The most common posts, and the most active threads, are requesting optional matchmaking for Trials of Osiris and Prison of Elders. Moreover, all of the independent reviews that I've read of the House of Wolves specifically, and the broader game in general, question your baffling decision not to include optional matchmaking throughout.
I have yet to see a cogent argument against optional matchmaking, yet every day many people present well-articulated arguments for it. Optional matchmaking would enhance the experience of thousands of players every day, and would negatively affect none.
You say you listen to us, so let's see it.
Edit: See DeeJ's comment below.
Edit 2: A few folks have suggested what I've been thinking for a while now, that Bungie's refusal to add matchmaking to end-game content is nothing more than a scheme to artificially pad playtime. This is a tactic used to disguise the lack of meaningful content. While I don't wear a tin foil hat, I have NO DOUBT that Bungie knows that with matchmaking, many more of us would finish end-game content, and recognize there isn't much there.
Edit, 22 June: By now, many of you have read the EuroGamer interview with The Taken King Director, Luke Smith. If you haven't, I suggest you do. I'm so disgusted with his glib attitude - which seems viral at Bungie HQ - that I'm nearly speechless. Nearly.
Edit, 26 June: I still love playing multiplayer with my sons, but have zero interest otherwise. I have a bunch of unleveled gear that will rot, as far as I care.
Now, my interest has turned to trying to keep Bungivi$ion's money-mongering, player-gouging tactics from becoming the norm for game publishers.
The loudest noise I can make is that of my wallet closing.
Edit, July 24: Bungie's campaign of censorship and propaganda should disturb each and every one of us. These tactics have been used for centuries by governments and companies to sell "lies" to the masses, and to pit neighbors against each other.
Edit, September 13: With a handful of nechrobumps today, this oldie-but-goodie hit 2000 replies!

4 OdpowiedziToo bad so many people still play this trash. The general populace must like unbalanced, cheap, shitty games. If you watch any interviews with any bungie employe/CEO, they're all dodgy and won't directly answer a simple question. Bunch of fucking lazy pieces of shit is all they are. Fuck you bungie. Fuck you for not caring about your game or community. Fuck you for only wanting to fill your pockets.

5 OdpowiedziThere's already the issue of drops, AFKers, communication, etc., in the existing matchmaking. They are certainly not going to add it to higher end content.

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Allenes: 7/10/2015 1:45:41 PMMatchmaking ruins communities, turns the game into a more solo affair, seen it in many other online games that have added it in. The more effort you put into finding a group yourself, the more you'll get out of it. If the group you've found is good, chances are you'll all add each other and play together on more than one occasion. This is what Bungie are trying to achieve, they're promoting teamwork and tactics, tight knit groups, lasting bonds with other players etc. That's something you're not going to get with matchmade activities, look at the weekly strikes for example, extremely rare that anyone ever talks while doing those in matchmaking, in turn leads to you never playing with that person again. That said, I can see matchmaking working on a basic level, for example adding an easy mode to raids and having them matchmade, it would serve as a nice introduction to raiding much in the same way PoE does with its easy mode. I can't see this working with the harder difficulties though, it will just promote more bitching and whining in these forums (there is already enough of that) about how hard the game is or why xx player is away for the entire time.

They've explained why they don't have OMM for endgame activities. Whether you agree or not is another thing all together though. The reason they've stated that there is no endgame OMM is because they believe it would ruin the experience for the players using it. I get where they're coming from, trolls and afker's are already extremely prevalent in strike playlists and the weekly heroic, now imagine how negatively they would affect your experience in a HM raid or 35 PoE where one person dying will likely cause you to wipe. I also get where the people asking for it are coming from, better to at least have a shot to experience it than none at all. I'm not against it, but I do think that if they implement it, the people using it will have a rough time.

14 OdpowiedziThis is possibly the worst complaint thread I've read yet. Why didn't they include matchmaking you ask? Bungie intended to have players play endgame content with their friends, and the true value of Destiny is within the experiences you share and create with those friends. It wouldn't be the same with a voiceless group of randoms. They'll never include matchmaking, because it simply defeats the purpose of a raid, and if you can't realize that, then move on to another game.

17 OdpowiedziI agree. There IS no cogent argument against OPTIONAL matchmaking beyond simply Bungie imposing restrictions on the way they want players to enter certain games. Both optional and non-optional have advantages and disadvantages, and one isn't any better than the other - they're both valid

2 OdpowiedziIf you believe it is fair that we deserve to not only get answers on these and other player concerns and that the community should have actual interaction with Bungie on these forums instead of the "we're listening" crap we get, please tell Bungie we're tired of them sabotaging this great game and don't log in on Bungie Day 7/7 https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/132919434/0/0
