I was furious over the news that all my stuff was going to be obsolete so i started a rant thread.
I was ready to leave the community over it.
Turns out I was pretty misinformed about what was going on.
Thanks to some people on this forum that took a minute or two to correct my opinion and give me some good ways of looking at things, it brought me back into the fold.
But I realized something, people wanting to quit over this or that really aren't the problem.
The ridiculous ammount of straight up jerkoffs that took time to comment on the post with all sorts of insulting, irrelevant, namecalling are part of the problem. People that didn't even bother to read the whole body of the post to see that i had changed my mind after I was shown the light.
Wtf?
I don't personally care, but some of you guys can be real dicks, and i bet a lot of them are the same douches that gloat and teabag and send shitty messages to people calling them scrubs and noobs and not accepting people into raids because they don't have the "right" gear, or are new to the game, or are younger kids, to Git gud or some other juvenile ignorant crap.
You guys really suck that are like that.
Some people even used straight up hatespeech
Look, maybe it gets annoying looking at people's posts that are ranting about quitting over this or that, some are legit gripes over the direction the game was going (like mine) some are straight up stupid reasons that I've seen. Sometimes they're SO ridiculously dumb i feel the urge to be a dick, but i dont because I'm not an ass-hőle.
Look, if it's over something that the person is obviously misinformed about be nice and point it out don't just bomb the person with douchbag comments and push them away, keep doing that and otherwise decent people will leave, and then eventually the only people you'll have to play with will be jerkoffs and douchebags.
I wanted to say thank you to the people that took the time to bring me back
And a big FÚÇĶ YOU to all the douchebag forum trolls.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Evilbeavers: 8/20/2015 7:41:18 PMIf you've seen as many threads about nerfing, quiting, bungie lied, earning, xurning, thorn, blink, shotguns, final round, suros, ttk, year 1 armor, exotic leveling, and rng as I have then you wouldn't have made this thread. Edit-- Forgot to add whining. Let us not forget that one.

1 OdpowiedźI can completely sympathise. As a relatively recent Viator to online social spaces, I was surprised and disgusted by the amount of nastiness displayed by what seems to be a majority. So I did some research. The main factors involved in this sort of behaviour are apparently anonymity and immaturity. The relative anonymity of communication via the Internet has two main effects on people using it. First it removes the fear of consequence and the feeling of responsibility from the user. Most people wouldn't behave like this in real life because of the pressure of social conformity, and because it may earn them a punch in the face. Second, it dehumanises other users, making them not so much actual people, but something more like a character in a video game. Immaturity is obvious. Younger people are more likely to display this sort of behaviour. Not all young people do, and older people do as well, but the majority of people acting like this are likely to be teenaged or younger. Most people tend to grow out of this sort of thing as they get older. Those who don't are often emotionally immature. Also be aware that comments on the forum aren't a true representation of the community as a whole. The people who make positive comments in online social spaces are less likely to do so if they feel others have already offered the same opinion. Their input is generally just to help or offer an opinion. The people who make negative comments are more often doing so in an effort to be 'amusing' (if only to themselves), or to elicit a response. Because of this, it is generally irrelevant if the same comment or opinion has already been offered, they will add their own opinion anyway. I would also add that older, more mature people, who are more likely to offer positive or constructive input are less likely to comment in online social spaces. This is because they are generally less comfortable with this type of communication, and because they are less likely to feel the need to share their own opinion with others. In closing, to be clear; I am not claiming that all young people behave this way, nor that only young people do. There are plenty of young people who do not act like this, and plenty of older people who do. If you are not one of the offensive users, please do not be offended, I am not talking about you. If you are one of these people, please do not be offended, I meant no offence, and am merely repeating information obtained from other sources. Feel free to do your own research into the subject, or offer your own reasons for such behaviour if you feel you are misunderstood.

1 OdpowiedźDestiny is one game in a stack of games that sits next to my TV. The games I really get into--Borderlands, Elder Scrolls, Fallout for example--I visit their forums/Reddit/etc. There is no doubt that Bungie's forums are the worst for trolls, bad form, etc. They really need to get a grasp on fixing it.

1 OdpowiedźIt's the internet man. You will run into a huge amount of dicks in any forum anywhere you go. The worst part? Alot of these guys aren't dicks in real life, they just act like that over the Internet for whatever reason, because they can. The best thing to do is to not acknowledge them and move on, don't take the bait. Otherwise you'll just end up pissed off in a yelling match with someone who's having fun with it.

Welcome to the internet where people say stuff they wouldn't in real life.

If like me though such people are spending as much, if not more time in this app than actually playing, well it going to get stale, add to that the born idiots that are already here and it's a bad recipe, have lost count of times i been ready to go do something, nightfall, raid etc but no-one is available so end up here, before I know what's happened I'm reading/posting instead of playing, wasn't a prob at first as I had many people who only wanted to play Destiny willing/able to run stuff, now alas the list grows smaller each day, recruitment forum only works half the time, other half I'm 'stuck' in here, souring me for sure, what it does to others, well you explained that adaquetly.
