Thorn is a Crutch
I know all the Thorn babies are gonna get bent out of shape about this but overall, it takes little skill to kill in PvP with this thing.
Before all the kids go "You're just jealous cause you don't have it", check yourself m8. I do have it and I prefer not to use it cause I'd like to have some sort of integrity.
If the burn was shortened, the RoF was lowered just a bit and the mag size was returned to 6, the gun wouldn't be any more broken than any other gun.
Who here is tired of the Green Sh*t Shooter? :D
EDIT: I love how the kids in opposition don't counter my argument by stating that Thorn is not overpowered xD
EDIT: I personally did not expect so many replies :O from the comments that I've seen, the general nerf wanted is:
•slower rate of fire
•decrease range
•have burn stop when user gets killed
•decrease time of burn
Also I love seeing the arguments against me saying that I should do certain things and fighting thorn becomes a cake walk. I know how to play peoples, had the game since week 2 xD just saying there are little working tactics against a team with 4+ Thorns (basically every IB game right now)

2 OdpowiedziI use the thorn and last word because everyone else does, there both badly overpowered. I can do well without the thorn and l/w but I can do better with them. Let's say on average I get 21-ish kills a game using non-op weapons, I'd probably add another 7-8 on to that using thorn and l/w, (those numbers will change based on how good you are obviously but it's still true for everyone), when I go up against people using auto rifles and bad hand cannons there's no contest, when I go up against other thorns/last words and red deaths there's an even contest and who ever is better wins. I play crucible for the bounties, I can get the bounties done faster using guns that are easier to use. If I'm bored and I want a challenge I'll use my summoner or salvation state etc, most of the time I like an easy run through of bounties so I stick the best weapons. Most of the time I don't even feel over-powered because everyone else is running similar weapons (thorns, red death, last word) and to quote the incredibles," if everyone's super, than no one is". When I kill someone not using op weapons I can't help but wonder what's the point? If you like the challenge than that's perfectly fine nothing wrong with it. But telling people to stop using op guns defeats the purpose of gun variety, the strangers rifle is better than the three little words, the three little words is better than spare change .25. There are little differences between these three guns but the result is always the same, but you never hear of anyone calling for a patch for the strangers rifle? Only when the difference becomes large do we hear the word OP getting shouted. There will always be good guns and bad guns, once the now OP guns get patched more will rise, as is the way of all balancing, it's inevitable. If everyone used thorn there would be no problem. But because people enjoy variety there will always be a situation where people want balanced variety for themselves alone.

First, I will say that it should have 6 rounds, with a slower reload. With less range. Perhaps just remove send it, and give out a speed reload perk that gives it the same reload speed that it has now. This means that there would be less looking range 2 shot kills. More range fall off, with smaller crit hit box. Thorn cannot and should not be nerfe d alone. TLW is worse than thorn is. It needs less range, and a lower ammo count as well. I get 2-3 shot killed by it at scout range in less time than I can even land 2 scout shots. Vex already took another nerf, so boo comment about that. But Red death would then be the next abused gun. And where does it stop? There will always be a weapon being called for a nerf. I just feel that tlw and thorn are effective too far outside of their range. TLW should have similar range to the dynasty, with a much more dramatic fall off than it has. I do not want a blanket hc nerf like we got last time, that only made more players go to thorn and TLW. And dot should not stop if you kill the thorn user. You still have a thorn in your side with poison. Only red death users can stop the dot with a kill...

Tbh I do get a bit annoyed going against Thorn....but I see why people use that gun almost exclusively now. I recently picked up my first one and unlocked the DoT perk....did a few matches with it and scored well. I ended up switching back to TLW (my main) though just because I'm used to it, and do better with it than I did with Thorn.

Yeah it's annoying to get killed by it (at least half my deaths yesterday and today have been from thorn) annoying that killing the user with red death doesn't stop the burn (it should) not to mention that it's stupid that I get outgunned when I'm unloading jolders into a doorway and a thorn user just runs through the bullets and kills me in 2 shots (while I'm still holding the trigger down and pointing directly at em)

Tlw: most op, kills faster than any lmg: -remove perfect balance -remove ads bonus damage Thorn: TTK has always been the same- even when it sucked. Slow reloads and remove one round from the mag so that shots count.

Let's be completely honest here... Your completely stupid for not using a gun that's better than most in crucible. Just because you want some "integrity" won't stop me from using thorn. If bungie gives us a gun that clearly excels in PvP, why wouldn't I use it? I don't care if it's "OP" (which it isn't, I can kill anyone using thorn with a number of weapons).

What's the option? Getting run up on by a shotgun user, which is what the remaining population seems to think is the only legitimate strat? I would personally love more versatility.
