Sure you shook off british oppression, but only to elect your own Government to whom your slaving as much as any Country to their Governments. There is as much freedom in the US as there is in France, Great Britain, Germany or most of the other countries. But hey; welcome to Freedom. Enjoy it while it lasts. (At least, that's what I tell myself)
