Just ran VOG for the first time and...
It was completely unenjoyable. Not the gameplay, mind you, but with the experience using LFG to find people and then actually playing with those people.
I had no idea what I was doing and saw that someone needed people for Templar checkpoint in VOG Hardmode. I joined up with 5 other people just to have 4 quit after the Templar part. They all ran off into some cave and grabbed an exotic chest. I didn't even know that was a thing. So, I missed out on that exotic chest. No big deal, that's my fault. Then It was me and another guy trying to show me how to jump from one disappearing platform to another. We get to whatever the hell the next area is and we proceed to get just murdered over and over again. Keep in mind, I have no idea what the hell I'm doing.
So this guy jumps on LFG trying to track down more people. One guy hops into our fireteam, says "thanks for the checkpoint" and leaves. Classy guy.
Next, a buddy of the last remaining guy joins up and they proceed to start talking about porn the entire time as we get nothing accomplished. After 45 minutes of just dying repeatedly at the gatekeeper part I turned off the Xbox and did something else.
I have no words for this experience.
EDIT: UPDATE: I was lucky enough to find a group of guys to run me through normal and then hard modes of VOG. I can't say I was able to contribute much, but they never complained and helped me as much as they could. Hard mode was much more difficult to get through and I'm pretty sure I died more than anybody else. But, these guys got me through it and never bitched. To those guys, thanks

6 OdpowiedziWell I think you did a couple things wrong. You shouldn't have joined a checkpoint nor a checkpoint on hard for your first time. Also you didn't miss out on that chest. It'll be there if you get back to that point. I'm always looking for new good players to teach so let me know what console you're on and we'll see if we can get you in with a much better team.

The LFG is hit or miss some times I have not had to many problems with it

2 OdpowiedziHey man I have done the raids before and I know what you are talking about fortunately I made some pretty good friends on destiny...... unfortunately though most of those friends have moved on to other games so anytime you need a helping hand send me a shout out and go ahead with a friend request and if I am on the same time as you (since I have a full time job) I will gladly help :)

I'm glad you learned your lesson. The lesson and point I'm making: Get onto lfg, select NORMAL and run the raid first. I don't care it's level 26. The mechanics and teamwork in VoG is more important then you being able to shoot something. Anyone with experience in VoG would have told you that.

1 OdpowiedźIf you are on PS4 message me and you can run with our group. This is the best raid of the game and was the only reason I kept playing. Trust me, when you get with a group of experiences raiders that aren't @$$bags it is very rewarding.
