Abortion illegality has historically had no positive effect on the amount of abortions carried out in the U.S. All that has happened is that more women have died from using unsafe methods, from backstreet doctors or even DIY procedures. It is also worth noting that making abortions legal [b]does not[/b] equate to encouraging them.
