A simple and fair solution to Thorn
Simple, alter its exotic DOT perk.
The DOT perk will become akin to Luck in the Chamber with DOT on top of it. I propose that TWO lucky rounds have the poison effect applied to them while the rest well be normal projectiles.
If this is applied, it will be a soft nerf to the poison effect abuse in the crucible and the weapon will also still be viable in PVE due to people spending more rounds into high health bosses/enemies ensuring the poison lucky rounds will proc.

Mag increased from 6 to 9 Reload speed increased by a fair bit And I'm told, but I have my doubts as to the truth of it given it already had perfect balance, that its stability was buffed (personally I think what happened is people gave up on it before getting perfect balance pre-buff, and then after the buff add PB and claim its stability was buffed) The damage however, along with the DoT, was [b]exactly the same[/b] And the general playerbase considered it trash. The buff it got? Did nothing but make it easier to use. Now, before the buff, the "accidental" DoT nerf from 7 per tick to 3 per tick just before one IrB. The gun was useless. I'd actually done fairly well with it up to that point, it was my main PvP weapon. It was hard to use, and I enjoyed the challenge of mastering it. And then they nerfed it, and it. was. unusable. I tried, and tried, but the fact of the matter was, without the DoT exactly where it is, the [b]gun is trash[/b]. Another point, do you know what I most commonly hear people say its great for? For doing the postmortem bounty because it's great at getting postmortem kills. ... ... ... If it was so badly OP it wouldn't be so good at getting you Postmortems. Do you know what it really is? Fricking annoying to die to. And the problem with a gun that's fricking annoying to die to, is that you take notice of deaths to that weapon far more than any other weapon. You could get killed by Shingen-E 15 times in a match, get killed by Thorn 5 times, and you'll come rage on the forums about Thorn being OP and everyone using nothing but Thorn. You can go against a team where only a single opponent has it, but you'll rage about how the whole team used it. I've played with people who did exactly that. "The whole effing other team is using X OP weapon!!" I check. It's one guy. I watch the kill ticker. He dies to an even mix of other players, but he only rages when its the guy with X OP weapon. It's called Confirmation Bias And it means, basically, that you see what you [b]want or expect to see[/b]. I outgun it frequently with various guns, and I frequently outgun other guns with it. The Thorn is not OP.

I've out gunned thorn many times if you get headshoted twice then he deserves the kill crits aren't the easiest thing to get, just stop complaining I'm sick of pvpers whining the -blam!-s over pvers that just want a good handcannon especially ones that can't get hawkmoon like me and all Xbox players

The DOT should end when the player dies, problem solved.

It's not OP. If someone can land two headshots, you're screwed anyway! Seriously, people that complain like this give PvP players a bad name.

3 OdpowiedziWhy nerf it? Its one of the weapons in the game you can actually "earn" and it is worth the time and effort. We all see what happened to auto rifles and whats about to happen to special weapons do you really want that to happen to handcannons also? I dont play alot of pvp but when i do i love using Thorn to drop someone rushing with me a shotgun because they only use shotguns or watching the DoT take down a fusion rifle camper. I love a good balanced pvp game but i dont come to Destiny for a serious PvP experience. If you want that go to Halo or Counter Strike.

If exotics or op then what's the point of having them? They should just make them rare with funny names. You whinny little kids and your stupid k/d, nobody cares its a game.

I think the problem isn't that Thorn is op, I think the problem is they have nerfed everything else into oblivion, it seems op in comparison to how it used to be. Before you never saw Thorn because SUROS could out kill everything, and if the SUROS perk proc'd it would help you survive the DoT. And you could fusion rifle someone from half a map away. And shotguns were sniper rifles. So maybe, instead of nerfing something again to cater to the whiners, they could put stuff back the way it was as far as primaries go, and people can stfu because their SUROS fusion shot-regime can't run a team into the ground anymore.

If anything could change it would be the way DOT works, perhaps make it so the DOT depends on the distance between you and your target. If your target uses thorn and hits you and runs away, depending on how far they are away depends how much damage you take. If you kill your target the DOT ends. I don't think it needs to change though it's not a massive issue at the moment.

Or it could just stay the same and you could get one too. I dont play crucible much anymore but did tonight with my friends and I still got killed plenty. Its not an easy weapon to get so it should be a cut above the rest

I'd like the dot to not be able to kill, leaving the target at the minimum health so you always have to hit the target with another bullet to kill

Thorn should be BUFF to carry more ammo..instead of current 9 bullets in the chamber. :)

If you pick you fight carefully you can beat any gun just stay in you weapons range. Scout rifles and auto rifles and snipers will beat the Thorn and since the nerf on the handguns is a lot easier. I'm a handgun user myself close and middle range is were they do best. So no on the nerf.
