IMO Destiny is the best game I've ever played. Gaming since 1986 on the old Atari 2600.
But the experiences, excitement, fun and just sheer awesomeness that I've experienced continually over my 1300 hour plus time with Destiny is unlike anything I've played before.
So what's with the hate? This is the ultimate FPS with literally unlimited gameplay and replay value.
Is it just a lack of skill? Or sad pathetic trolls looking for some kind of social interaction because they are so toxic in the real world?
Honest question. How could you hate this game?

2 OdpowiedziOverhyped garbage. Re playability factor=grind the same exact strikes week in week out. The only thing this game really hits marks on is musical composition and gunplay.

The hate destiny gets is a good thing. It only makes the game better. I know this might sound seriously stupid but anyone reading hear me out. Maybe destiny had to flop so that it could be amazing. We all know the original destiny game shown in demos and trailers back in 2013. Large open worlds, no rgn, ai characters in missions. Lore and much better story all in the game. Saturn, mercury, jupiter etc. All gone. But what if THAT game launched, and got good reviews but people stopped playing? Thats exactly what bungie were afraid of. They were afraid of how long the game would last. They have this 10 year plan, but if this was any other normal game it would have only lasted a few months. If bungie didnt have this community now then this game would have died a long time ago. It was more about maintaining a large amount of players who keep coming back than making a game everyone will love just so it will get abandoned with whatever game comes out next. They had to sacrifice everything. Only 6 million, out of the 20+ million still play the game. But thats better than have 20 million players who enjoyed the game but left after a few months. Bungie want us to keep coming back. Thats why year 1 was shit. Thats why the taken king looks so -blam!-ing good compared to everything else

Because people know it can be a great game But it's not using its potential

Anything widely successful is equally as hated. Simple enough.

This game has a tendency to draw people's emotions into it easily. There's plenty of rational people who quit because they felt like they had nothing to do or were disappointed by the game, and that's fine. Too often, though, people quit because of changes in the game or not getting that one drop they wanted (which they should expect.) These people get very angry about the game and take to the forums to complain about the "waste of money" this game is and how crappy it is, ignoring the simple fact that they've logged many hours into the game and have 3 34s. They're angry fans, and nothing else (at least on the forums).

Edytowany przez użytkownika TheSilentTiger: 9/5/2015 6:04:37 AMI love Destiny. My favorite game of all time. Because it's always getting better and always changing. It stays fresh yet very familiar and straight forward yet complex. Simple design yet difficult challenges to complete. Its beautiful. I've logged more hours in a year than most people probably will log in 2 years. I've done that with many games I've been passionate about and Halo was one of those games. So thank you bungie and keep making this game more and more amazing.

Overall I like the game but.... Story is non-existent which is disappointing to me Missions for the most part suck Strikes are bullet sponge bosses that are just grind If bungie notices how players are playing then they change the mechanics just because (i.e. Atheon) Nerf guns into oblivion, such as pulse rifles and auto rifles Exotics are underwhelming for the most part and the exotics that are good are gamebreaking - gally and thorn to name the most notables the unmitigated disaster that was completely releveling exotics for DB DLC. Overall the game couldve been so much more at launch and bungie has been playing catch-up since. But i still like it as a game.

Because it is so good yet still has flaws. Love and hate together amplifies the reaction. Also a good analogy is 'The Uncanny Valley' effect from robotics When something is too good, the parts that aren't stand out even more.

Best Video Game I have ever played.

Repetition and shitty RNG is why most of my friends bailed. Personally I don't hate it. I'm just disappointed in the fact that it's not a progressive series ... Each year just a beta for the next apparently. I'm still hoping though.

A lot of people seem to judge it without knowing anything about it. A lot of my friends hate it but couldn't tell you a thing about it
-
I don't want to be that guy but I added your play times up and they come out to be around 850 hours...
-
It's not hated it has a huge population and the people you see and hear complain on here is such a small percentage of the entire community

4 OdpowiedziI've been gaming regularly since the -Atari 2600 days as well, and I'll jump in and say I agree with you 100%. Maybe it's because us old timers have come from the real pioneer days of gaming and we have a much greater appreciation for what the gaming industry has evolved to. Destiny is pretty much the game I had always hoped for since the days of Final Fantasy 1, Dragon Warrior, Contra and TMNT on NES. Screw the haters, they don't know how good they have it these days.

I love this game. It's fantastic. But you still have to tell what's wrong and not be offended when someone says "it sucks." It's hated because of what it was made to be. A world with so many places to go, a rich story, good loot system and everything you could think of. But it was a let down. Earth, Venus, Mars, the moon and soon the dreadnought to explore, a terrible story, bad loot and the only way to level up was to put on gear that had high light level. "Oh you like this helmet and it looks cool, but there's this other one that makes you level 28 and looks terrible, which one will you choose" was my big thing. It's still a great game and I love it to death.
-
I agree with some of the community that the underwhelming story it's not what we excepted from bungie, but the great game mechanics, close attention to detail, and overall breath taking aesthetics make it worth every second of playing imo.
-
It's hated not necessarily for what it is, but for what it could be, and what we thought it was when we bought it a year ago.
-
It is hated by some because it can be soo much more.

It gets hate cause everyone knows bungie is a top developer, but after leaving Microsoft it's just not the same. It feels more like a money hungry company now, not the bungie that made masterpieces like halo, marathon or myth. It gets crap because we all know the game it could've been, but isn't. It gets hate because of lame ass lines to avoid delving into the story and leaving that to lame grimmoire cards that are not even on the game. Basically it gets hate cause bungie done -blam!-ed up
