Who's not going to beat Moments of Triumph ? It's because of Skolas isn't it.

I'm not a huge fan of Prison of Elders, the time investment is too much for mostly crummy rewards.
When Moments of Triumph was released I was a bit wary of Skolas but thought I'd give it a go. I'd completed up to and including 34 so I was okay with the mechanics, but I knew the time investment would be large.
I made it to Skills in about 2-3 hrs...not bad I don't think. After a couple of hours trying to learn the mechanics and down him (and get a bit lucky) I had had enough.
Without checkpoints I've had to walk away, I gave the checkpoint out on the Forum. I have a wife and two kids, I can rarely find 6 hrs to spend playing Destiny.
So to those who have killed Skolas (after the burns were removed) well done to you and I salute you. You thoroughly deserve your emblem, hopefully Bungie with do a 'silver' for those of us that missed just one thing.
Cannot wait for year two.

Edit - Thanks for all the support guys and the offers of help. I have has some advice that makes me think going in as a hunter or a warlock may be a better idea. Who knows I may give it another shot.
Edit 2 - extra question, is it possible to clear enough of the ads, before the mines to make the mines a formality or do ads spawn at the same time as mines.
Edit 3 - I'm on PS4 thanks for all the help offers.

I could probably go beat skolas but honestly after that I still need to find chest and do public events and I'm too lazy for that

Edytowany przez użytkownika Bob_Ajk: 9/2/2015 9:30:26 PMI believe that you can do it. The ads are your priority. Kill the ads and leave Skolas alone, they won't spawn unless you put certain amount of damage to Skolas. So kill all the ads then nuke Skolas and repeat. Trust me you can do it.

All my friends stopped playing Destiny, so I could never really get a team together to tackle Skolas. Bit of a bummer really.

2 OdpowiedziJust got it today. It was because of skolas. I rolled with 2 guys I found on the forum. They showed me the way. It wasn't bad at all. I would be willing to try to pass on the info to anyone that wants it and help if you want. I never liked PoE but skolas wasn't the 6 hr ordeal people make it out to be. We did it first try.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Malfeitor: 9/2/2015 9:24:47 PMThe mines spawn based on % of health remaining. Think they spawn at 50%. So take him down to just above 50 then clear. Then when the adds are cleaned up hit him really hard and when the mines start move as a team to all of them for disarm.

I have done Skolas so many times I got tired of him and haven't done him since mid-June... The hardest was the first time, which was during the first week before anyone had any strategy down... it took about 6 hours just for skolas... of course after the burn strategy was found out, it took minutes, but sometimes we still did the old-fashioned way and it still took about 40 or 50 minutes for just skolas... It turned out that we were doing ourselves a favor for playing skolas through, because after burns were taken off it took us 15 to 20 minutes for skolas and under an hour for all PoE... We did it on every configuration, but there were some configs that were easier than others. 1 bubble titan w/saint-14 + 2 gunslinger Hunters (they could switch to blade dancer for the mines though). This configuration was an orbgasm, we always had WoL and everything died fast... Another pretty easy config was 3 self-res sunsingers, this is very forgiving since most times you can forgo passing the poison and take the death and then just res. Nowadays, you can just clear all the adds before you re-focus on skolas. It became easier to manage. Just break the bonds asap, take care of the adds, do some damage. Just remember be like water, if you get pushed, just follow the path of least resistance.

Ive done skolas 3 times this week if your on p4 hit me up.. Its not the best but fastest was about 50mins didnt wipe a round.. Heavy ammo glitch and kill the adds

I have everything! But I seem to have stumbled upon a glitch with the golden chests...for some the last chest on Mars won't register for me.....sigh

14 OdpowiedziJust want to add one thing, which not all of you will agree with: I think "Flawless Trials" should have been one of the Moments of Triumph. I'm not patronizing anyone (I'm barely a 1.2 kd man, myself). But it is in line with "conquering all the chellenges Destiny has to offer in it's first year", don't you think? It's not easy, by any standards, but it is worth fighting for and accomplishing. I'm proud of my 2 flawless runs. Wasn't easy, but I have found good friends in my clan and we did it twice by fighting with all we had (yes, I used Thorn in some of the hardest matches; almost impossible not to, unless you're True Vanguard or something) and having an awesome time. Don't tear me a new one, I'm just saying ;)

Sorry, no way in hell am I gonna grind through 30 more public events, and the tedious and time-consuming Skolas, who is also impossible to beat without a mic.

Just find some people who know the skolas fight like the back of their hand. I played with two guys like that and beat the whole thing in a hour and a half or less. Good luck.

Adds spawn once mines trigger. I've done it 30x. After the kids go to bed, look on the forum for someone that has an opening at skolas. That's what I do. It's not bad at all. My advice is to just listen to whoever your with that's beaten him. I can possibly help on either Xbox 1 or PS4. I use the PS but am looking to beat it on XBOX on my sons account for him.

It was such a relief to beat skolas....especially when it's been 5 hours with a squeaker and a guy that drank like 4 beers....
