TTK Class Action Lawsuit
I'm doing research on starting a class action lawsuit against Bungie and Activision for how they sold The Taken King via false advertisement, cut content from players who didn't purchase TTK without warning or word, overcharging oversea players over twice as much as American players by ignoring currency exchange rates, and overpricing a DLC which content was nowhere near worth the price. There are some solid things that TTK will automatically land Activition and Bungie in court, mainly false advertisement and the currency exchange rate. If I can get enough people to back me up here, so I know I can get some supporters for the class action lawsuit, then I will go ahead and file the lawsuit and post it if it's accepted and in the pending stages. I was robbed of what I bought and I want it back for free, because I paid for it.
I am also going to add in this class action lawsuit the abuse of Bungie's EULA. To use that to build a set up to lock out customers to repay for content they already paid for is going beyond reasonable use of EULA. Having one model of business written, then using a different business model to generate revenue is illegal. There is nothing Bungie states in it's EULA that this is a subscription based game and people who don't pay every 3 months will be locked out. Big mistake. If successful, this class action lawsuit will be the gaming equivalent of Abercrombie and Fitch being sued by their employees of their policies and terms that were unethical.

Why are you people wasting there time TRYING TO SUE FOR ONLY ONE DLC?! Why would you do that for? You have to stop looking at from the gamers side from where you just pay and play the game. You have to look at it from the developers view. Just think of all the time that they put into Destiny for YOU to play, here are a couple of things if no of what Bungie did for us. Set up the story, all the strikes, all of the shaders names and color features, pvp names, maps to play, weapon models, paint patterns, all the types of weapons, weapon names and earning system. That's probably just to list a few. SO QUITE YOUR WINING!!!

3 OdpowiedziIt's funny because nobody had to necessarily pay for the collectors edition or legendary edition since it clearly stated that it would include all DLCs. And I know that mostly all current players or non-current players had already owned them. So they offered TTK just on its own so that you didn't have to pay extra for what you already have. If you already owned all DLCs and still decided to purchase the Collectors Edition or the Legendary Edition then it was all on you. You knew what you were gonna buy and some people still bought it and screwed themselves by buying what they already owned. So who's at wrong there? Help me understand your point of view.

25 OdpowiedziIt's your problem that you purchased the content. Bungie and Activison will not be held liable for your inability to make appropriate decisions regarding your financial well being. FYI : Your case would never hold up in any court of law.

Really? I didnt have the dlc til a day or so and i wasnt locked out of anything all you are asking is people to support you money wise which will be a waste considering no law is broken remember all these companies have lawyers so they know by law how far they can push legally if you feel you have been jibbed go ahead but it will be a waste of time and money. Here is a sugestion if you dont like what they have done simply get rid of the game or buy dlc dont get me wrong i agree with what your saying its dodgy but you cant do anything about it. Wow had mult lawsuits against them for similiar things none of them one it was found they had worked around loop holes which all big companies do.

6 OdpowiedziSo have any of you people played any mmo ever? This isn't call of duty or any of those games that are super simple and easy to get everything. (Even though destiny is pretty simple for a mmo type game.) if you don't buy the new expansion, then you will be left behind. It's not their fault that you won't buy the add on to the game, but they are going to continue to develop new stuff and current stuff for the people that did buy it. Take WoW for example. If you don't buy a new expansion you can still do some stuff, but not much. You will pretty much be left behind until you buy it. And for those saying you had to buy the previous content again, you didn't. Those were added in to the "deluxe editions" and if you bought them and already had those expansions, you got additional rewards.

4 OdpowiedziThe charging different countries different prices isn't illegal. It's each individual country's economy and how things are priced. Things cost more or less depending where you are from. The exact pair of Nike shoes may be 100 cheaper in the United states vs Brazil. The rest. I am not sure. But worth a look. It is very sleezy.

You must be kinda stupid. Im sorry but if you rebought the content. Unless it was for a new system. You just managed to make a poor decision and didnt look for a standalone. You as well as others. Personally i made sure NOT to buy the legendary edition for 360 because i had everything else. I paid 60 for the collectors edition goodies plus ttk without the other expansions. If people did not read or look around research etc, before buying. That is there own problem not bungies

Other forums also posted links to the BBB and FTC website s to file complaints. Some people found government links for foreigners to write complaints to US government protection agencies. This is starting to get noticed! We got the ball going, now we need to keep it rolling. Start sharing all of this on Twitter! The FTC and BBB are being flooded with Bungie TTK complaints.

23 OdpowiedziReally? Really? For $40, you get a ton of new shit to do, a practical revamp to leveling, true Bungie level story, and plenty more. You cannot be serious. Bungie has finally brought this unique game to justice and all you can do is bitch and complain that you can't have it your way. I do not think you understand the concept of EULA, game development, gameplay evaluation, among other things. I believe you, among the rest of you whining pricks who try this, are just a bunch of self entitled shitheads hell-bent on ensuring that you and you alone are happy. I think I can speak for the decent folk out there. We can smell the sodium from here. Also, we don't care. Notice how most posts only get so many views. A few thousand at best. I think so many people see this as an issue because this is a console exclusive game. I say this because I'm reading people are worried this is a practice that will spread to other games and others that just want their money back. Weather you want to realize it or not Destiny is an MMO. And most MMOs (though till recently) have widely only been available on PC, and this practice that Bungee and Activision are pulling has been going on for a LONG time. This content being changed and or removed from MMO style games as they progress through the life cycle of that game is nothing new. You look at destiny like it's COD or some other regular multi-player game. It's not. It is at its CORE an MMO. And for the game to progress for those that enjoy playing it their will be things that are changed and removed. Destiny cost 60 when released then 40 for the 2 expansions and another 40 for TTK. That's $140 for all content (minus exclusives and the red bull shit fest, that's what should be upsetting). Now when COD drops most will buy it, then it's DLC well over $100 right there. Next year same time COD drops buy it and DLC another $100 plus. But no one's bitching about that? Over $200 for COD or a base price of $120. Yes destiny new content is sold as an expansion the same as most MMO games (in between the time of full fledged releases), but it is a paid service for content to continue your playing and have new content to play. Did people really expect a game that's an MMO to have all the same content from year 1 to still be available come year 10 (the time frame the Destiny project said it was going to run from day 1). Think about the player base and the servers. You can't turn this game on without Internet connection, why do you think that is. Your console plays the game but all the action and stress is on the servers. But you expect them to keep those servers dedicated just for you and to what... pay for new ones and more storage facilities just to keep the minor few happy. I'm no fan of some of the marketing and for 9 months (until just 2 days ago) I quit and gave up on destiny. So I have no huge love for this company (TTK does seem much more satisfying in my opinion though, having more fun then beta and launch day). I never would've gotten the taken king if I wasn't in the market for a new ps4 and was at best buy and saw the limited edition. To me it was beautiful. And the legendary edition of the game came with it. So yeah I didn't pay for the new TTK content but I did Pre Order the CC vanilla version of destiny so they've gotten well over $100 from me. But this seems to boil to ignorance. You don't know what destiny is and you're not familiar with how servers work on MMOs. I won't deny that it only being year old content is kind of soon but you can't just pick any old game up and jump online and servers still be up. Metal gear 4 online, servers down (have been for almost 2 years now). Game companies close servers or drop content to make room for new content. MMO see it regularly and most of our games do too but you didn't know cause you haven't cared to play online on those older games (hence why they were shut down or content locked).

If you are in the EU file your complaint with them. Quit wasting US tax dollars complaining to the FTC. U.S. Laws do not apply to non US territories. I am sure the EULA in the EU has slightly different wording to comply with their regulations.
