I'm done defending 31's
So plain and simple, the 31's from 2 months ago are not the same as the ones today. I cringe every time I join Crota HM raid group off the forums. I usually see 2-3 31's and possibly a 30 who are trying to get carried through. I'm not the best player but I can hold my own because being a 32 gives you a little room for error. No matter how good you THINK you are, a well placed boomer shot is taking you down. It's the same story everytime. So if you're a 31, don't get offended when someone kicks you, they are just trying to save their sanity.
Edit: Ok, I guess I should clarify some things.
1. If you have two 32's but are trying to run your third character who happens to be a 31, you're fine. I'm talking about 31's with less than 10 normal completions.
2. Getting smoked by a boomer is a rare occurrence but it does happen. It happens more often with low levels.
3. Obviously my post refers to the past. I have done more than my share of teaching and carrying, probably more than most who have replied to this post. This wasn't just one bad run and now I'm slamming every 31.
4. If you are lfg in the forums on hard mode, please at least have the decency to tell people you are a lower level. This way an awkward silence followed by a return to orbit doesn't happen.

If you're 31 and can stay alive while contributing, then I have no problem with it at all. If you're 31 and die constantly, not understand the strategy (and not take orders on how to do it), or not have a good launcher (and do poorly with it), then don't whine about being kicked "because you are a 31." I mean I'd kick a 32 if he was doing poorly constantly. As long as you are good at what you're doing, then I have no issue with you, no matter what level. If you are on Crota Hard and don't have friends to carry you, don't expect anybody and everybody to carry you. We're just trying to get this crap done as quickly as possible.

1 OdpowiedźI've only done Crota hard once as s 31 and that's because my buddies asked me to. Just wait until your 32 like the rest of us did.

31s are fine. Play a little nicer with others and have a little patience. Played with 2 noobs last night and a level 30 on crota hard. Just have to explain a few things and they will give it their best. We did fine.

I can see both sides, and I don't say that to be a fence sitter. There is the side of the 31 needing to do it to get the gear to be a 31. There are also many totally competent 31s out there, and some clangers. I will not comment on my own performance except to say id never call myself amazing, or useless but think I can hold my own. Having said that, I am grateful to the 32s who have raided with me and yes, helped!!! Then you have the other 'angle', some don't like you for doing but it's a personal choice I took. I did not want to be a burden to anyone so I decided to go down the IB route to get 32. Once I was there that extra level does make the difference. I can now do it as a 32, get the raid gear, level it and happy days. Good luck to all though

9 OdpowiedziLol stupid people still think this? I'm a day 1 vet check my chars cause I have new gear I need to be carried? No I have saved my teams countless times. Yes I'm doing less DMG but I'll still do more than my part in the raid I refuse to be carried I'll do anything that I can that I know won't be suicide so I'm not a burden. So stop with these ignorant claims without knowing all of the player base

The "veteran" 32 we asked to be our sixth started fooling about at Crota and keep blaming us when he died. He would died because the fool wouldn't fall back in time and Crota would smash him. To be honest I'm not even sure I want to do a second try on CE. CE wasn't hard, I just had more fun in VoG.

27 OdpowiedziI couldn't give a -blam!- if I get kicked for being a 31. I know i could probably do just as much in the raid as the elite 32's. Not my fault the rng will not drop the items I need #imoverit

I don't necessarily mind taking some 31"s through the raid on hard, though I will agree that they can sometimes make it harder on the rest of the group. It really depends, honestly. If it is late at night and Im just trying to get through the raid in a timely manner, I will try to keep the fireteam as all 32's. The success rate does seem to increase. However, any other time I will usually accept 2 31's. As for myself, I didn't attempt hardmode until I reached level 32. It sucked, however honestly it's not that hard unless RNG really hates you. If you are a 31 and stuck as a 31, I recommend taking advantage of any opportunity yo get 36 light gear. This means when the Iron Banner comes around, take advantage of the opportunity and get some gaurenteed armor. Two pieces each time. I got 32 with gloves and boots from IB, chest from Crota, and an exotic helm. Then I worked for the crota gloves, boots, and helmet. Bungie likes to give us opportunities to advance, even if we are stuck. If you are too new to have participated in an Iron Banner event, then I suggest patience, you haven't been at the grind all that long.

1 OdpowiedźOh please. I did a ton of Crota raids where I was a level 10 and was the only one who knew what was going on. I never died and had to kill most of the enemies myself. Moreover, since I have Gjallahorn, guess who was making Crota kneel every time? I also cured a few of my teammates' terminal illnesses and gave a few thousand dollars to charity in that raid too, all while still playing. In the end my teammates were so bad that I had to down Crota, sword him, tank the Oversoul, get the second down, and finish Crota off myself. At least all that helped me get to level 11 at the end.

3 OdpowiedziI couldn't care less if there are level 31s in the fire team for hard mode. All that means is they will have to work harder than level 32s. Big deal. If they can't pay attention or follow rules then kick them. At least give them a chance though. All of us were 31 at some point, stop being an elitist.

The very first time I beat Crota hard was as part of a 5-man fire team. I was one of two 31s with three 32s. Didn't near death once. Must depend on the team.

Ok at 46 completions I give you some merit. However, I cannot remember during any of my time has a 31 been a liability. Can't get in and out of the ogre room is tougher I agree but I don't see a disproportionate amount of 31's being the cause. Agree with you on a lot of this I do, but at 31 it might only be experience level that I check before I join the group. Check for # of completions first and then 31 after. But I was a carried 26 thru nightfalls, a carried 28 through Crota, and at one point a carried 31 through hard. I hear you but give people a shot. With YOUR experience and level, why not help bring others along? Then soon enough with people like you sharing and teaching we are all the better for it. Best of luck man.

Had a random group of all 32s run the entire stage In just over 30 min. We weren't trying for a speed run either. God only knows how fast we coulda done it trying.
