This about sums up some of the vulgar messages Dames of Destiny received. I rarely make posts on this forum but today I felt the need to.
Having played with a few Dames on LFG and asking them about their clan so I could have an informed opinion I found out what the Dames of Destiny are all about.
It takes no longer than 10 mins of scrolling this forum to see that women by a portion of this community are regularly belittled and receive a substantial amount of abuse. That is not to say all the community do, but there is a portion. Dames of Destiny (from my understanding) was created so women had an environment where they could play the game without the risk of receiving abusive comments. Not only this, they also provide a safe environment for younger female players to play free from abuse or bigotry.
I cannot understand why people are playing the sexist card in relation to them or defending some of the comments expressed by certain individuals of the community.
If this community was filled with racist remarks would you be surprised to see clans appear that were free from racism?
I have seen several clans created which are under 16's because they feel safer playing with their age group than a more mature player is this wrong?
My clan is UK based only because logistically it is easier to play with UK based players. Are you feeling aggrieved by this?
I also play with fellow veterans in veteran only clans because they provide a relaxed environment where members can speak freely knowing other members have shared the same experiences. Is that unacceptable as well?
Personally i'm disgusted by the comments i've read and i'm well aware it's a small minority who were involved. This community has done some great things when we've come together. Standing up against bigotry should be one.
Before I get the usual 'white knight' and 'wannabe hero' comments, I wouldn't class myself as either. Having served in both Afghanistan and Iraq however, I believe in standing up against bigotry even in the face of adversity.
I'm also aware that the Dames of Destiny are more than capable of defending themselves but it doesn't mean we as a community should stand by.
Be strong enough to stand alone, be yourself enough to stand apart, but be wise enough to stand together when the time comes

Edit - Just to make clear to some of you who are jumping to false presumptions, not once in my post have I mentioned the twitch feed regarding wishyouluck. Take two seconds to look through this post and you will several comments telling the dames to go suck something. This post and a lot of my previous are anit-bigotry in all forms. Regardless if I witness homophobia, racism, sexism etc. If you take two minutes to have a look at them you will see this. It just so happens that the Dames are relevant at this moment in time and i'm disgusted by some of the comments I have read.

The thing is in online gaming u don't see anyone face to face so some people say what ever they want for a cheap laugh and don't feel bad cause they don't have to look the person in the eye it will happen everywhere there's nothing u can do about it

1 Odpowiedźto be fair about 70% of the people there probably aren't part of the destiny community.

I get it, it appears a lot folks do not. It took me years of painful experience to even try and understand "Dames". Anyone speaking negatively about them or the way they conduct themselves obviously do not have enough of that experience. It's a struggle you will not win, trust me, and if you keep it up you will lose. Please, call me a "White Knight" or a "Hero", better than being called Ignorant and Lonely.

We get it, there's dicks and trolls on the internet, big deal. This is exactly why they do it, to get a reaction out of people. Telling them they're doing something that's not right isn't going to stop them from doing it. Try telling 4chan's /b/ that what they're doing is wrong, same thing, it's what they want to hear. Just get over it.

Such an arrogant liar, don't disrespect soldiers. If you were a soldier, you'd be offended they called you a female and would be posting about that

14 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Kabr: 8/1/2015 10:26:23 AMAnother post about dames? Ugh... They doomed themselves when they made sexist women only clan, claiming it's safe environment, so they deserve all the hate they get. And this "I served USA in x and x" is stupid as fuck, because USA's aggression isn't justified, so you aren't earning anyone's respect with that line

We need a group for all the 12 year olds we shit on all the time.

I think you do need to put down that sword and shield and take off the fedora. Then join the Dames as an honorary member.
