this is directed more towards the players that will come in over the years.
I've just been wondering what's the point of the raids anymore?
Think about it. VoG was the epitome of what we could achieve then crota came out, and vanguard started selling gear on par with VoG gear.
Then how came out, voiding crota gear. With the vanguard selling level 32 gear.
So if this trend continues by year 5, I'd just be able to buy level 60 gear from the vanguard and solo all the raids
There's a lack of progression it seems.
Personally I'd make it so, you can't do crota until you do normal VoG, and no high level poe until crota was defeated.
Also in accordance with beating the raids, vanguard gear upgrades to the next level once that milestone is met.(level 29 gear until VoG is beat, then level 32 after crota is beaten)
It would still give a sense of accomplishment and to an extent make it seem as if you're guardian is growing stronger as time goes on.
Also I wouldn't have power scale down so much when facing lower level enemies.
We still want to feel powerful so another nerf to how much damage we do and how much damage we take isn't necessary especially against enemies 30 levels beneath us

I reckon the taken kings raid won't be able to be completed unless you've downed caritas. Think about it. It wouldn't make sense for oryx to fight you unless you've killed crota.

4 OdpowiedziIsn't there a weapon damage cap? Meaning even if you were level 100 you can only do a restricted amount of damage to lower level enemies. Plus it's a pretty good time if you're new to the game.
-
1 OdpowiedźI don't feel like it's supposed to stay relevant. It was a chapter in the story. Now we move to the next one
-
Obviously for newer players to enjoy
-
Atheon could be the first section. Look at the space behind Atheon, there's more than room enough to add a second section!
-
When destiny 2 comes out there will be no vog, crota etc etc
-
4 OdpowiedziIts fun

The loot. Exotic Chest/Atheon can drop Exotics, so I'd do it for that reason. Also, if Bungie doesn't step up their game with TTK, then VoG will be the only truly fun raid. Also Fatebringer, Praetorian Foil, and Praedyth's Timepiece are all rare, so people may do that just to get them.
-
I think it's inevitable that they will add multiple selections for raids, missions, etc (Lvl 30, 40, 50, etc) with rewards growing with difficulty. This is the only way the old missions, strikes, raids, etc can stay relevant.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Claireon_Call: 7/28/2015 10:16:50 PMI really wish they would rework it and release higher level versions. Have a level 45 version where you have to use the first alternate path, chests are in different locations, Gorgon maze exit has moved, etc. Hell, create new paths inside. An extra boss? Get that Vex gate at the jumping puzzle working and send us into a different area. There is a hell of a lot of squandered potential in VoG.

1 OdpowiedźBecause VoG drops the best weapons, that is how. Let's face it VoG is the best end game content Bungee released.
-
It's just fun to do with friends. Granted, as raids are released far into the future, VoG will become less of a priority, but I'm sure people will still run it for fun and nostalgia Also, there's going to be those who still don't have Fatebringer, Mythoclast, etc.
-
It's sad, because VoG was so much fun. I think they could introduce a nightmare more or something. They could also do something where Atheon and the Templar have shields that change like the Cabal boss in the Prison. For extra challenge that is.
-
I love VOG! It just feels more cooperative. All the weapons are beautiful
-
If bungie keep good on there promise of destiny being a ever changing world then it's inevitable that the current content will become irrelevant. And that's how it should be IMO.
-
It won't be and it shouldn't be.
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika Shadow: 7/28/2015 9:36:21 PMIt wont. Every new dlc (my bad expansion) kind of makes the content before irrelevant. Thier throwing away what little content they had to add the same ammount of little content they began with. So essentially the content is the same no matter how much they add unless you like running things for pure fun. Sure the vog weapons are nice but they too will loose its value soon.

6 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika mpuchar: 7/28/2015 9:18:25 PMvog will stay relevant. Maybe not for the armor, but at 365 it still has some of the best weapons in the game. I still run it at once a week, and I will probably continue to do so after ttk. Who knows what will happen in 8 years, we might not even be playing this game by then...
-
It's not. Games don't stay healthy for 10 years by making everyone run the same raids the entire time. Look at wow. Each expansion makes previous raids irrelevant for progression. The main use after that is for high level players to solo in order to get gear for transmog (you can make your current gear look like old gear if you have the old item in WoW)
-
Because its the best raid duh
-
Level 30 is gonna be xp lol
-
7 OdpowiedziYou can't solo VoG if you even tried.

-
Do you really think destiny will be relevant in the next 8 years ? Much less Vog. People are sick of this game already with all the bullshit and it only been a year.
-
People will still have to play it if they are just getting into the game. Unless they wait a few weeks untill they have a faction ranked high enough, and then to save enough marks to buy all 4 pieces of armor. It's not really any different than how any other MMO works when the cap is raised and new activities come out. If the loot tables for the "old raids" are updated with the new exotics, the raids are still a chance for 2 exotic drops.
-
It will not be around in 8 years. Destiny hopes to be, but just like halo 1, by halo 2, it was a whole new game. Nothing from halo 1 was there. Im guessing it will be the same here, all new, even if we keep our guardians in the next one. And then we will play through each dlc 1 at a time again if we choose.
