Exotic weapons. Do they or do they not upgrade to year two? I understand what a version 2.0 is. I get that it's a newer version with a different look and some new stats/perks. What we didn't hear anything about though is how to upgrade an exotic we have right now to the same status as year two weapons.
It was stated in the stream that infusion is only for year 2 weapons. So we can't use other guns to upgrade old exotics. So do we need to have a new one drop for us at a higher attack rating? Will they drop at a higher attack rating? Is there some sort of etheric light to upgrade them?
Would love a dev response!
Edit: Trending! Let's keep this alive so Bungie can see everyone wants to know about the true state of year one exotics!
Edit 2: A lot of people don't understand what the question is here. I'm not wondering how exotics get upgraded to a 2.0 version of said exotic. Bungie was pretty clear on how that works. The question is, how does exotic x get upgraded from 160 damage to 280 damage but still stay exotic x instead of turning into exotic xv2.0.
Edit 3: So it's come to my attention that there are screen caps of LBN at 160 attack value while not leveled up. This could mean that fully upgraded it might be the same as a v2.0 exotic which would be great. But then again they showed the Necrochasm and it's fully upgraded as soon as you apply the crux and it was a lower attack value. So it still remains unseen as to what will happen with our beloved exotics.
Edit 4: So Bungie tweeted that new questions would be answered tomorrow in the update. Hopefully this is one of those questions!
Edit 5: It's official. Not all exotics will be able to be upgraded. R.I.P.

What I understood from the stream was. Our current exotics will stay the same. How ever we can get an updated version of some of them after the update. So you will have your original Suros with it's stats and upgrade tree it currently has. But you can get the "Suros 2.0" with the new upgrade tree. At least that how I understand it. Doesn't seem we can upgrade our current one though. They will just remain the same.

2 OdpowiedziI haven't watched the stream, but I didn't think they would make us grind our exotics again. And some might not make it to year 2? Jeez. What's so terrible about having exotics maxed from destiny 1 at least till destiny 2 without jumping through stupid hoops?

Edytowany przez użytkownika Luckdog26: 8/20/2015 4:33:54 AMThe answer to your question, is that Year 1 exotics are not being upgraded to Year 2 stats. So NO 160 damage being upgraded to 280. SOME Exotic Weapons/Armor are receiving upgrades, not only to stats, but the weapon model and perks. Only SOME. EDIT: Some people are saying how Year 1 Exotics seen in the stream didn't have any damage nodes upgraded, so they will still be able to hit 280. This is true, however, all the Year 2 Exotic Weapons were not infused, so once they are infused they will be higher than 280 damage, while Year 1 Exotics will only hit 280 max.

2 OdpowiedziI want them to tell us exactly which Year 1 exotics will be available in year two
-
1 OdpowiedźOnly some of the exotics will be available in year two, and if u have them now u automatically have them in the year two version... And I'm pretty sure infusion is only for legendaries
-
Did you even watch the stream?
-
3 OdpowiedziI honestly wanna know too because from what I understand only select guns are brought back in the start of year two unless you can infuse them (I'm sure they will bring some back in future dlc's)
-
I think they are permanently capped, and meant to be used in old content, but will not be effective in TTK content. They have pretty much already said this in the past. The weapons are still in our vaults, but won't be our go-to weapons outside Y1 content and crucible. Sorry. As for the LBN, they said all exotics start at their max light value. I would assume that since there was no infuse perk on the 1.0 version, it can not be upgraded. However any weapon with a Y2 blueprint from Y1 will be available once you own it or acquire it in either Y1 content. I suspect the reverse won't be true.

Bump. Need clarification now!

3 OdpowiedziReally hope this is clarified in the weekly update. I think it's pretty obvious that year one exotics won't have as high a lvl as year two, but they need to come out and say it straight.

6 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika JayMac: 8/20/2015 3:20:36 AMThe infusion was only for TTK weapons. The old exotics based off the knowledge gathered will not be upgradable, hence why they took some favorites and gave them a tune up. They want loadouts to be different and using the same year 1 weapons would completely defeat the purpose of incorporating new manufacturers and tons of new weapons / perks. Get over it people

2 OdpowiedziMy biggest issue, if you will, is Necrochasm is finally being made useful. I'd hate to not get to use it fully in end game after it finally gets a buff, especially after waiting 6 months for this.

12 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika w3rdblader: 8/19/2015 10:53:13 PMFrom the screenshot, you can see that no nodes upgraded equals 160, which is the 34 equivalent. So fully upgraded will probably still be the same level as the 2.0 gear, just without the extra perks.

What I saw and heard on it is that a few exotics armours will go year 2. Only a few year 1 exotic weapons will go to year 2, but are going to be revamped.

15 OdpowiedziThink of it this way...if they weren't going to carry over exotics like Ghorn and IB from year 1 then why would they be nerfing them? Think people. They will be upgradeable there just won't be NEW versions of them with the reworked perks.
-
I believe they said not all had been added, yet. Implying they may or will be adding more.

1 OdpowiedźSo here is a question and observation. Can you use an exotic to infuse a legendary? Say I find a year 2 equivalent of a Hopscotch but it's at a level 35 attack. Can I just go grab a 2nd year exotic pulse from the kiosk and infuse it to max? Also, I didn't see anything about re-rolling guns at the gunsmith

I just combed over the stream for the 3rd time today. The info I can give you is there is no upgrade to the year 1 items as can be seen when they look at the light beyond. It does however start at 160 and have armor upgrades, telling us that it will go higher, but no telling what it will go to. The year 2 versions start at 280 and have the ability to power up with other items. However, the universal remote he swept over in the vault has a power of 152 with the perks unlocked, which tells me that the weapons we have already might actually be weaker than we can get them if we were to buy new ones, which I figured might be the case but there is no upgrade that we know of yet. My conclusion, the exotics from year one will likely reach close to the power of year 2, but will probably stop at or slightly before 280 which will make them slightly underpowered when compared to new items. I expect this is to get people to try out the new goodies they have created. Wouldn't be surprised if we see the remaining exotics getting a year two version at some point a couple months down the road (maybe it will be their christmas present to us), but as of right now it looks as though we will not be able to fully upgrade the existing ones. Hope this all helps a bit.

2 OdpowiedziThey said only some will be coming with us and from what I saw in the teaser and stream Thorn and the Ram might not be included
