I'm curious to see how the community feels overall about the changes. Maybe it will give Bungie a better idea about how feel and thus (hopefully) doing what the community actually wants.
Edit: General consensus seems the Black Hammer change is all around un-liked.
Edit: Someone (Crowley) made a great point about the Gally. They nerfed so people would stop hosting teams with Gally only as an option. Except now when most of those teams could make due with only a few gallys (ie Crota) they now need more of them. Thus working opposite of their intention. Sorry I can't give credit I forgot where I saw it but an excellent point I think.

So the weapons we work so hard to get (gjallarhorn and black hammer) are getting nerfed. I cannot possibly understand why this would be done. There's a reason they're so wanted. They are extremely powerful. Why make them more average? That makes absolutely no sense. You don't make the president look like a factory worker to please the whiners. That's ridiculous. Terribly played Jon. I hope you choke on a large bag of shlongs.

The three weapons that didn't need to be touched, Bungie phucked with...(thanks a lot jerks) Gjallarhorn Icebreaker Black Hammer WHY?? They're legendary/exotic for the exact reason they're useful and popular. They're also some of the hardest to RNG... The ONLY things they needed to address first and foremost were Auto Rifles and the Thorn/TLW. PERIOD. Stupid, stupid... Hey Cozmo, DeeJ...are you listening? Where in the forums did it ever say to nerf anything on those three guns.
-
Fusions nerfed too hard
-
No more final round spear bs, fusions and ARs will now be viable. there's so many people with gally that the nerf had to come some day.
-
Day one player. Two weeks ago I got black hammer after doing normal crota every week. I've wanted this weapon for so long and it's now pretty much lost all its appeal to me. Thanks. Gjallahorn. I still don't have one. I'm mostly annoyed because I'll never get to experience what it was really like. I don't think anyone's going to get excited anymore when it drops for the first time. I use lfg a lot and can honestly say I've only been kicked once for not having a gjallahorn. I'm not bothered about the "elitism" as I have done perfectly fine without with since September. So basically, they've taken a lot of the enjoyment out of these weapons. No body needs these weapons to complete any content on this ridiculously easy game.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Avid: 7/17/2015 4:09:04 PMI'm okay with the changes because I can adjust to the new meta, I'm just unhappy that I've wasted thousands of weapon parts, hundreds of motes of light, and countless glimmer re-rolling weapons for perks that are now useless. There will always be a weapon that stands out above the rest. It needs its light in the sun and then a Nerf to let new or old weapons see the light of day, but when you start modifying perks that people roll for, or in the case of veterans farmed hours for, you will get some pissed off people.

4 OdpowiedziGuardians are getting better at Skolas. How can we make it harder? Lets nerf gally and make whitenail pointless. Love it. Put it in the next patch.
-
I'm fine with it for the most part, but reducing HC mags is very unnecessary. They are already really low with the exception of 3-4 HCs and all have low ROF. This is Bungie artificially inflating play time without adding new content or AI patterns. Thanks for more time wasted doing the same things over and over.
-
I'm just glad something is changing.

Overall, most are OK decisions. However, I want Field scout to go back (I DO want the occasional 8 bullets in my LDR) Ice Breaker: ok, FINE, I understand why you might do that, but please keep it the same in PvE? Black Hammer: I understand... But make you lose 1-2 bullets instead... Gjallerhorn: unless you balance the increased impact makes it deal about the same damage, while increasing the power of all other rocket launchers

Weapon balance is something I've been anticipating for some time seeing that auto rifles have been obsolete for some time, I can't even think of the last time I used one for anything other than leveling it. But why the hell change the white nail perk on black Hammer? "Players really want black Hammer, let's weaken it." That's what I read. Seriously? That's the most illegitimate reason to nerf a weapon I've ever heard. I've never heard anyone complain about black Hammer. Everyone praises its ability to be a boss killer but still not a reason to nerf it and also not useful against various bosses, I don't use it on Omnigul, I can't get consistent head shots but let me tell you, anyone that can deserves that free ammo. And pending the burn, I might use a different secondary. There are some of the PoE bosses I couldn't imagine without Black Hammer. I'm ranting at this point, but the point is; this is a terrible nerf, you want to nerf it fine, tweak the base stats, don't take away the perk we all love. It's a raid weapon that at the time of its release was a challenge for players to get, now Crota is more of a joke, but players still have to deal with RNG. Thank you bungie for ruining one of my favorite weapons for literally no reason at all other than people want it to use against bosses, of whom are still challenges pending modifiers for nightfalls or PoE regardless. Still took me longer than it should've to kill Nexus by myself.

