Exotic weapons. Do they or do they not upgrade to year two? I understand what a version 2.0 is. I get that it's a newer version with a different look and some new stats/perks. What we didn't hear anything about though is how to upgrade an exotic we have right now to the same status as year two weapons.
It was stated in the stream that infusion is only for year 2 weapons. So we can't use other guns to upgrade old exotics. So do we need to have a new one drop for us at a higher attack rating? Will they drop at a higher attack rating? Is there some sort of etheric light to upgrade them?
Would love a dev response!
Edit: Trending! Let's keep this alive so Bungie can see everyone wants to know about the true state of year one exotics!
Edit 2: A lot of people don't understand what the question is here. I'm not wondering how exotics get upgraded to a 2.0 version of said exotic. Bungie was pretty clear on how that works. The question is, how does exotic x get upgraded from 160 damage to 280 damage but still stay exotic x instead of turning into exotic xv2.0.
Edit 3: So it's come to my attention that there are screen caps of LBN at 160 attack value while not leveled up. This could mean that fully upgraded it might be the same as a v2.0 exotic which would be great. But then again they showed the Necrochasm and it's fully upgraded as soon as you apply the crux and it was a lower attack value. So it still remains unseen as to what will happen with our beloved exotics.
Edit 4: So Bungie tweeted that new questions would be answered tomorrow in the update. Hopefully this is one of those questions!
Edit 5: It's official. Not all exotics will be able to be upgraded. R.I.P.

3 OdpowiedziYeah, definitely need some clarification on the Infusion Process. It looked as though if you already have Suros Regime, as an example, then the TTK Y2 version of it is already unlocked, but requires Level 40 to use. Based on the short explanation of Infusion, you'd 'buy' a Level 40 Suros, then salvage your current A365 Y1 Suros to upgrade the Attack on the Y2 Suros? As to whether doing this would max out the Y2 Suros? Idk. Would we have to get several Suros' to max out one of them? Can we salvage a different Exotic Primary into the Y2 Suros to upgrade it? I imagine a rather lenghty Weekly Update coming, or possibly two-part update, like the week they dropped Weapon-nerfing 2.0 on us.

2 OdpowiedziYou mean, for instance, how do you upgrade the actual Suros Regime that is in your inventory right now and turn it into the Year 2, Darth Vader's Ferrari version?!? My guess is this: You instantly have access to the Year 2 blueprints of all the Year 1 exotics you currently own. You go to your blueprint collection and buy the Year 2 version you desire with 125 Legendary Marks. You upgrade the Year 2 version from scratch... Sad, but most likely true.
-
No, none of the Y1 exotics are upgradable. Look at the stream, they show a Y1 exotic (no infuse perk, 160 defense) and the Y2 version (infuse perk, 280 defense)

All exotics are carrying over.

So do some don't.

3 OdpowiedziYes, please clarify... how do you mess something like this up with 250,000 people watching and wondering what will happen with their exotics? Not to mention straight up ignore many other big questions the community has.

1 OdpowiedźThis, more than anything else needs to be addressed. I mean you finally gave the people what they want (vault space) and all anyone can think about is how they're going to have to leave their EXOTICS behind. Something i remember is that you said exotics would stay with us the the whole 10 years (paraphrasing) Please make it so you can keep your favorite exotic weapons. I don't want to trash my universal remote!

Not only weapons, but armor too. I need to know this haha. Honestly i think it makes no sense to reduce the amount of exotics we can have with the max attk/def cap.
-
4 OdpowiedziIt looked like there was a year 2 version for all the ones deej owned - as long as there was a year 2 version available for that particular exotic. They said in the stream that not all year 1 exotics would have a year 2 version.
