an over priced piece of paper, are trying to justify the continuation of their own stupidity. If you choose to not educate yourself, you are nothing more than a parasite that feeds off society's resources. I hold my dog in higher respect than that. At least he doesn't have a choice.

Why? Well first off I make the same amount of money regardless (it's less about what I know, than who I know and what they know that I can do), and secondly I do not view education as a gateway to employment, it's not a means to an end. To me education is the goal in and of itself, and to stop learning is to stop living and start dying. A degree is something I plan to get eventually, but I'm in no rush. There's a tragic shortage of people with practical knowledge and experience relevant to the actual application of what they know, largely because they spent their time learning about doing something in a classroom than learning how to do something in their own room.

Got one, for those that are saying they are, "getting one" or "in the process", it doesn't matter till you have it in your hand. Working on it doesn't mean anything. You'll understand more when you have it. Also, this thread isn't for you. It's for the people that finished. (the way its worded)

At least in the US, pretty much everybody can get a college education these days. I would say that a Bachelor's Degree is typical and pretty much expected. A Master's Degree is the separating line.
-
History. Not recommended unless you go on to law or teaching. Once you get working though it's all about certification, which doesn't always come from a college/uni. Just beware , the grind never ends if you want to make decent money!
