Is it just me, or is anyone else thinking Bungie are taking us for a Massive ride with this new DLC
Fellow gamers and like minded geeks if anyone can explain this to me, i'll buy you a pint... Sod it i'll buy you a copy of the game at this rate. I play Destiny in the UK and this is my beef.
Destiny retail price when released nearly a year ago was £44.99, Two DLC packs released periodically throughout the year was £34.99 (for both) and in September a new DLC is released 'The Taken King' retail priced at £39.99 (also to note in the good old US of A its only $39.99 dollar bills ya'll). So in total I have paid £119.97 to play this game in which I have put too many hours in I am willing to acknowledge (1'130ish hours last time i checked).... shhhh
Bombshell being is that Bungie the developers of said game are releasing all of this content on one disc and currently over at simplygames.com

-blam!-ing Raging!!! If i want to buy 'The Taken King' it its £39.99 but for people who may be new to the Destiny game its only £34.85 plus you get all the content that has preceded it. Way to shit all over your fans!! I Think i may be looking for a new game to throw my money at because this is simply ridiculous.
If anyone feels they are being taken for a ride more so than the other huge gaming franchises, COD, BF, FIFA whatever it maybe please post your concerns on this thread.

I can see both sides to this. But games (and add ons) do naturally fall in price. I could have paid full price for destiny but wasn't sure if I'd like it as it had mixed reviews. I waited patiently and paid £19 a few month back. There's games that get released and i know i cant wait to play them so I'll happily pay full price knowing down the line someone will pick it up for 20% of what I paid and get the same enjoyment. It's all personal choice.

Same here. I got the game a few weeks ago for €10 and wanted to buy the expansion pass but noooooo. After doing a good bit of research, i can get TTK bundle for €40 instead of spending €35 and €40.

yes you've struck a chord to be sure mate, i dont think its bungie i think its activision, bungie genuinely seems to give a shit. They will see a massive drop off in sales with this dlc once the initial spike is over, come late october when battlefront, and halo 5 drop bye bye destiny.

i can explain it to you real easy... do you watch south park? im pretty sure it was south park anyway... the episode about "freemium". well its easy... us year one player who are still buying are the 1% that keep the project going... and the new low introductory price is just the fancy bait to trap new players so the can add to the 1% that will keep on buying...

Yeah a lot of people feel the same. Bunch of people have already posted similar stuff. At the end of the day... As shitty as they're treating us, and as much as I hate it, I'm gonna end up getting the DLC. If I had a PC I would just say screw it but I don't at the moment lol.
