1) There is no 6 player PvE content in the upcoming expansion. --For many, the pinnacle of Destiny gameplay is to form a tight knit group of Guardians with similar experience and temperament who have been forged in the fires of wipes, bugs and boneheaded moments in the Raid. You become a well oiled machine only to find out that the machine will have no place to operate during the House of Wolves.
2)People have no faith whatsoever in non Raid PvE content at a higher level. No one turns on Destiny hoping to do Eris Morn bounties and that mission again. These are things you suffer through in order to fill your Vault and make sure you're all loaded out for the Raid. While I personally found the Dark Below missions to be more interesting than most of the vanilla missions, the quests and bounties for Eris Morn were a boring chore. Even though we've gotten good at killing Omnigul super fast (thanks full auto Crash!), the end of that strike makes us groan when its a Nightfall. The idea that the next expansion relies on these activities is terrifying.
3)We've all given up on the story. When Bungie says "3 story missions", we know that this doesn't mean 3 mission where you learn about the world, the situation, make decisions and grow as a character. This is just kill stuff with negligible voice over spouting terrible exposition that details events we don't care about. STORY means change, growth and character arcs! Not just information, events and lore. Most of the story in Destiny has become what your team does in the Raid, and how that gameplay brought you all to where you are now. Without the Raid, people are not sure where they're getting their stories from.
The Prison of Elders might be one of the most super fun things ever, but it doesn't change the fact that we are getting objectively less content. For high level play, the DLC is taking an unequivocal step backwards, because having 6vE>NOT having 6vE. It is irrelevant how much 3vE evolves, because 3vE has been so lacking that evolution was necessary anyway.
House of Wolves was going to be an automatic purchase, even if I wasn't that into it, because I just couldn't let my clan down like that. Now I'll wait and see, because as Bungie themselves have said, 3vE requires much less of an investment than the Raid.

Yeah. We created websites, threads and groups surrounding having a party of 6 and now what? And as for the story. Grimoire content is great. But to just have voice overs for the story - I barely pay attention to what that dinklebot says. So many big names for some of the "characters" and for what? 2-3 lines.

Just give me a PvP world in an '06 style Runescape Wilderness setup.

Bumping everything in this post

You took the point, and used it. Good job.

3 OdpowiedziFunny thing is we still don't know enough about prison of elders to determine if it will benefit new or casual players. For all we know they could choose to not include matchmaking again and the lfg forums would just be filled with "looking for two for prison of elders, must be 32 with Gjallarhorn"
-
You are forgetting that the arena will be different every week.

19 OdpowiedziThey postponed HOW cause the raid was not finished. Am I the only one that went back and actually looked at what they said when they postponed HOW?
-
i would rather have a level cap increase and a tdb quality dlc every 3 months with hard dropping halfway through it, than the best arena/horde mode the mind could even imagine every six. just me, though

1 OdpowiedźWhile i agree with most of this one thing to consider is simply that the raid maybe wasn't finished If that's the case instead of giving us nothing we got PoE; now the question becomes is PoE a worthy substitute and is it worth $20? Only time will tell on that What I do know is that Crotas End was a huge disappointment compared to VoG. It had the slightest of creative design elements but essentially amounted to hang back and snipe. What PoE is going to do is force us into the thick of it during end game content. Where they fail in unique gameplay mechanics I hope they will make up in rock solid gunplay, which is what the game is most consistently good at I suppose what I'm getting at is while I am disappointed in no raid im happy it isn't a half assed one and we still need to wait and see on PoE but I'm approaching it optimistically

9 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Smith5084: 4/16/2015 8:09:25 PMThe lack of a 6 person format is what gets me... There is literally nothing for my normal raid group to do as a team for the foreseeable future... That's frustrating. Especially when taking into account the amount of time that it took to put a competent regular group together...
-
Because bungie is a joke?
-
3 OdpowiedziBecause too many people can't be bothered to put together a six man. Bungie made no raid LFG in game system. They noticed raids consisting of 2-5 people since crota and they have zero xp in this field so......make it up as you go?
-
The butthurt is strong with this one, Yoda.
-
2 OdpowiedziDid they say permission of elders was only going to be 3 player fire teams?
-
2 Odpowiedzi#1 is the problem. 3 people just isn't enough.

Excellent points and very well put.
-
Perfect. You just summed all the hate up in one post. You sir are awesome.
-
Your first point is the only reason I'm a little disappointed there is no raid. If giving Bungie extra time means we get another quality fun raid like the VoG... well... I'm all for that. The Crota raid seems very rushed and small compared to the VoG.
-
I hope bungie read this To be honest only bungie could nerf a raid into an arena and call it progress
-
2 OdpowiedziI think it's nice that they are making a game mode that falls in between strikes and raids. Strikes are so quick and easy and raids can be super long so hopefully this is going to be a good middle ground

It's true. We don't know what POE will be. I have many thoughts on it, but too much to explain. I made a video of my predictions of POE. Check it out and let me know what you think. Make sure to stay tuned for the second half.
-
This is very well put. I would also like to add a point as to why I believe the 6vE content was removed. It is being too much effort for them to keep up maintenence of it. The 3vE will obviously be less complex and easier for them to test and maintain. Bungie gets to put more money in their pockets while we loose out on the content we have grown to accept and enjoy. We won't find out for sure exactly what the 3vE is untill later but I would bet a large sum of money this to be true.
-
Well put. I am honestly not all that upset about the raid. I just want to see the original storyline expand after the black garden. And not through grimoire!
-
Bungie said they thought long and hard and decided to release the raid later. This seems like they did intend to release a raid for the house of wolves. So...if people are upset, that is their right. PVP terds.
