Who's not going to beat Moments of Triumph ? It's because of Skolas isn't it.

I'm not a huge fan of Prison of Elders, the time investment is too much for mostly crummy rewards.
When Moments of Triumph was released I was a bit wary of Skolas but thought I'd give it a go. I'd completed up to and including 34 so I was okay with the mechanics, but I knew the time investment would be large.
I made it to Skills in about 2-3 hrs...not bad I don't think. After a couple of hours trying to learn the mechanics and down him (and get a bit lucky) I had had enough.
Without checkpoints I've had to walk away, I gave the checkpoint out on the Forum. I have a wife and two kids, I can rarely find 6 hrs to spend playing Destiny.
So to those who have killed Skolas (after the burns were removed) well done to you and I salute you. You thoroughly deserve your emblem, hopefully Bungie with do a 'silver' for those of us that missed just one thing.
Cannot wait for year two.

Edit - Thanks for all the support guys and the offers of help. I have has some advice that makes me think going in as a hunter or a warlock may be a better idea. Who knows I may give it another shot.
Edit 2 - extra question, is it possible to clear enough of the ads, before the mines to make the mines a formality or do ads spawn at the same time as mines.
Edit 3 - I'm on PS4 thanks for all the help offers.

2 OdpowiedziI've killed skolas on void week, got the bow shader ship and emblem but it still does not count towards the moments of triumphs emblem. Why bungie??

Okay, so some stuffs asked. 1. Best class for Skolas? You really want one of each - a bladedancer, a self-res warlock and a bubble titan will clear fastest and can get away with a few mistakes. Having said that, three Titans can clear if they make no mistakes, and you really do need at least one bubble titan. Three hunters is suicide, from personal experience. 2. When mines start, ads are continuous - if you kill them all, more spawn. BUT they don't arrive very quickly, so you can get them down to manageable levels. Don't try to kill everything, but if you want to thin their numbers first, go for it. Personally I think killing Skolas as soon as possible after the mines start is the easiest tactic. Apparently exotic bounties are "auto-completed" in year 2. Don't know if that applies to the Ciphers though, I have 2 atm...

Beat him 3 times and got ciphers each time. It was Arc Burn so all we had to do was shoot him in the face. It was quite easy.

Never beat skolas. :( . I bought legendary edition of TTK. But it wont matter then. Are The exotics for skolas gonna be in year two?

3 OdpowiedziMe and my boy will carry whoever wants through Skolas, I'm amazing with invisible timing and mines as a hunter, the fight is a breeze and I can still do with one more elder cypher (who cares about dregs pride though), message me here, must join clan :)
