The most common posts, and the most active threads, are requesting optional matchmaking for Trials of Osiris and Prison of Elders. Moreover, all of the independent reviews that I've read of the House of Wolves specifically, and the broader game in general, question your baffling decision not to include optional matchmaking throughout.
I have yet to see a cogent argument against optional matchmaking, yet every day many people present well-articulated arguments for it. Optional matchmaking would enhance the experience of thousands of players every day, and would negatively affect none.
You say you listen to us, so let's see it.
Edit: See DeeJ's comment below.
Edit 2: A few folks have suggested what I've been thinking for a while now, that Bungie's refusal to add matchmaking to end-game content is nothing more than a scheme to artificially pad playtime. This is a tactic used to disguise the lack of meaningful content. While I don't wear a tin foil hat, I have NO DOUBT that Bungie knows that with matchmaking, many more of us would finish end-game content, and recognize there isn't much there.
Edit, 22 June: By now, many of you have read the EuroGamer interview with The Taken King Director, Luke Smith. If you haven't, I suggest you do. I'm so disgusted with his glib attitude - which seems viral at Bungie HQ - that I'm nearly speechless. Nearly.
Edit, 26 June: I still love playing multiplayer with my sons, but have zero interest otherwise. I have a bunch of unleveled gear that will rot, as far as I care.
Now, my interest has turned to trying to keep Bungivi$ion's money-mongering, player-gouging tactics from becoming the norm for game publishers.
The loudest noise I can make is that of my wallet closing.
Edit, July 24: Bungie's campaign of censorship and propaganda should disturb each and every one of us. These tactics have been used for centuries by governments and companies to sell "lies" to the masses, and to pit neighbors against each other.
Edit, September 13: With a handful of nechrobumps today, this oldie-but-goodie hit 2000 replies!

7 OdpowiedziDude they're just a game company, sue them if you're that made at them.

3 OdpowiedziHave you seen how CdProjektRed treat their players? It's phenomenal. I'm not just talking about 16 free dlcs. They listen. They have given us everything we wanted in updates. The game was released 2 months ago and they have just ticked the last thing off of the list from their communities 'wants' and the game is better because of it. I can tell you for one I will support this development team until the end.. or get bought out by activision..

1 OdpowiedźMatchmaking if you want to play with a friend you will invite him then go into the playlist. It's that easy. If you are missing one it will add one to the playlist how hard is that? Sounds like regular pvp and iron banner?

Yup. Divide and conquer. War 101

10 OdpowiedziMatchmaking is a terrible no good icky idea. It will destroy raids. Do you use a mic in crucible or on strikes? Most people do not. This lack of communicating is the counterproductive to success. I play with forum groups all of the time. Totally random players. It works because we all use mics and can boot players. Try posting on the forums for a group. It's easy.

1 Odpowiedźbut it will break the game if they add in optional lfg like search options on any multiplyer activity, cause then they wouldnt have to increase traffic to third party websites to use lfg. why cant you fools see that taking extra time looking for a group, from minutes to sometimes hours, is what fun is all about. become legend or something

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika WINTER PROPHET: 7/25/2015 1:20:15 PMFF to 15m40sec in video to see reference. Last I checked nobody asked for Bungie to find us "friends". If Derek asked "Is there food in the fridge?" would the accurate response be "I can find you the fridge, it's not my job to feed you." Derek didn't ask to be fed nor have food bought for him in this example, so presuming he expected it would be a snob thing to do. And in a game where the developer doesn't even support their own PVP with dedicated server support, with decade old peer to peer, it explains the atrocious amount of horrible lag and all the terrible trials footage on YouTube.

It will have some negatives, much like strikes do, trolls, people going ideal, lack of mics, underlevel players, ect. However, I do agree with you.

1 OdpowiedźThey wont put in optional match making because by forcing team building they necessitate forum an app communications or more importantly; Get you the player to recruit people in real life to buy the game so that you can have fire team mates
-
2 OdpowiedziYou should mention how long Bungie is making us wait for the new weapon tuning.

1 OdpowiedźYea as long as it's optional. I understand that they want people to form groups that will have more success but honestly, finding random people on lfg and the forums is the same as matchmaking... still randoms.

Personally destiny needs a lobby system. Where I could create a hard crota run. People would get dropped into my lobby from matchmaking and before I start the game I can boot them for the option of better players or players with mics.
