"Well you and every other friend I met here came at a bad time in my life. So take a good look at me."
Akron sat back down cross legged and in turn contemplated his life as well.

With a sigh Lady watched him. His face and the contours, his eyes and their light. That moment before a flame was put out in entirety. Lady admired his soul. The grit and attitude of the man might offend, but his soul and very existence was no blight on the universe.

Akron began mumbling to himself, most of it was inaudible but a few sentences were made out "What did I do wrong Nikki? Fate always seems to be cruel to the ones least deserving of its oppression. But that's just my selfishness kicking in. But why shouldn't I be? I've thrown away my life for what?"

Lady flicks Akron on the forehead. "When did anyone deserve a life without trial and tribulation? When was any one truly deserving of anything?" "Rather... Why doesn't everyone experience hardship so that they can empathize and come alongside their fellow mankind. So that they can be taught correctly what is right and wrong, that they might help their fellow man shoulder the hardest of burdens." "For when there is an enemy to give them a chance at redemption. Look at Jay. You could have become like him, but instead your friends, the people you love stood up for you." She gently pokes his heart and head. "They were here and here. They didn't have to be alongside you in person. They just had to be there."

"Those friends also tore at my mind and heart. When they stood by my side they also....behind my back. I can't forgive Ryker for what he's done."

Lady laughs as she remembers a time when a knife was actually plunged in her own back for trusting a certain person. "Aww don't be such a snob. We aren't friends unless we grow together. No one is perfect. Everyone is progressing, it's up to those around them to help others become better people." "Of course there is more caution until proof shows itself."

She smiles a grin that says she knows much more than she lets on. "This is going to hurt. Best lie down." Her hand hovers over his face again and the spell is unbroken. Pain of an incomprehensible kind writhes back into his very being. Standing she looks at the Beacon of Light in her hand. It sees the war effort is not going well. The little light makes a request, but Lady feels that Hadra has been left alone and is far away. A discomfort clouds her features.

"Well I'm not surprised this was temporary." Akron lays back down to try and relive some of the pain that came back. He sighed for a moment then pricked up like he was listening to something "Well look at that. You got Oshirik's attention."

"Eh? His attention?" She looks back and raises an eyebrow. "Well he isn't here yet! I feel like I just got my hand caught in a cookie jar!" With the wave of a hand golden doors appear. As the open a bright light floods the area. Lady gathers her dress a bit with one hand. "The Beacon says that it can feel Armageddons energy on Terra. Mind you he is not alone."

"Good. Then we can kill it too am I right Stormbringer?" Oshirik stepped in after warping in from the shadows outside of Lady's light radius. He kept his distance from the light but stayed within earshot "Taken a particular interest in Akron no?"

She closes the doorway and the light desists. Turning to look at Oshirik she rolls her eyes and fixes her halter top. "Hmm you seem to be taking on a handful Oshirik. You are driving your own Champion to his death. Won't you stop him?"

"Well I'm the one who proposed the idea. He's not strong enough to handle Armageddon on his own so we came to this mutual agreement. Is that so wrong to seek vengeance? It is one of our base natures. None of us can control the desire. Besides, he's due at my gates. Why should I keep him waiting?"

She gestures as she speaks. "So what? He would have committed suicide if... Oh BAH you don't get to listen to a conversation between adults." A sound barrier forms around Akron. "Ok let's cut to the chase. I honestly don't have time, so be totally honest with me please?" Lady does look sincere as she takes a moment to evaluate her time and situation.

"Do ask then. Lying isn't my strongest suit anyway. But before I answer anything I must ask who you are and why you have taken a particular interest in my champion. Do take care with your words, I can sniff out a lie well."

