I just finished 1.58 GB update 1.98 GB update 1.99 GB update 14.46 MB update I'm not supposed to play on weekdays because of school and work, so I doesn't really matter. I didn't download it in one sitting, did it in increments.

It took me 38 hours. Started at 6pm on Tuesday GMT and it finished at 8am today. I hate my potato internet but at least my download didn't corrupt or stop during the night. I would have been seriously pissed if I woke up and it had stopped a few minutes after I put it to sleep. I actually watched the download for most of the last two days making sure it was ticking along. I looked at other games to play whilst I waited but nothing compares to destiny. I actually loaded up Halo Reach on the 360. I couldn't play it, kept trying to aim down sights and health regen took ages, the sticks on the 360 controller are sooooo stiff compared to the ps4. So weird going back to a 360 pad it just felt so wrong and chunky (I was a diehard 360 controller supporter, well ducking done Sony on the ps4 pad, I don't like the tops of the sticks but I have concave rubber covers that make it my favourite controller of all time.)

Mine took 9 hours. I was listening to my clan get so excited over the changes while I stared at active downloads.

Mine took 22 hours in the end. What REALLY helped for me was not switching to Google DNS (I already used it anyway) but simply rebooting my router. In the first 14 hours I only got 14%. I then woke up, rebooted the router and then I got the other 86% in just 8 hours. I'm not sure why this worked but I have an idea that it may be because of line contention with my ISP. In the UK the download started at 6pm just as loads of people are sitting down to watch streamed TV like Netflix. So my 50-to-1 shared line probably had traffic management that guaranteed QoS for others receiving audio/video and I only had a small part of the bandwidth and perhaps this situation maintained until I rebooted the router and got a new DHCP lease?
