Fatebringer deals inconsistent damage with the explosive rounds perk equipped. I have a series of videos here demonstrating the inconsistency against level 30 enemies all, done at light level 32 with the perk equipped and unequipped.
It does damage as expected against Hive enemies. However, as you will see in the videos, it applies a bonus in terms of damage against Vex enemies.
is with the explosive perk applied to Hive enemies.
one is without explosive applied to the Hive.
is without explosive applied to the Vex.
And finally is with explosive applied to the Vex.
In summary, explosive rounds are a detriment to your overall dps with Fatebringer, except when you are fighting Vex enemies. In that scenario you can significantly increase the dps of your Fatebringer with explosive rounds equipped.
Edit: I have also been informed that it will apply the same damage bonus as it does the Vex against other enemy classes. so maybe it's really just up in the air xD

1 OdpowiedźExplosive rounds suck ass.

1 OdpowiedźI don't use explosive damage because it will occasionally rob me of the explosive critical.

I just think that the enemies have different defense values, Cabal having the highest.

2 OdpowiedziI think Vex have a certain gameplay mechanic to them, do we even know if Outlaw works on them? I haven't had time to look.

6 OdpowiedziI never use explosive rounds, would rather have 13 in the chamber.
-
5 OdpowiedziI didn't think anyone actually used Explosive Rounds on the Fatebringer. It really messes with Firefly.

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika StevenMcBurn: 5/15/2015 12:00:41 PMA lot mobs have multiple hitboxes which is what you're seeing I'm guessing. So the explosive part of the round might hit more than one hit box vs just a single one. For instance, vex have a hitbox on their head even though you don't do bonus damage to their head, simply because the head only has so much health before it blows up and the body just goes all crazy. Any of the "tanks" in game, spider tank or the guy in the tank on the valus strike are good examples of this. If you shoot an explosive round at one of the sides you'll hit all 3 boxes on that side and the middle box, but if you shoot a round at the middle you'll hit all 6 boxes on the side and the middle box, changing the damage you do significantly.

4 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika I Try you Cry: 5/15/2015 6:24:19 AMYour Hive videos display damages of: ER: 1004+502=1506 Non ER: 1505 Some basic stuff for you here, 1506>1505. Considering ER's yield more damage on body shots it's likely your overall damage (Firefly excluded) will be higher over the course of a raid/daily/etc because none of us are landing Precision damage 100% of the time.
In summary, explosive rounds are a detriment to your overall dps with Fatebringer, except when you are fighting Vex enemies.
I have little idea what you're talking about here considering it doesn't effect dps in a negative fashion. I also have no idea why in your Vex video you decided to test damage against an enemy with damage reduction(?) applied to it.
Fatebringer deals inconsistent damage with the explosive rounds perk equipped.
In your first video ER dealt 502 damage all three times. wut? ER deal the same amount of damage to Fallen and Hive and more damage to Cabal and Vex. double wut? Perhaps I've missed something, but I think it's more likely you've confused yourself. If it's indeed my feel free to explain why I'm lost. PS, nice blinking.

4 OdpowiedziFatebringer is known to be glitchy with firefly and explosive rounds on at the same time. The secondary explosion from explosive rounds won't count as a critical hit and firefly won't activate

1 OdpowiedźExplosive rounds are buggy with a lot of guns perks, not just fatebringer. The word of crota perk doesn't work at all if you use them
-
6 OdpowiedziExplosive rounds doesn't increase overall damage to a single enemy, it just adds a small AOE
