What makes the Flood different than the hive is sentience. Flood are under no intelligence except for the Gravemind. The Hive are, individually at least, smarter, in a sense. The mindlessness of the Flood helps at the sheer terror to them

Is it me or were the Flood easier to deal with in 3 than CE and 2. Then again, I basically binge-played through MCC (I started Halo with MCC, woo-hoo) I dunno.

>I was six years old when Combat evolved Came out >My dad let me play Co-op with him on Legendary >We get to 343 Guilty Spark (The first flood level) >Im pretty naive to everything. Not paying attention to what the Marines were screaming about on the pelicans radio. >My dad is the one thats noticing the creepiness of the level. >We get down to the room where the "crazed marine" is shooting at us. >I ask my dad why the marine shot at us, and he says "He went crazy or something" >We get to the cutscene of the Marines fighting the flood. >I get pretty scared when I see the infection forms jumping on the marines. >I ask my dad if those were the covenant and he says no. >The banging on the doors starts and all of the infection forms start coming in. >I spray down a large group of them and i was so scared out of my mind Im jumping all over the room making sure those little shits dont touch me. >My dad died by one of the combat forms, I run laps around the room trying to get him to respawn. >He respawns finally and we both run out of the room. >At this point im so freaked out and my hearts beating so fast >We get to the room where the flood and covenant are fighting and I was pretty confused, for a minute i thought they were on our side. >Eventually we found shotguns and it was pretty cool mowing down the flood with them however i was still scared shitless >We beat the level and we weren't eager to find out the next level, "The Library" was also full of flood. >To this day I still don't play the flood levels by myself.
