I used to steal instruction manuals from Sega Master System games so I could make an informed purchase decision. Those were the days.

-
I also remember when the game cover art in no way depicted what the gameplay was about.

3 OdpowiedziHell yea man! Unless you played it at a friend's house, cover art and backing were THE hook on checking out a game. Great times and some amazing games back then! Remember blowing on the back of NES CARTRIDGES trying to get the things to read? Lol
-
There's a lot to be said for buying a game without seeing any footage or reading articles that give away spoilers
-
All I want is preorder because I'm lazy but the rest can go
-
Yes, I remember being 15
-
I miss they days going into the store looking at the back and saying yup that's a game I would like to play.
-
Remember when some friends could come over and play a game? In person?
-
6 OdpowiedziAnyone else remember the little booklet in the case of the game that told you how to play??

10 OdpowiedziI miss when people could enjoy a game without critiquing it like they have some sort of checklist. Games used to just be...well...fun. Now people can only enjoy a game of it runs at a certain frame rate, has a certain number of pixels, or is "innovative." (a word many people throw around like it's the holy grail.) Now people try to make me feel guilty for enjoying the games I do.

7 OdpowiedziShort list of Games I'd never heard of before buying them based on the merits of their covers. Earthworm Jim-Sega Genesis Elder Scrolls Morrowind-Xbox Grandia 2- Sega Dreamcast

-
Yes because I was that much more impressed when I got it rather than disappointed or doubting it because negative Nancy's can do nothing but post negativity even if it was the greatest game of all time
-
Yes. I miss it incredibly.
-
Yes sir. You sound like you preach what I am selling lol.
-
I used to do that when I had a PS3 / Xbox360 it was fun.
-
1 OdpowiedźI remember buying gaming magazines c.98 solely for the demos and cheat codes. The demos used to be so good that I rarely had to buy games
-
3 OdpowiedziThat was horrible and fun Buying a game you know nothing about and it might suck or be good
-
4 OdpowiedziI remember buying an N64 game where you shot alien bugs because the cover was cool and god was it horrible. Overall, I think how they do it now is better. Though on the other hand, I'm also a far more intelligent consumer than I was when I was 12.

1 OdpowiedźHype for the NX (potentially) going back to Cartridge based games.
-
1 OdpowiedźI think Fallout 4's approach was fine. Bethesda had hidden Fallout 4 for almost 4 years. They announced just a couple of months ago they announced the game and they said it comes out this year.
