With the 21st coming up I was wondering which pistol I should get. Opinions on the Glock 19?
EDIT: I've decided to go with the Beretta M9. Based on my works requirements for s pistol and personal preference in size and caliber.

2 OdpowiedziI recommend the M6D. Perfect for home defense, shooting ranges and wiping out an entire alien armada.

Beretta is a good choice. Same handgun my father owns.

1 OdpowiedźFirst read this, then read this quote
Buying a handgun can be a dizzying ordeal. The popularity of them ensures that you have enough choices to make your head spin, with prices ranging from an expensive lunch to a used car. For as many handguns as there are, surprisingly few become truly popular. But they are popular for a reason, so start narrowing down your choices and preferences by examining popular models. Smith & Wesson, Glocks, HKs, Sigs, CZs, Berettas and Rugers. There are tons more, but don't get ahead of yourself. Pick a frame size first. Full size handguns generally offer longer grips, higher capacity magazines and longer barrels. Semi-compacts usually still have long enough grips that fingers aren't left without purchase, they accommodate fewer rounds (usually 2-3 less) and have shorter barrels. Compacts usually have very short grips for easier concealment, even fewer rounds and even shorter barrels. Pocket guns are very small, very thin, nearly always single stack, with very short barrels. Grip diameter will almost never differ between different frame sizes of the same model. Ergonomics are somewhat difficult to nail down, because when you pick up a gun you "like," you're going to WANT to like it and you may overlook its flaws or uncomfortable features. Try some prospects out, use popular, readily available handguns as a springboard to decide what you do and don't like. Be critical. Does it hurt your hand someplace? Do all your fingers have purchase? Can you reach the controls? Can you manipulate the slide? Does your resting thumb prevent the slide stop from working? Can you reach the magazine release? After you've handled or at least researched some, take the list of features and requirements you like and narrow down your options further. Maybe one of those popular guns is your baby girl. Maybe one's very close but you'd prefer a parallel option. Maybe you're a hipster and want to carry a Dardick 1500 because I'm sure you've never heard of it before. Finding what you want is the easy part, it's knowing what you want that's hard. Why no revolvers? Apart from extreme double action/single action trigger pull disparity, extremely low capacity, high weight and thickness, nothing. There are folks who carry large frame revolvers and keep them well concealed. It's your choice, but in opinion only, autoloaders surpass revolvers in every category except very good triggers at low cost. And they're very pretty.
Also, disregard anyone who says a Taurus, or FNX 45. Because of this for the FNX https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdTsFB1ejo8 and you can do your homework on the Taurus part.

2 OdpowiedziThe Great Glock vs 1911 style debate is going on and I love it lol. Honestly its all about what is comforting to you, not other people. My opinion is to go to a gun shop look around and ask questions to the guy behind the counter, hold the weapons and figure what is the most comfortable to handle. If you are going for a conceal carry weapon I know some gun shops that are cool enough to let you wear the weapon in your own holster and if it feels good go from there. and once you find out what you might like go to a gun range were you can shoot them and then make your choice from that. It'll take some foot work and a lot of questions but once you find that gun you will want to carry it and take care of it like its your baby. this is coming from gun buy experience and 4 years in the Marine Corps so take what information you want juts trying to help. o and before I forget make sure you have a gun that is legal in your area I live in Cali so restrictions are bad here.

I would go for a Springfield xdm over a glock, but that's just me.

Get a 44 magnum

Don't do it, you have so much to live for !

Take a look at the Springfield XD line of pistols. I'm currently looking into buying the 4" service model chambered in a .40SW. As reliable as a Glock with (in my opinion) vastly superior construction. The standard sights on an XD are also superior to anything Glock puts out. Don't get me wrong; Glock makes a great handgun that won't fail you when it really comes down to it. It's just that some designs are just better. :)

4 OdpowiedziMost glocks feel the same, I'm not a big fan of 9mm, if you want a small frame go with .40, either a Glock 22 or 23 (I think). Can't go wrong with a decent 1911, RIA has really stepped up quality and crank out B grade pistols for relatively cheap price. My advice is go to the shop, hold em, take as long as you need, make sure it feels like sex and you're 100% happy with it. I have 3 Glocks, 1 1911, 3 different revolvers, and my Glock 22 is my favorite.
