Stop calling people autistic
Can everyone please stop using "autistic" as an insult and derogatory term on the forums? As someone who has grown up with an autistic brother (real diagnosis), I really take offense to this. My brother is a wonderful person and I hate seeing autism used as an insult.
Edit: I expect trolls. Go ahead and call me autistic. All it does is make our community look like a bunch of insensitive jackasses.
Edit 2: Thank you to all of the people that have genuinely added to the discussion and given me some insight. While I may disagree with you, if you aren't offended by it then that's fine. I don't expect this thread to make much change, but I am hoping that some people stop and consider what I am saying.
Edit 3: I know it's the internet. Just stop using it. It makes you look like a dumbass when you use it as a serious insult. Calling me autistic doesn't even offend me personally and honestly, saying it as satire doesn't bother me. Is that really the best thing you can come up with, Flood?

This is part of why the internet stays like this. Because people become so insensitive and confident when they are behind a screen that they'll just throw any insult around and not give a shit who it hurts. It's truly sad. My Best friend is autistic, but his I.Q is higher than mine. Why you ask? There are different parts/levels of the autistic pyramid. He has a low E.Q,but a high I.Q. He doesn't take being autistic as an insult. I didn't know he was until he told me.

I will probably use the autistic/retarded/gay/ect. derogatory terms for a long time into the future simply because I don't care what others think. That being said I understand that these things are unfortunate and oftentimes not a choice (except being homosexual, that shit's a choice) and even have people in my family that are afflicted with them. I care about them very much but honestly, it just proves why the terms are used. If you aren't autistic and you act like one, I'm going to say so.
