Thorn used by half of ToO
50% of weapons used by winners in Trials was thorn. Bungie was quick to act when suros was the most used, what's with the holdup, Deej?
Heres the list to check for yourself. No land beyond was higher than Suros and someone won with Khovostov. Credit to SpiffyJr on Reddit, i found the image originally on Twitter.

Edit: this isn't a thorn cri post, i have one and use it here and there. This is a post attempting to bring light to the fact that the guns are horribly unbalanced in Destiny pvp. Im a sniper, please keep using shotties doesnt matter to me. However, fusions are terrible, shotties run crucible along with handcannons and everyone just wants to say "stop with the nerfs!!"

So basically 20% of people trying to do a bounty is unacceptable, but 50% of people using a gun is perfectly fine. LOL

3 OdpowiedziI think 50% is probably inaccurate. I don't think I've played against someone in the Trials yet that wasn't using Thron. I've seen maybe 4-5 people use Red Death instead but it's extremely rare. That number has to be higher.

24 OdpowiedziFor thorn to kill quickly you need 2 head shots and it still takes the thorn dot to finish the job.... Hawkmoon can and has always been able to 2 shot and sometimes 1 shot people... Vex is crazy fast at killing folk if used properly and red death stops the thorn dot if you get a kill. Thorn takes skill to kill quick and is pretty easy to avoid.

They don't need to buff the thorn that's stupid you go through all that work trying to get the dang gun all they need to do is make the burn go from 5 burns to 3 and stop making it stack

1 OdpowiedźGetting team-shot by Thorns is instant death. Not a huge (or good) pvp player in Destiny by any stretch of the imagination but I kinda like everyone running around with HCs. Every other shooter is dominated by ARs and SMGs. It's a fun change for someone who primarily plays pvp in CoD or Battlefield, at least for me.

2 OdpowiedziI like thorn but prefer last word or hawkmoon, there is many ways to go against thorn... Stop crying the bounty is hard so the weapon is good, or want it back as it was day one (6shots and useless?)...

They nerfed the auto rifles to create weapon diversity which made them useless. Diversity should mean all weapons have a fighting chance and get I'm shooting peas out of a straw now, even in PvE. As for the Thorn, they buffed it because it wasn't worthy to be called an exotic. I understand this but it literally is only used because the DoT. Yes I think it should be nerfed. They nerfed the Vex and the pocket infinity, both of which are exotics so please tell me why they shouldn't nerf the Thorn just because it is exotic. All the dumb things the developers did in trying to "balance" weapons created a large gap between what weapons are actually useful in the crucible. And people wonder why players run around with Shotguns? You nerfed the only other special weapon. I'm not counting snipers because they generally do not serve the same purpose in PvE. At least with a shotgun, the Thorn means nothing. Bungie's stupidity with their nerfs and buffs of the weapons is why people will cry about players running around with shottys.

Its nit really that thorn is over powered, its more that bungie have either nerfed the good weapons to their grave or theyre simply shit and nit good enough to compete. I would love to use suros but bungie cant balance to save their lives.

I use Thorn from time to time as well. I just want to see an auto rifle buff.

15 OdpowiedziAll people do is cry about everything on this game if you don't like it don't play it. Thorn is not overpowered at all last word beats it all day long 1 v 1 using blink and shot gun will destroy it as well. Stop camping and run around you will find you don't get killed by it often. I'm a fairly decent pvp player and I don't really like using thorn because it's so slow.

Let em us it. It is not thorn that kills me very often. In fact I win most thorn encounters because they are over confident of the weapon.

I ran trials all weekend. I ran into thorn nonstop. I'm not saying one or two. The whole team. It's op. You're kidding yourself if you think it's balanced.

It's not thorn that's the problem... It's thorn coupled with TRIGGER STOP. Until that is addressed trigger stops will be used on the next weapon down the order which has the best ttk, ad infinitum.
