Hey, Im only at [UPDATE: 292ish light] and I'm really looking forward to doing the raid.
I have purposely avoided any and all things about the Raid, because I wanted to experience a new raid by myself and without assistance for the first time ever. (For context, I got destiny a few weeks after TDB was released, so everyone already knew most of what to do, not to mention i was a nooby scrublord at the time).
So please, have some guardian's respect, and dont spoil it for me!
I just have a few questions for those who have been through most or all of it:
1. How long will it take me (assuming I could beat it when I attempt it), and how many "sections" are there?
2. Should I even bother trying below 295 light?
3. How epic is it?
4. How creative and fun is it in comparison to previous raids?
5. On a scale of difficulty ranging from 1 (being crota present day) and 10 (being vog day 1 of release), how hard is the raid? Judging by complexness, teamwork requirement, amount of adds, bullet sponges, and things shooting at you.
Please do your very best to avoid spoilers!
Good example: "The final part where you fight oryx has lots of enemies attacking you and involves a crapload of teamwork and communication"
Bad example: "There are [amount of specific enemies] at [specific location] and you have to [specific action]."
Please dislike spoiler posts to spare me if you see any. Thanks!

False god waits ahead, therefore Reinforcements caller is effective.

4 OdpowiedziDo you still get drops at the end of every section? What are the moldering shards or whatever they are called required for?
-
Whatever you do and however you do it, there is one thing in this raid that you will always find yourself in need of.
MORE DAKKA
Serious Response: The easiest ways to run this raid without cheesing are counterintuitive. Stay on your feet.
-
1 OdpowiedźWear a brown shader
-
Expect not to finish in one sitting if it's your first run.
-
1 OdpowiedźExpect to focus on precision damage using a sniper and machine gun
-
2 Odpowiedzi*reads no spoilers* Well.... At one point you fight an enemy.
-
I've found that snipers and heavy machine guns are your friends. They have taken (no pun intended) fun bits of crota and vog to make a large scale raid.
-
Prepare to want to strangle sucky players. Hard raids with little info on completion expose good from bad and answers the "does this take skill?" question.
-
Depends on team, took me 5 hours today with a few first timers (incl. Myself), its the best raid so far and difficulty from 1-10 going in blind is 11
-
1 OdpowiedźIf you go in blind, you will hinder your team. Learn the mechanics. The raid is still enjoyable, unless you enjoy wiping for 9-10 hours and never getting any loot. Your choice.
-
1. If your going in with a full team who's never seen the raid before 7 or more hours 2. Yes, my first experience we had a 272 in the group 3. Super 4. Lots of fun 5. I'd give it a 10 lots of different mechanics which are hard to figure out your first time
-
4 OdpowiedziDon't try to go in spoiler free, I tired, unless your going in blind with friends people just won't have the patience
-
Expect some Dark Souls level BS
-
Things getting shot at you
-
Expert a shit ton of communication and wait till you are 295+ with a solid sniper and rocket
-
1 OdpowiedźIf you mean by yourself as in solo I doubt you'd even be able to get in the door let alone complete anything at all.
-
1 OdpowiedźIts like a strike, but its completely different
-
Ok ill put it this way you need a good communicating team and one that can work together because you just can't solo anything its going to take roughly 6 hrs give or take on how your team co-operates and its very hard
-
If you do it right, I believe he dies.
-
You will need a lot of time. You will need a good, skilled team which is great in communicating with each other. You preferably need a sniper. If you are a hunter keep Bones of Eao close to you ...
-
I went in blind and after 11 hours haven't beaten oryx. Only go in under 290 if you can hold your own and still then never under 285. And expect to die a lot.
-
Expect lots and lots of fun. Jumping fun, falling fun, failing fun. But you should go in with friends or the others are going to spoil it for you. Me and a team went in blind and it took a while till we beat oryx. Today we ran up to him in maybe two hours, so the difficulty depends quite a bit on experience.
-
Don't even bother till 290 this raid is no joke, honestly you want to be about 296 to make sure you're doing a lot of damage and not holding your team back.
-
Jumping and dunking and shooting galore
