Just tell me how could you earn a random drop? It's RNG, for those who are saying you xurned your Gjallarhorn, you didn't work for it... RNG may be blessed with you, you may get it throw joining a nightfall (At the the end of the boss fight, Engram or Simply getting exotic chest checkpoint)...

-GUYS IM TALKING ABOUT EXOTICS
-You can only say you earned an exotic bounty/elder cipher exotic oh wait they drop randomly, never mind lol (doing the bounty is earning)
-lighthouse and Osiris gear are earned

The way I look at it I say you earned your Gally by doing weeklies every week for those strange coins. Hell I made a new account friday got him to 26 so I could run prison and get strange coins to but Gally but I got lucked and the 1st chest I opened at the end was Gally. I sure as shit didn't earn that. Luck of the draw all the way

2 OdpowiedziWell there is a way of earning things. You could do pve or pvp activities get marks and reputation and buy weapons and armor from vendors. Or do weekly strikes save up coins etc and buy something from xûr.

I would say weapons from exotic bounties are earned. That's about it though. Maybe raid weapons to an extent.

3 OdpowiedziWell your title said there is "no earning in Destiny" I was going to say exotic bounties but it seems you already contradicted yourself. This is now a stupid post.
-
Technically getting strange coins through guaranteed sources is earning to buy an exotic from xur. It's just really really cheap.

You earn adept trails weapons

You earn a queens cipher

Keep seeing this in one form or another. Have now put some thought into it. And am fully prepared to be wrong but.... All exotics are Rng, therfore none can be earned. The closest to an earnt exotic is vex mythoclast and necrochasm as these only have a chance of dropping or the upgrade parts at specific parts of the game. All other exotics are Rng for more than one task. Anything that can be smoggy plutoed can not be earnt. Whether ur gally dropped or you bought it makes no difference. U didn't earn it either way. Those weapons with exotic bounties are almost earnt as they require tasks to be completed, some of which are more arduous than others.(Looking at you Thorn) just my 2 cents.

2 OdpowiedziMurmur and the Vesta sidearm are earned trough quests.

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Shiloh Ivy: 8/17/2015 3:26:46 PM
The question you need to ask is: Is the amount of effort I'm doing to get _____ exotic equate into the exotic's worth? In the case of Gjallarhorn being Xurned, the answer is a whol hearty no. Let me explain: First off, we're buying exotics, the best weapons in the game, with a rare currency. It's amazing how we upgrade them with exotic shards and some can be obtained through exotic bounties. But we buy them with a rare material. People are buying the best weapon in the game, with a rare material. I wouldn't call that earning. Let's look at the value of these coins, shall we? I say these coins are close to worthless. Why do I say that? Because you can get them from: •Strikes •Engrams •PoE chest •Three different sets of weeklies •nightfalls •cryptarch packages •public even packages •New monarchy packages •Dead orbit packages •Future war cult packages That's a lot of ways to get a currency to purchase the best rocket launcher in the game. It would seem like we'd use a currency that isn't so widely found in the game but sadly, we don't. You don't have to work for strange coins, the game practically gives them to you. Let's look at the pricing. Gjallarhorn was sold for 17 strange coins, correct? So was No Land Beyond. Infact, I think no land beyond sells for 23 since it's a primary. Tell me, is No Land Beyond's value anywhere close to Gjallarhorn's? No? Then why is it the same price? In the world of economics, we price things based on value. Can you really say that buying Gjallarhorn from a vendor that sells the best rocket launcher in the game at the same price as one of the worst exotic, "earning" said Gjallarhorn? To me, the answer is an obvious no. The person who got his Gjallarhorn from beating Skolas, he earned it. The person who got his from Crota, he earned it. The person who got it from Atheon, he earned it. The person who got it from the lighthouse, he definitely earned it. (Provided he didn't get carried) To summarize: Buying Gjallarhorn from Xur isn't actually earning a Gjallarhorn in my opinion. Because they are buying it with a rare currency, said currency is worthless and the pricing is dumbfounding. Disclaimer: I'm not an elitist. I'm very happy that everyone has a Gjallarhorn. Now PvE will be easier. I'm simply answering the question.
There is currency in the game you obtain at a set rate for a set task You then spend then on stuff But you know that's not how earning works or anything

Exotic Bounties

Complete 3 weekly heroics. Purchase item from Xur. There's your earning in Destiny.
-
Beat campaign > get strangers rifle
-
You don't earn the vanguard missive, but you have to earn the gun. Necrochasm is RNG at two points, but it requires levelling a really shitty gun, that becomes a decent gun, that becomes a great gun after you reach Eris morn rank 3 and beat Crota on hard until you get the crux

You do something to get something Per RNGesus Nuff said.
