Explain how thorn is not over powered
Only hand cannon that can guarantee a 2 shot kill. Every other HC needs luck in the chamber to do it.
If you kill the scrub using it the poison still kills you which is just stupid.
*waits for scrubs that rely on this crutch to cry*
*Edit - why don't you scrubs answer how it's not over powered instead of throwing your toys out like babies?

Its simple really. TLW owns thorn noobs every time. Especially if you use a ram warlock. Tip for every whining little bitch. Learn to USE the last word. Better than thorn. Simple as that.

Well the people who use Thorn are using a gun that's been implemented in the game, and was buffed. Before Thorn got buffed, it was terrible. The DoT perk is not overpowered, and is the most fitting perk. It only two shots for headshots. Just use red death to counter it and heal up before the DoT kills you.

The last word is a two shot when hip firing and you get precision shots. Red Death is also very good at countering it. Don't complain, just find a play style that counters it

12 OdpowiedziThorn is not over powered because I don't have it and I have killed many people that wield it. If someone has to use a poison effect weapon because they can't finish the job head to head then that's fine by me. It simply means the headshot I killed them with before I died by poison was better than what they could come up with.

10 OdpowiedziIt's not op cause everyone can get it, and it's just a jack of all trades so it will always have a weakness, but is strong in all areas, I can't even recall the last time someone 2 shotted me, it's like NLB some one could one shot you if you stood still but if your on the move it's very unlikely

Thorn was my first exotic I am a day one player. People seem to forget that back when Thorn had 6 rounds and a [i]very[/i]slow reload, we all complained that it needed a buff. And badly so. Bungie comes along and gives it to us. I loved my new Thorn 2.0 and used it religiously in Crucible. It seemed to be a mere handful of them circulating around the player base and rightly so, considering how difficult the bounty can tend to be. So why does everyone complain now. Why didn't they complain earlier?

Months later, 70-80% of people are using the exact same hand cannon in the game mode that a huge portion of the DLC was built around... Crickets... Auto rifles need buffed, scout rifles need a minor buff, and Thorn needs to be looked at and have its poison rounds factored into its TTK value. It's no better than other hand cannons when it comes to kills related to actually landing shots. But that's not why most of the community is using it. They're using it because you can get kills 5+ second after the last shot is landed.

9 OdpowiedziTrust me my friend I am waiting on that serious thorn nerf. I'm a day one top 25 player. And I'm sick of it. Crutch ass weapon. All you see in trials. Terrible. Ruins the game. I can't wait when it's nerfed and I'm standing their with my hawkmoon untouchable because the kids can't trade with me now after I out gun them in a fight

3 OdpowiedziIt's sure as hell op, but it's also an exotic. Exotics we supposed to be good. If thorn like every other hand cannon it would be exotic. So yes it's op but it shouldn't get nerfed, it should stay exactly how it is because of how hard it is to get and also there's the whole exotic thing

It's used more than Suros ever was. It gets used by at least half the players every single ToO map. My only guess as to why it hasn't received the Suros treatment is that the weapons balancing team uses it a a primary themselves. I'm tired of it. If you're not using Thorn or TLW you're just putting yourself at a disadvantage. I have a vault full of weapons I'd like to use without being at a disadvantage.

I don't think it's OP it's just too multipurpose. The range coupled with the fire rate and DOT makes it a monster. I get outgunned all the time by TLW at close range but then I just take a few steps back and have the advantage. It has a lot of ways to tackle a problem. I like to compare it to the Mythoclast, back when I started using that my games were getting better mostly because of the gun. With Thorn I'm not seeing much of a difference, even when I'm not using Thorn I don't care if somebody else is because I know it's not always a Herculean effort to kill then, where as the Vex would melt you before you could really get off any bullets. I guess part of the reason I don't mind do much about the Post Mortems is that death is very nearly unavoidable in the Crucible anyway

6 OdpowiedziI don't think Bungie knows how to specifically go through the code and nerf only Thorn. There will be game breaking side effects. They will always end up either over doing it or completely screwing up the entire process. I'll be waiting with the popcorn to watch the further hilarious changes.
