When it gets to the point where one forces themselves to have fun with most of their games, it's a problem. For the past year, The Juan has been looking for a game that will be interesting, fun, and... addicting possibly? Most games don't have the same appeal they used to and even games like The Mass Effect series- which The Juan bought about a month ago- quickly burn out.
It's almost depressing now. Other gamers including family and friends get all excited for battlefront, dark souls, and fall out, but The Juan feels only skepticism. The Juan hears of others putting 90+ hours into certain games, while it loses appeal around 20-30 or so.
Perhaps it's tied to the stream of disappointments in 2014 or perhaps The Juan just needs to this replace this hobby with something else.
Any help here?
Edit 1: The Juan has no obsession with gaming in any sense. Every game just burns out interest extremely quickly. It wasn't always like this and sometimes The Juan can play for longer than a couple hours at a time. Maybe The Juan is more exoverted than initially thought?
Edit 2: Thanks for the help and thoughts everyone. There are some really cool people on b.net. The Juan feels much better now and wishes to dedicate this this topic to all gamer who share this dilemma.

Well I get to a point where I stop gaming for at least 5 hours and get back on then
-
Yeah, gaming can get old. I remember about a year and a half a go I got real bored, and at the same time took up actively watching and following anime. I had probably watched a full 30 or so series before returning to halo with my friends.
-
No we don't and you shut your whore mouth. Lmao jk it happens take a break for a bit
-
All of the cynicism on the community has burned me out and gaming haa a bad aftertaste now. Honestly I don't know what else to do...
-
Take a break. Read a book. Go for a walk. Pick up another hobby. Taking a break from gaming makes them more fun when you return.
-
Happened to me this week I got bored of most everything except for Civ 5 and SSO for a little
-
I'm still playing fallout 3. Imagine 4.... I wonder if it comes with syringes.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Homey: 7/1/2015 10:24:51 PMi spend about 2 hours a week playing games, my work is more important So I don't get bored easily

I had the same problem and played very little for about 2 years (except for a short break into eso). I got hooked again with destiny and now i seem to be getting hooked on planetside. Maybe you just need to take a break for awhile and let real life beat you down a little bit so that an escape onto the virtual world will be more desirable.

1 OdpowiedźWhenever I get bored of games (like I don't really want to play anyting, like I just don't feel like it) I do other stuff like catch up on sleep, read a book, knock out a chore or two, just do whatever and not think about games so that when I come back to them I'd feel like I want to play something I haven't played in some time.

2 OdpowiedziI don't get bored with games, but I absolutely can not play alone anymore. I try to play alone, but within minutes I am off my console. lol (Luckily I have many friends who play often.)

3 OdpowiedziAny time I feel like I want to play a game but everything around is boring.. I load up Civ 5 bnw. I literally go on a 2 week binge of that game and rediscover how awesome and time consuming it is.

I do get burnt out once in awhile where every game I pop in just bores me but I just kinda just not play anything for a little bit. Usually a month in I'm good to play again or something comes out that's awesome. Because I work 2nd shift there's not normally much to do in the middle of the night so I end playing quite a bit that's when I get burnt out.....

On occasion, but when I find myself playing with friends, the fire is relit and I'm back at ot

Edytowany przez użytkownika Gomly1980: 6/26/2015 7:20:07 PMI don't get burnt out with gaming but I do get burnt out with certain types of games. I try and have a few games on the go to stop me getting burnt out and break it up a bit. I have a main game which is my MMO, FFXIV, and then I take a few days off here and there to play other things.

3 OdpowiedziGo take up another distraction. Might I suggest something more physically engaging. I do MMA... Believe it or not but there are a lot of gamers who practice jujitsu. But if martial arts isn't your thing or anything physical for that matter (although for your health you should do something active), than try something else that's socially engaging, card games, board games etc. sometimes you just gotta take a break -_-

2 OdpowiedziDo I get bored of a certain game after strenuous hours of non stop playing? Sure. Do I get bored of gaming in general? That's like asking If I get bored of sex lol. The answer is never! When I get bored of a game, I go back to game I haven't played in years: * Age Of Mythology * RuneScape * Super Smash Bros. * Halo: Combat Evolved * Kingdom Hearts Currently I play Team Fortress 2 and I've been having so much fun but should I ever get bored of it, I 'll take a break from it for 3 - 4 years.

1 OdpowiedźSometimes. Sometimes I just get burnt out and need to take a break and write some stories or some shit like that.

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Progo: 6/26/2015 1:33:52 AMI switch genres when I get burnout. I'll play RTS games, minecraft, or racing games whenever shooters get stale. ...Or I stop gaming for a while and pursue my other hobbies.

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika ThyLordIntrovert: 6/26/2015 5:33:36 AMI play multiple games, when I get bored of one i alternate to the next one, and eventually come back to around to the first one (note there are more than just two games in my rotation) right now I am in a transition between warframe and MWO. Doing this helps prevent boredom

1 OdpowiedźI don't fall into the hype or really get too excited for games either. If a game interests me, I'll try it. Sometimes they suck me in for hours of play, other times I'll play for a bit until another game steals my attention. Usually, if I beat a game, I won't play it again. But, I also have an active social life so I don't put as much time as I'd like into some games.

1 OdpowiedźWell I don't know about you but there is one game franchise that I still have butt loads of fun with. It's called monster hunter. I've easily put 500 hours into 3u and 300 into 4u (tiny amount of time compared to others actually) but what keeps them fun to me even now. Is that for me. The intense gameplay makes me feel like I have to earn every victory. Idk about you and other people. But mass effect. The game you said. Doesn't feel rewarding at all. Sure the story is great. But compared to monster hunter. The gameplay side of it is. Very unrewarding. Feels like a drag and like with out its story. It would be a very boring game. Heck even with super Mario games while they do start easy. They become very challenging at the end. Makes me feel like a bad ass when I beat the levels. (They honestly feel more challenging than many other modern games. Actually. Nintendo still makes easy to learn games that ramp up to challenging as hell by the end just by level design alone.)

I know how The Juan feels. The same has been happening to me. I get some time to play some games, turn on the Xbox, then realize there's nothing I want to play, so I try to play some games, and they all end up boring, after only a few minutes of play. Luckily I've found that Halo: Reach has been fun, recently, though.
