What happened to all the good music that was being created? I feel like all this shit that people listen to regularly is terrible. Why are all of these terrible songs like the selfie song so popular now? Someone explain why shit like Iggy Azaela is popular.

"Rap rhymes with crap" the kids now a days are complete crap.

Older people think that new music is crap for one simple reason : nostalgia goggles. The older music that survives that people listen to is not the shitty stuff, it's the best of it's generation. The younger crowd listens to the new crap and helps filter out the shit. Given time you will realize that there were some good songs from this time period.

3 OdpowiedziBecause humans are considered to be dumber then the last one. Our generation created "swag", "yolo", "twerking", and other terrible things. This music that is popular is ear-piercing. I personally like to stick the 70s-80s. Pink Floyd, The Who, and many one-hitters is what I stick to. Also, Martin O'Donnel which is my favorite gaming composer of all time.

1 OdpowiedźIt's always been like this. The good stuff is always harder to find. Turn off the Top-40 radio station and make a Spotify account to find new music.

1 OdpowiedźPopular music isn't even music beside the singer. The beat is created by electronics now instead of real instruments. (Rock doesn't count I'm mainly talking about pop)

Becaus of shows like American idol and the voice. Trying make people chase fame rather than creating content and devolving their creative voice as an artist. These things, motivations, have always been present in the music business. But now it's more powerful and more mechanized. Trying to get people to choose style over content. The artist has sold himself out before he's ever set foot on a stage.

I think it's just evolution of music trying to find what people like nowadays. Your perception could easily be different from what is being produced most now. Because to some it sounds good. But I'm with you when you say modern music is total shit. That's why I listen to groups like the Blues Brothers.

22 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika GarrisonWhite2: 6/8/2015 2:13:16 AMPopular music has always been awful and shallow. Granted, there have been exceptions, like The Beatles. There's some great bands/artists out there right now: House of Heroes Fall Out Boy The Black Keys Jack White Avenged Sevenfold Neon Trees The Script Foster the People Florence + the Machine All Time Low Mumford & Sons Imagine Dragons fun.
I can't believe I forgot fun.....
82 OdpowiedziBecause kids of this generation are sheep. They no longer think for themselves, they see that something is popular & they flock to it so they can be "cool." Having a actually conversation with then is painful, they're all sensitive & think they're entitled to everything without having to lift a finger. This generations mentality is, "i participate, so I get a medal." The standards just keep getting lower.

Happily not all music is bad these days. I listen to heavy metal and punk rock and it just as amazing as it was 10 years ago. But I do agree, some of these popular songs coming out give me migraines

8 OdpowiedziThen stop looking for music using your radio! Holy -blam!- the constant bitching about "boohoo this generation of music sucks". Look for it and you'll find it. The music wont come to you.

The new generations are terrible. Terrible people choose to listen to terrible things. Also, Al the good artists are dead and or forgotten.

All the people who wrote good music died

The following disappeared from the radar: * Chingy * Bubba Sparxxx * Mobb Deep * Lil' Flip Some are slowly making a comeback DMX keeps getting locked up, these guys don't get enough recognition: * 8 Ball & MJG * Goodie Mobb * Z-Ro * Phife Dawg * N.O.R.E. * Twista * Mystikal * Juvenile Meek Mill, MGK, Drake and Jeremih are the only new decent artists I've heard in the last few years. Eminem, Nas, Pastor Troy, Lloyd Banks and Jay-Z still doing the damn thing (go ahead, hate on me all you want for mentioning Jay. I don't care if he's mainstream, dude goes in) The quality of Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Ja Rule and 50 Cent's latest music has noticeably decreased to me. tupac gets too much recognition and hype.

6 OdpowiedziThere has always been shitty music You just never hear of shitty bands from the 6Os, 7Os, or 8Os because...well they were shitty There is still good music today I find kids who say "why has music gotten so bad" pretty cringy because they weren't alive during the "good ages" of music so they can't say You honestly think Justin Bieber will be remembered? No Only the good bands get remembered and the shitty bands get left behind Which is why everyone thinks that no shitty bands existed back in the 8Os There is good music today The Strokes, Radiohead, Interpol ect I find the fact that you guys let these teenage fad consumers dictate the quality of the music industry pretty sad

I have no idea man. It's embarrassing that this is my generation's music. I was born in the wrong musical era
