Give your reasons below.
Also is it socially acceptable to describe someone as black these days?
-edit-
Idris Elba is strongly linked to be the next bond
You'll recognise him from pacific rim and Thor

He's a very good actor. That being said, It would feel really forced and blatantly racist to be honest... "Let's give a role that's always been written and portrayed as a British white dude to a black man, because we feel bad!" that's horrible... If I were a dude and if I were black I honestly wouldn't take the role, i'm not going to take a role out of hollywood's pity agenda.. I'd feel extremely disrespectful that they were choosing me because I was black. If they ever tried to cast a new Mace Windu for some reason and chose a white dude i'd have the same reaction... Man do I wish people understood the meaning of equality and being one human race ...

No, because James Bond has always been white. If they want to add a black protagonist just give him a different name. He can keep the 007 since it's only a codename.

8 Odpowiedzi34% said no... Wtf is wrong with you people? Does skin color really make that much of a difference to a character?? This forum is so damn toxic. Smh
-
5 OdpowiedziSure I would. James Bond is just a code name after all, several agents have used it.

1 OdpowiedźNo. And not because I am racist, but because he is already an established character. I wouldn't want a white person portraying a previously black character either.
-
I'm personally against it. James Bond is a British white man, and I'd prefer it to stay that way. To me, it's like a scenario in which they make a new Pulp Fiction movie, and making Samuel L. Jackson's role a white man. Or giving Donkey from shrek a white man's voice. It just doesn't work that way.

2 OdpowiedziNo. My reason, James Bond is a fictional character, always depicted as a white male. How does a guy just switch race? It's illogical and I wouldn't acknowledge a black James Bond. Now you could make a spinoff easily, an agent to take Bond's place, who could easily be black, that would be acceptable.

5 OdpowiedziJamal Bond.

As long as he suits the character I couldn't give a shit about whatever the color of his skin is.
-
HELL NO I -blam!-ING HATE DIRTY PORCH MONKEYS.... Nah but hes been white so i think it would just make sense to keep him like that but whatever

7 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Camaztle: 5/18/2015 2:57:12 PMJust like how Jesus was allegedly tan but artists portray "the perfect being" as white. No going back now. It'll be too strange and unfamiliar. People don't like that.

Edytowany przez użytkownika SpiderMan Two: 5/18/2015 2:58:34 PMCasting black people into roles like this is always done simply because they are black, and they are trying to be diverse for the sake of being diverse. Sometimes, characters need to be left alone. Also, yes it is perfectly okay to call black people black. They call themselves that.
-
2 OdpowiedziIt would be the first bond where bond dies since the black guy always dies.

Why not!?

It just breaks character so as a result it could be a detriment to the company makin money and lose a mass of fans... Also if Idris is playing James Bond then Michael Ceras is Shaq in next movie.
-
I'm black and I say no. I'm not ready for this.
-
It would be like Blade being white. They're already established.
-
If they explained it as a different bond then yes. If they did what they did with Annie, no. Annie was a girl (most likely of Irish descent) with red hair and fair skin in the original comic.

The character is white, so it would be pretty strange for him to suddenly become black.
-
It's a classic why change it?
-
hell no, I don't want a black James Bond, what's wrong with you guys?
-
He's a male British actor, let be in one. And if they go with the whole 007 is not one person but code names for a series of person, throwing a black one in there makes the idea seem a lot more cool.

No, I'm black and am bored of that crap. Just cause it worked for Nick Fury does not mean it will always work. Black Johnny Storm......No!!! Besides how is meant to do anything undercover, ain't no way peeps would believe a bro is called St John Smythe lol Shortest bond movie ever......cause the bro always dies first. Stick a fork in, I'm done :)
