For those that aren't aware, which should be very few of you, Eurogamer posted an article on the pricing of The Taken King and included an interview with Luke Smith.

While the article was published on the 22/6, this does not mean that this is when the interview was held. It's too convenient.
Within days of the pricing of TTK being released the amount distain amongst the community sky rocketed. Release the interview then wouldn't have effected how players felt. Why? There was no petition then.
But if they had held back on releasing it, what then? Let's assume they did hold back. What they have done is journalism brilliance! They saw the potential to further corrupt the opinion of a company and they took the gamble.

A petition came out that, in just a few days, is nearing 20,000 signatures, suddenly Eurogamer releases an article featuring an interview with Luke Smith about the pricing and how they are happy with it?
Are people so blind with hate that no one can see that Eurogaming is intentionally throwing fuel on the fire? Now, Luke Smiths answers to the questions degrades, keep in mind that some of the questions from Eurogamer are also jabs at Smith and Bungie…
This is my 2cents worth. I'm prepared for people hating me for being a "white knight", I'll say mow that my name is on that petition to get CE content without re-buying the game and DLC
Edit: DeeJ has recently taken to the Destiny sub-reddit to make a small announcement. There is currently no concrete sollutions but we can look toward the Weekly Update to hear more from DeeJ on the matters of The Taken King.
I'm going to differ to the Bungie Weekly Update, in which we'll talk more about the things we're doing to celebrate the year-one Guardians who helped us build this community. I'll also revisit our goals in offering different versions of The Taken King.
6 OdpowiedziI don't appreciate being called stupid even if indirectly.

4 OdpowiedziWhile the article came off as a complete smear job, Luke needs to work on his responses to blatant baiting.

The most insulting part was when he said "o when you see the new emotes your going to throw money at the screen" you know what dumb ass Luke Smith? We're not stupid, we can tell when we're getting screwed. The only thing we would ever throw money at wastefully is titties on a stage. (in the hopes of getting screwed) so basically LUKE SMITH your saying that you and bungie are just dirty strippers. And as far as dirty strippers that's an insult to them, as I can respect what they do. Your more like a $20 corner whore trying to trick us into paying you triple. And boy did you get caught quick. You better rethink your shit because smart money isn't pre-ordering shit. Please wipe the pole after your emote is finished.

1 OdpowiedźGreat post and I agree with the poster here definitely. Bungie isn't more bad than any other company in the gaming industry and Eurogamer has seen it fit to fuel the fire and get more hits on their page.

3 OdpowiedziThe bottom line is if the article is actually truthful or if euro gamer changed any of it to make bungie look worse. Fact or fiction. If it's truthful it still doesn't much change anything perhaps slightly few people would be mad but there would still be quite a lot of angry people.
