1) There is no 6 player PvE content in the upcoming expansion. --For many, the pinnacle of Destiny gameplay is to form a tight knit group of Guardians with similar experience and temperament who have been forged in the fires of wipes, bugs and boneheaded moments in the Raid. You become a well oiled machine only to find out that the machine will have no place to operate during the House of Wolves.
2)People have no faith whatsoever in non Raid PvE content at a higher level. No one turns on Destiny hoping to do Eris Morn bounties and that mission again. These are things you suffer through in order to fill your Vault and make sure you're all loaded out for the Raid. While I personally found the Dark Below missions to be more interesting than most of the vanilla missions, the quests and bounties for Eris Morn were a boring chore. Even though we've gotten good at killing Omnigul super fast (thanks full auto Crash!), the end of that strike makes us groan when its a Nightfall. The idea that the next expansion relies on these activities is terrifying.
3)We've all given up on the story. When Bungie says "3 story missions", we know that this doesn't mean 3 mission where you learn about the world, the situation, make decisions and grow as a character. This is just kill stuff with negligible voice over spouting terrible exposition that details events we don't care about. STORY means change, growth and character arcs! Not just information, events and lore. Most of the story in Destiny has become what your team does in the Raid, and how that gameplay brought you all to where you are now. Without the Raid, people are not sure where they're getting their stories from.
The Prison of Elders might be one of the most super fun things ever, but it doesn't change the fact that we are getting objectively less content. For high level play, the DLC is taking an unequivocal step backwards, because having 6vE>NOT having 6vE. It is irrelevant how much 3vE evolves, because 3vE has been so lacking that evolution was necessary anyway.
House of Wolves was going to be an automatic purchase, even if I wasn't that into it, because I just couldn't let my clan down like that. Now I'll wait and see, because as Bungie themselves have said, 3vE requires much less of an investment than the Raid.

#1, I'm in a great clan and love playing with all of my buddies, now each group is cut in half. With sucks

Edytowany przez użytkownika nuvoSol: 5/19/2015 3:05:30 PM6vE is a joke given the current game dynamics . The 3vE came about due to the constant whining about Crota (which can be soloed with a bit of practice) and VOG can be run with two guardian's. These where supposed to be challenging "Team" event Instead they are now a well mapped timable pattern . My last raid we barely spoke about the raid other than to chose sword bearer . Over the last few days few could deny the riotous fun we have while groups of three/six while farming. Then the inevitable verbal bashing one of your clan/friends got after "I've got this guys..." followed by "Guardian Down" This I feel will continue into the PoE ( and back to farming!) Destiny is a wash out from a story (like most modern "epic" games) - It will just be about interesting as we clear thru fallen etc. Few of us are invested in the story rather than the friends we have and the fact every one else has a galley ( :P ) >Sol

I really agree with your first point! My team has really grown as players since TDB dropped... now we have no 6 person raid... lame. I also agree, TDB and HoW should have been free to owners of vanilla game, not charged for it... lets see if we can blow throught eh content in one day. If so, poor Destiny will get DESTROYED by game journalists.

Raids suck ass for most people over 15 who don't want to spend their time being insulted by children. I can imagine that for the first people to run the raid, exploring unchartered territory it was epic. Even your first run with a team who knows what they are doing is fun. But 5+ times it just gets tedious doing the same things to try to get some decent gear. Last weekend I finally managed to join a group to help me through my first attempt at crota, and every time I ask what I should be doing the answer was "just wipe and you'll spawn in next area".

2 Odpowiedzithey wanted a raid so can be carried - if is 2 or 3 good players then rest can tag along and get same chance at loot. Maybe should do like Crucible - best players of the 6 get stuff - hahaha - THEN THEY WOULD NOT COME ALONG hahahah. Now with POE - no deadweight so these ones will have to look hard for people that want to wipe a lot in favor of being online buddies!

8 OdpowiedziI think Bungie made a HUGE mistake by calling TDB and maybe even HoW expansion packs. I see so many posts confusing expansion and DLC. If anyone actually looked at those two descriptions they are not the same. Either people just got stupid or they have been tricked by these game companies. No one can justify TDB was equivalent to an expansion pass (very large additional content). TDB was a DLC (scant additional content). The content amount cannot be categorized as an expansion. Expectations were high but Bungie was the one to label it as an expansion pack not DLC. They are to blame not the gamers or Activision. We will soon see if HoW fits the expansion pack definition but as far as I have seen, it still falls short.

Idk about anyone else but I'm exited

2 OdpowiedziIll give you a tl;dr Because people feel "hardcore" and "badass" to say they raid. By taking out the raid they no longer feel l337

3 OdpowiedziHere is your thought process: Raid in TDB, not in HOW 3 new TDB missions, 5 new HOW missions 1strike in TDB and HOW Prison of elders in HOW, not TDB new social space in HOW, not TDB actual new weapons in HOW, Reskins in TDB trials of Osiris in HOW, no new game mode in TDB 2 new factions that give actual armor and weapons in HOW, Eros morn in TDB obviously the dark below has more content! Oh wait...

2 OdpowiedziYES.. EVERYONE LET THE HATE FLOW WITHIN YOU

2 OdpowiedziThere's 5 missions and 3 quests in this dlc, I'm actually rather impressed, I know the story is nothing to dabble over but they're getting better and the new Grimoire is amazing from what I've read so far.

Change people to "me" and then this post would be accurate. But FYIBTW, a lot of people are more excited for PoE than another broken glitch-fest of cheesage.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika CharlesHustle: 5/18/2015 7:05:00 PMI am pretty sure that if our consoles could handle a 6-player team AND have enough Environmental factors to keep the Arena challenging then they probably would have made it for 6 people. They would have to basically double the amount of enemies that will be spawning in. Also factor in all of the projectiles and everything that would have to be accounted for in processing. It could probably be done, but then you woulf likely run into some serious lag.

5 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Smug Saber: 5/18/2015 9:11:49 AMI agree on some points, but honestly I just think some people are mad that they won't be able to run through and "cheese" it, then boast about rewards they did little for. And I for one am glad there is a 3 player end game mode, sounds pretty intense. 6 man teams could be frustrating at times and I'm glad its stepping back a little. I think this DLC is looking very promising, and in a console game that has more content than most others, getting mad because they didn't do what you personally want is pretty dumb, and before anyone says "most players would rather have a raid" do you honestly think the forum population reflects the game at all? even a fraction? Just take the extra content, people dont moan about other game Dlc that adds very little for the same price. Also, since you can play several modes of PoE (32, 34, 35) you can take turns and play with all of your raid crew

1 Odpowiedź1. They won't have the same thing to cheese each week. 2. They are terrible at crucible so don't want to play ToO.

4 OdpowiedziDon't look at the spoiler below
Quicksilver dies at the end
1 OdpowiedźLess content? Boy oh boy, because its not a six man raid its automaticly less content? Are your retarded?
-
If this was for fireteams of 6 (option maybe?) then I would gladly welcome the PoE but now this just becomes one less game mode I can play with all of my friends at the same time.
-
3 OdpowiedziThe real reason is there isn't cheese on the menu :P

Destiny's story currently: crota has been destroyed. We are now so well off that we will send our best and strongest guardians to fight against captured enemies in a prison. I guess we no longer need to worry about the other alien races trying to wipe us out