Nodding in regard she explains herself. "Who am I? You are correct. It is best I explain a bit. My people, my race is few in number and spread far and wide over this and many other galaxy's." "We were once human with a home planet like many others. Recruited to help wage a war against an unknown enemy. We grew exponentially as a people. When the war came to a close though our allies left our side. They threw feasts as though the war was over." "It was not." "But we fought on. We had already made our enemies. In the end we dealt an ending blow, but in return one was dealt to us as well. A security system similar to using summon beasts was in the first stages of testing. The enemy gave it a target." "In one day we lost out home and nearly our entire race." She smiles a little, a sad smile on a pretty face. "I alone went to our enemy and made a truce. An everlasting one due to the casualties we had inflicted on each other." "The System still seeks and takes at whim. Whatever is left of us is just as well dying. Children born in this world are subject to destruction by the System if the parents are not strong enough to defend against it. But there are a few who seek to allow our younger generation a happier opportunity to enjoy life." "Oshirik, I want to see Nikki happy. I want to allow her a chance to enjoy the life she has. He still has a purpose in that he has life. It's something precious every breath they take." "I propose that you finish your deal with the mortal. On his dying breath he becomes one of us. My race has many laws and currently I am guardian over Nikki. She will do as I command her and I will give her to Akron." She smirks. "Maybe someday as an Immortal he will even surpass you in power? I can't say anything on his technological abilities though."

"An interesting one you are in the least. And tempting offers you bring to him. But unfortunately for you that will never happen. He is my champion." Oshirik summoned a bone white scythe and planted it firmly into the ground. "His soul is mine. Once he dies he will enter my courts and face judgement for the deeds in his life. Should his valor outweigh his sins he will spend an eternity in my realm. Should he be indicted guilty he will be punished for those sins." He looked at the still champion with firm eyes then returned his gaze to Lady "There is no immortal life ahead of him, he will die and leave this plane like any mortal should. Do not plant a hope of a life for him when there is none. Regard me as cruel if you must but it is the natural law. Mortals cannot die and return as they please. It upsets the balance. Even when I brought him back it created a massive uproar." Oshirik picked up the scythe and put the tip to Akron's chest. His soul visibly attracted itself to the scythe and almost left his body. "I will not allow this to happen. His soul is already due to me twice, and will be thrice if he follows you."

"So you will deny someone that did your bidding at least the opportunity? No I cannot consider you cruel and I wouldn't dare take him from you." "Both of our reasons are selfish, but do not look so unkindly on us humans. I was human when I took my soul back. Now... I cannot say I have all of my humanity."

"Akron is not my first champion and certainly not my last. And like every one before him they died and went to the underworld. The only reason he has received any special privilege is because of special circumstances. Those circumstances have passed and now he is to be treated as I would with any other mortal in my grasp. What gives him the right to avoid me indefinitely?"

"Love. It's very simple Oshirik... And it is your choice." She smiles kindly and treads a little closer. "Haven't you ever been in love? Isn't there anything you would do for the people you care about? As I understand it, you called this man your son. You even cared for Nikki as a daughter." "Might even I have a chance to grant this man something in return for the care he and you gave Nikki?" Inquisitively she searches Oshiriks eyes.

"No I have not been in love. I have not found time to develop such emotions, I live in the world of the dead. I see, guide and judge the dead. I am restricted to the realm of the dead. I cannot interact so directly with this living world for long periods of time so no I cannot ever love a mortal. And I will not let love cloud my judgement on deciding right and wrong." "And I will not let it keep Akron from me. Love does not grant him anything special. Almost all the souls I judge have loved and they all were treated the same." "I do not take boons from anyone, I cannot be tempted with such offers no matter what the magnitude and promise of them." Oshirik looked to Akron who had passed out from exhaustion. A small fraction of compassion spread to his eyes "I called him that because he was like me. When I saw him I saw my young self before I took the role of death. Lost, hot tempered, unbreakable will. I had millennia to correct myself, he only had a few years to. I had to correct his path before he fell into a hole he could not climb out of. That is why I called him a son. Because I felt entitled to guide him like a father....and because I felt the need for a child."
