Edited out my original post because these two people said what I was trying to say a lot better.
Edit- I really like this reply by teacup_titan
Of course there's something wrong with them charging 20 USD for cosmetic items, but you shouldn't call the people who buy them "tools".
Explain that overpriced content has an affect on the industry of gaming overall. If sales are great enough then more companies will think its fine to overcharge for these types of items.
To all whom are replying angrily, no one is telling you how to spend your money, just be wary that your actions are not in an isolated bubble. They affect more than just you, believe it or not.
Edit- Another great post by Critical Gamerr
The whole point of this thread that OP has poorly tried to express, is that these type of micro transactions Bungie are starting to implement here and there are just the beginning.
If you enjoy micro transactions, then sure, be my guest and buy them all.
If you don't enjoy micro transaction, then sure, also be my guest and buy them all.
Just don't turn around later and complain that the price of the next dance emotes has doubled, or that the Gjallarhorn 2 is only available to those who
throw money at the screen
Even though you may enjoy the dance moves and find entertainment through it, if you are like me or OP who would prefer that these type of business practices stay out of destiny altogether, then please, think twice about buying them.
OP take note, calling people tools will cause them to not read your content, only hate on you. Learn from your mistake.

8 OdpowiedziYou are a tool if you give a shit about how other people want to spend their money.
-
1 OdpowiedźJust stop. I could spend my money on my little pony dolls for all it matters. My disposable income, I'll spend it how I want. I don't want emotes, I don't care that they're $20, I just don't want them. But whether I buy them or not is frankly none of your fucking business. The only message this sends to the gaming industry as a whole is gamers have disposable income, and they'll buy stupid shit with it. I can't even begin to fathom the amount of stupid worthless shit I've purchased over the years, but in each scenario it's price tag was pretty irrelevant provided it fit in my disposable income budget. $20? That's less than what it costs me to go to the bar one night. Stand on principle all you want, at the end of the day everyone buys worthless shit at unjustifiable prices just because they want to. What someone subjectively values is their business, and the soulless profiteers at Bungievision know that. Get over it.

You are the tool of tools, peasant.

I'm a tool with disposable income!

I'll watch the new dance moves other people have bought and I won't have to pay a cent. Free new entertainment!! Plus I want to add that HOW wasn't worth $20 compared to TDB. Not even close to how many more hours of entertainment Crota raid gave vs prison. I don't care if crota is a poor raid. Still gave hours of play time
-
The amount of people arguing about burgers is pathetic
Should delete the whole thread and just leave that.
-
Well I dono bout you but I live in a big city and payin 12+ dollars for a meal is pretty common. So $20 won't even get me two meals.
-
2 OdpowiedziBlue sky burgers in Lubbock Texas is the best
-
Well it's kinda like donating 1k to a random streamer. People don't get anything but enjoyment out of their streams and all they do is donate donate donate
-
2 OdpowiedziPeople seem to be talking about that quite a bit but I can't even find where people are buying this.
-
2 OdpowiedziWhat's the big deal with cosmetic micro-transactions. It literally has 0 effect on you if they are a thing. It's a luxury item for people who have the money to blow. It's an easy source of revenue for bungie that doesn't give power to the buyers, or take from those who choose not to buy it. I wouldn't give 2 shits if every game made from here on out had cosmetic microtransactions because you know what? If somebody wants it then let them enjoy it, it supports the developers further than just buying the game and dlc but that's a whole other rant.
-
This post is beneath me.
-
Only mind micro transactions when they become a pay win type deal. F that.
-
I'm glad we as a community have decided on something that was not voted on or ratified in anyway on how to spend my money.
-
But tools are kept in the shed...
-
Gjallarhorn 2? Oh please bungie, I'll buy another collectors edition for this item :D
-
Thanks for the financial advice!
still gonna buy it though
-
Post to long didn't read bought emotes guess I'm a tool

Anyone who complains about micro transactions haven't played any F2P games...micro transactions were put long before destiny and aren't going away anytime soon. People have the option to spend extra money to get stuff they want. Bungie isn't forcing anyone to buy anything. If you don't care about some extra emotes....don't buy the CE. Making a post about it is kind of pointless.
