I live in the UK, I used to target shoot and shoot clays but I've never understood the need to own a gun.

Same. I know people who regularly go target shooting and own their own rifles. But they're always locked in a safe in the cellar. In the U.S. though as guns are so easy to obtain all criminals have them. Ordinary people need them to defend themselves. If you take them away from the citizens now, then the criminals still have them and the amount of crime rises
-
Self defense u bitch go eat tea and crumpets and think about life u fuc.k
-
Someone with anger issues like yourself shouldn't be permitted a gun. You're probably one of those quiet loner types.
-
Actually you probably shouldn't have judged me base off a simple text you don't see me criticizing the UK. I am actually quite good with a gun I shot and killed an elk from 400 yards away and a deer from 100 yard maybe you should think before u say something stupid douche bag. Beggars can't choosers LOL
-
What does beggars can't be choosers have do with what he said?
-
I never mentioned your country. Just that you seem a very angry, offensive person. I'm delighted you're a skilled marksman so was I in my youth. Though I've never shot anything with a heartbeat.

Becuase the UK is a bunch of pussies outside the SAS. American is dangerous dude. Big cities always have high crime rates. African Americans are completely different than Africans. On a side note I've been to London and it looks like a dirty nasty city just like any other. When your home gets broken into and your wife gets -blam!- or murder you would have wished you've owned a gun. Second of all its America. I own the land I live on so I can go outside and shoot up my car, piss on the ground and do whatever the -blam!- I want when I want, I don't live in city limits. I can own a pistol or I can own 100. People just have a fear of guns because the have no education towards how to handle way so the fear them. The same goes for alcohol and driving. Studies have shown that child inter who had a few beers with there prints at 13-15 Were extremely less like to be in a drunk driven relating accident or a alcohol related crime. The Truth is when you deprive people of something no matter what it is, when they do it for the first time then go -blam!-ing wild and crazy. If I child were to learn how to operate a safety they would not be any of this gun fear. I gun can't jump off the table and shoot someone a person has to pull the trigger. So for rant or grammar I really don't care.
-
Things just aren't the way they used to be. This day in age you can't go to sleep with your front door unlocked, much less without some form of home defense. Does everyone need to own an AR-15? No. But I believe everyone should be familiar with, and know how to safely operate a firearm.
-
You're right. Some people need to own an AK.
-
Finally! A smart person!
-
When this country was founded the primary reason they made it legal to have guns was to protect the people should the government become tyrannical. They're also useful for self defense and stuff though.
-
It's a shame that so many people must live in fear that they feel that having a gun is essential. Is there not something about being more likely to shoot a family member than an intruder or something along those lines?
-
It's not fear. I'm by no means doing this out of fear it's been reality since the dawn of time. There's a reason nations cycle. The nation overextended it's reach and the citizens revolt and create a new one
-
Except revolting won't happen anymore will it? Isn't that the point of democracy? Seems like fear to me. Fear of government, fear of assault, robbery, whatever. I just think it's actually quite sad that people feel they 'need' guns to protect themselves in the 21st century.
-
I have my guns for hunting. The protection they provide me is just a bonus.
-
Jusy because technology and tome advances, doesnt mean there wont be criminals and violent offenders. Outlaw all guns and now we are defenseless. The police cant save everybody. It takes the police longer to get to a crime scene than it takes for a pizza to get to your house. Refuse to be a victim. Strap up and carry on.
-
So I'm right? It's the fear of crime that makes people feel they need to have a gun. Kinda glad my family and I live over here if it's that bad tbh.
-
So I'm right? It's the fear of crime that makes people feel they need to have a gun. Kinda glad my family and I live over here if it's that bad tbh.
But theres nothing to fear when youre more powerful. Our criminals are 10x more dangerous than other countries. Ours are more prone to violence. Ours are more likely to stab you for 5 dollars and nasal spray. Crime is down. Its very safe over here. But when a criminal acts, most of the time its not pretty. What am i supposed to do in England if a guy comes at me with a knife? Let me stab me? In America. You can blows the guys head off and live another day Thats why
-
I don't live in England. Glad you are agreeing with me. People are frightened so they need something to take away that fear. Out of interest what do you do if someone comes at you with an even bigger or better gun than you?
-

A gun is the great equalizer. And if someone comes at me with a bigger/better gun, I fight until I die or have a chance to retreat. I refuse to be a victim. Cause the police arent kind to victims. Our police dont give a shit about victims of crime. Bud ya gotta realize the police arent there to protect you. They dont care about you, only the criminals. Thats why they have no problem killing civilians.

Even Greece fell
-
How would guns help the Greeks?
-
You're missing the point. Democracy is a great thing, but such is human nature that people get power hungry. Perfect example of this in the U.S. Is the TPP. I believe the UK has a similar alliance either passed or in the process of being passed that limits even their own governments power and the power of the people because of the way the world court system operates. He'll UK even has these "anti extremist" bills they're trying to pass that lets the government censor you or even arrest you if you say anything that can seem extreme. There goes freedom of speech right off the bat. This isn't something that just doesn't happen you don't live in rainbow land. This is happening right now and you say there's no need to expel tyranny because it doesn't exist even though it's happening right in front of your face.
-
So the people in America will taking on their government soon with all the guns they have? I'll keep an eye out for that.
-
No it's a safety measure. Do you drive a car without a safety belt? If democracy fails, which it certainly isn't perfect and it could, then I honestly wouldn't be surprised if some form of civil war would emerge