8 OdpowiedziJeez, why do people complain when they get what they want
-
Weapon balance is difficult to judge until it goes live. It's really hard to predict how much impact some changes will make. Kinda sad about Icebreaker. Just means it's going to take slightly longer to solo a nightfall. That's the only time I was ever sitting around waiting for it to charge.

They say they are fixing the sand box. They did take a good swing at that and might just fix their precious sand box. Then they once again ruin the pve experience by making sure we get to spend even longer pumping rounds into the tired old bullet sponges they set in front of us by taking out two high end sniper rifles and the most useful rocket launcher. Thanks I wanted to spend and extra hour shooting that boss really I did. That makes the game more challenging......not

1 OdpowiedźI'm done. Screw you Bungie. You finally fix almost everything only to screw us over with a BS update that isnt needed. WE DONT WANT TO PLAY THE GAME YOUR WAY! Get over it. This is the biggest kick in the balls yet. I have every weapon you are going to ruin. So guess what? Taken King? I'm not buying it. Destiny 2? Stick up your ass you sell outs.
-
1 OdpowiedźI just don't want to loss ammo on my handcannons lol. That and I think black hammers perk is kinda... Underwhelming now. I agree that it was broken before but I mean come on. Combine triple tap with the white nail perk and I'd be happier.

2 OdpowiedziI feel like the Gjallarhorn nerf is legit, it was so OP before, it was the only Rocket Launcher anybody wanted. It'll still be awesome for things like Crota because of Wolfpack Rounds, it just won't be as OP about it. Overall, Snipers kind of got messed with. Sure, it may have widened the pool of viable Snipers for you to use... But at what cost? Black Hammer might have been handled better, and I see where they're coming from on the IB nerf... But that doesn't mean I like it at all. I can't really comment on Final Round because I've never gotten a team together for Osiris, but it'd be nice if they buffed the precision damage in PvE to offset the hurt of no BH or IB. I love TLW buff/nerf. I, for one, rarely use the hip fire on it, when that's pretty much the point of the gun. I'll have to see how it plays out first, but it sounds good in theory. The Hawkmoon nerf is pretty lame, but, again, I can see where they're coming from. Other than that, it just feels like PvE just got a lot harder. Nerfed Shotguns, the best Snipers, and Gjallarhorn, so those meat shields just got a lot meatier. Thorn might be more useful in PvE, even if it was Nerfed for PvP. It'll be interesting to see if there will be any new must have weapons popping up, or if the above mentioned will still be the best choices, just not by as much.

1 Odpowiedźthe only thing i don't get is the black hammer nerf, white nail is the only reason to use it, if they make the it draw from the reserves then they need to increase the reserves, they're pitifully low
-
2 OdpowiedziThe handcannon gets a nerf again which means they messed up my hawkmoon and fatebringer
-
Once TTK is out im done with destiny might play pvp to trash on some noobs when i have time
-
Don't know why they're making changes to the snipers and gjallahorn. Everything else was pretty spot on I thought.
-
Fixed shotguns and autorifle. Made pulse rifles possibly even better. Black hammer thing is puzzling. Range on handcannons. Yes.

Edytowany przez użytkownika MortalGod: 7/17/2015 3:21:11 PMHappy about some, disappointed with others. The Icebreaker, BH, and Gjally, shouldn't get nerfed just because they are good and unique....you should create new guns/weapons equally good in order to use them, no render the existing ones into a piece of crap...what's the reason of using BH if it drains you bullets...or having Icebreaker loading for a minute in order to get a full mag. Also year 1 weapons will be rendered mildly useless when TTK arrives since we won't be able to upgrade them (or will we?). These balance changes should mainly affect just the PvP part IMHO, and the PvE should have been left as it is or with some minor changes that would make auto rifles competitive again. Again you make us play the game the way YOU like it which is unacceptable...with every "weapon balance" you just direct us to pick up some different weapon that will be a bit OP until the next...balance... On the other hand TLW and Thorn needed that nerf cause most of my time in the Crucible was covered in green shit, or getting sniped by TLW...which led to getting frustrated after 3 rounds of Control.

1 OdpowiedźI've got to say, Bungie is good at being a premature ejaculator. They started off really exciting with destiny and within no time, they unloaded their mess, went limp and were no longer able to perform. It's time for keagle exercises, Bungie.
-
I don't really care. I'll take a half-dozen guns into the arena on release of 2.0, find which one works the best, then use that. I'm really thinking Destiny Year 1 / Year 2 is more of a giant playtest than a finished game, so I'm now used to the constant changes.
-
Right now I'm happy, but nobody should have an opinion on it until it actually happens :/
