Iron Banner is basically unplayable.
I've avoided getting into the "nerf this" "nerf that" debate...but Thorn has made the Iron Banner unplayable.
I just tried to play a handful of games and almost every single game 3/4 of the people were using Thorn.
Was looking forward to this IB, really wanted a Jolder's Hammer...but probably not going to even bother at this point.

*Edit 2: In response to a bunch of posts; I've tried changing up my load outs a bit, depending on the maps.
My main load out is on my Hunter atm. Red Death, Felwinter's Lie (HoW version), and Deviant Gravity-A.
The other three weapons I have been switching in and out are equipped on my Titan; Ill Will, Low Grade Humility and Ash Factory. All of the Legendary weapons, imo, have extremely good rolls and have been very helpful in leveling the playing field. This worked pretty well for me this morning when I got into a game of randoms (no full fire teams) or a game where half the team didn't leave before the game was half way over. The main reason I have been using the Deviant Gravity-A over the Ash Factory is to complete the Machine Lord bounty. I need to finish leveling the Ash Factory as I just got that a couple of days ago.

2 OdpowiedziIf you aren't used to going up against thorn yet, you haven't played enough pvp. Messenger, red death, TLW, shotgun and sniper rifles can kill just as fast if not faster.

I was using Thorn but I'm getting manhandled by shotguns , messenger and good teams.

I'm half way to rank 4 in IB currently without playing last night or today, but I play with as big a team as possible, when you've got a full team communicating and working together versus the enemy team running thorns, you can beat them pretty easily. They mainly rely on close range spamming shots, we take them at range, or we rush them harder than they can deal with. Either way it works out, Thorn has become annoying, and I get sick of it sometimes, but it can be countered and beaten with the right situational control and thinking properly.

Honestly. Just get good and stop complaining. I play a large variety of weapons and can tell you that most people wielding thorn suck at using it. My other question is why are you bitching about a gun that is so easily obtained?! If you dont like how overpowered the gun is then use it! Clearly its a beast in crucible now. Sorry to say your wimpy shadow price and vex arent useful anymore. I personally play with TLW alot and i outgun most of the people i face. I even outgun heavy ammo users.

5 OdpowiedziIt's funny how all of you guys complaining are better than me K/D wise, but you can't handle Thorn... I just can't take you seriously. I use MIDA or Gallien's Demise exclusively. Thorn can not run with a good Scout rifle.

I'm hardly seeing Thorn. I'm seeing a lot more of The Last Word. I'm seeing Red Death, quite a few MIDA, and several legendary weapons people get from ToO.

I just use red death to counter thorn. Or use thorn myself if I am lazy. Last night I was running Red Death with my hunter and got decent scores :)

People kill me like they are supposed to just have 25+ kills every round. With a 2.0+ kd.... We are all human lol .. We have different reaction times , different manual abilities when it comes to using our fingers to press buttons ... Who woulda thought that would ever come in to play when playing a video game! -_- You are gonna have good and bad rounds... The only way to remain consistent is to constantly play PVP and calibrate a rhythm ... Then you will be able to learn kill patterns and lines of sight to get kills more frequently... And your reaction to encounters will be a lot quicker... I suck at crucible modes i think my kd is barely 1.0 of that.
