50% of weapons used by winners in Trials was thorn. Bungie was quick to act when suros was the most used, what's with the holdup, Deej?
Heres the list to check for yourself. No land beyond was higher than Suros and someone won with Khovostov. Credit to SpiffyJr on Reddit, i found the image originally on Twitter.

Edit: this isn't a thorn cri post, i have one and use it here and there. This is a post attempting to bring light to the fact that the guns are horribly unbalanced in Destiny pvp. Im a sniper, please keep using shotties doesnt matter to me. However, fusions are terrible, shotties run crucible along with handcannons and everyone just wants to say "stop with the nerfs!!"

Aceebro:
>30% of players use the Suros Regime during a game mode where there's a bounty to get headshots with auto rifles
>nerfed into the ground
>50% of players use Thorn in a game mode where the whole point is to use you best gear
>nothing
The hypocrisy is delicious.
So basically 20% of people trying to do a bounty is unacceptable, but 50% of people using a gun is perfectly fine. LOL

2 OdpowiedziExcellent post on explaining the time to kill for thorn and TLW
-
-
2 OdpowiedziIt's not that Thorn is too strong. It's just that most other weapons aren't very good. Hawkmoon > Thorn, always.
-
I agree. They were pretty darn quick to act when Suros Regime was the most used. But this time they appear to have tucked their tails between their legs and hid away.
-
Make thorn poison for precision shots only. Problem solved.
-
YESSSSSSSS!!
-
2 OdpowiedziBecause of how this type of mode plays, about spacing and control hand cannons are well suited, thorn happens to be one of the better hand cannons. Look at regular Crucible, the flow of players is less predictable and spawns more chaotic, add the extra players and HC are less dominant. It has to do with this type of game mode, not the users or gun. If it wasn't thorn it would be last word, nerf last word and then it would be Ill Will with small mag and luck+final round.

I love thorn

1 OdpowiedźWow. That's ridiculous

12 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Spaceman: 6/19/2015 2:44:20 AMSo 50% of wins are with Thorn... 44% of losses are with Thorn? I hate to say it, but yes it's the most used weapon, but if it's nerfed you could just refill that data sheet with the next best weapon being 50%. The problem is defense and armor. Buff that, make gun fights last twice as long... and all weapons could once again be significant.
-
They were not quick to act on suros... It was only after vex got nerfed did the flood gates open...
-
Hahaha Khvostov = 0.01%
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika DirtyShizno: 6/19/2015 6:52:35 PMI think OP is being a bit generous when you say it's used by 50%. I'd bet the percentage is significantly higher. But then again, it's also in the mix with secondary and heavy. I'll bet it much higher than 50% for primary.
-
12 OdpowiedziLET ME EXPLAIN WHY THATS BULLSHIT. 50%. No. Of all the hand cannons, all shotguns, all snipers, all scout rifles, all pulse rifles, all rocket launchers, and all machine guns, you really expect me to believe that Thorn is used more than all other weapons combined? Sorry, but that's bullshit.
-
2 OdpowiedziI'm surprised the hawkmoon is #8
-
1 OdpowiedźLook at that shotgun to sniper ratio! It would've even lower if there wasn't final round
-
I don't know that I'd say they were quick to act on Suros. They nerfed all autos but it took awhile, I'm sure they are working on the next round of weapons balancing.
-
Hawkmoon beats both Thorn and Last Word. Those stats don't account for Hawkmoons perks. I 1 shot and 2 shot plenty in crucible. Also at a distance those inferior handcannons aren't even in the same league, might as well use a sidearm.
-
6 OdpowiedziWait wait wait wait ...who the -blam!- uses Gjallarhorn in crucible are they retarded or something?
-
3 OdpowiedziIdeally what you want is the most popular PVP weapon being at the 20% mark. There will ALWAYS be a most popular weapon in games but it shouldn't be 50%. Also the fact that MIDA is far and buried down the list shows the need for a re-balancing. Scout Rifles currently lose out to hand cannons at range which is ludicrous. The primary weaponry conundrum shouldn't be this difficult to figure out. In general there should be two scales that work in opposite directions Power and range Power should be Hand Cannon>Pulse>Scout>AutoRifle Range should be something like Scout>Pulse>HC>Auto There are also hidden stats so even a high range hand cannon relates to range versus other hand cannons and not other weapon types. Currently I am able to near snipe people with hand cannons.

Another one of these posts .-.
-
I still don't understand why it was buffed in the first place. It's low mag and slow reload made you actually have to be good in order to not go 1:1 on a constant basis.
-
Thorn is not the problem we need to have other weapons buffed to counter Thorn. How fast we forget Thorn was trash not to long ago. In PVP players will always go to the OP weapon.
-
6 OdpowiedziYeah then when you crybabies get thorn and last word nerfed, hawk moon will be most used and "OP". Just saying, nerfing everything that people can shoot with won't help. There will always be an "OP" weapon no matter what is nerfed. Crying and bitching on the forums won't help

1 OdpowiedźI think Elementary school and middle schools just got out for summer a week or 2 ago... So I'm not surprised by the sudden increase in thorns. :)
