Edit: originally posted before matching on the weekly*
*the options mean you get to run it normal or with matchmaking enabled (many folks are missing that point)
------------------------------------
Myself- I'm all for the idea of matchmaking for these things..
But I know that there is a group of people out there who don't want the weekly nightfall or raids to be matchmaking.
-I don't completely understand why folks wouldn't want this? -after all. . I'd assume you could still run it as a regular team..
..only conclusion I can comprehend is: the players who've done it already. . Want to keep it like it was when they did it..
-are there any players who haven't done these events- that still don't want matchmaking?
Please enlighten me on this issue.
..because it would be nice to have that little bit of extra stuff to do (as a one man show)
What are your thoughts on this?
-------------
After a thousand replies it's clear. The people want options.
--------------
After two thousand replies, the evidence is overwhelming. Folks would support matchmaking- if it equipped with the appropriate options.
I would like to see you guys take some time to consider what options you think would be suitable for the raids specifically.
I've read every post and replied to most of them and this is what I've seen so far.
-Matchmaking or fire team
-Team size select (1-6) players
-Fire team lockout (stop others from joining)
-Language select / mic enabled
-Team vote to kick
-level select
-Number of completes
Also.. need to cap the amount of times one can complete it.. (once day ect)
Feel free to build upon this list- as I will continue to view and keep tabs on what you guys want.
*checkpoints need some attention in the idea department so if you Wana go off on that topic- feel fee.
* matchmaking lobbies or similar things I often see as suggested methods to get this done as an alternative to matchmaking

3 OdpowiedziIf there was matchmaking in raids here is what would happen: -afk players who get free rewards -horrible communication between players without mics -new players who don't know what to do (this isn't a bad thing, its bad in this situation as there is bad communication, you can't teach them)
-
3 Odpowiedzisame reason as last night when i ran the weekly heroic. too many people AFK or dont use their mics. We have Destiny LFG for a reason and there are so many guardians out there willing to help. Myself included.

1 OdpowiedźPlayers need to talk to complete a raid and if u want to start at a certain cp. so no matchmaking
-
1 Odpowiedźto be honest I just think it should be make your own team if it's not brooken why fix it
-
As long as it's an option, who cares? I'll bring a fire team of friends or clanmates or people I've done stuff with 100 times with success/fun/communication. While the matchmakers find a team that isn't cohesive and where people bicker and throw insults at each other. It's fine either way. I don't mind it as an option. Shit, I would probably do matchmaking for the challenge and experience! So yeah, cool with me.
-
I wish people knew the difference between: Match making In game looking for group And would push for the appropriate one.

Edytowany przez użytkownika General_Nonsence: 9/3/2015 4:04:44 PMI have a post going into detail about why I'm against it which I will find and quote after maintenance, basically. I want matchmaking however the community's current idea of "make it a load of borderline non-functional shit, and optional" is not a winner. optional is not an excuse for releasing a load of shit. get it right or don't do it at all. no matter how "optional", it will still pollute the water supply for the rest of us.
-
Because elimination. Lol go in solo and find two level 26's that go 0-18 on your team. Same with raids and nightfalls. That would be HORRIBLE.
-
I wouldn't care about matchmaking if it was 100% optional, that being said I wouldn't use or recommend it to anyone.
-
If they add it they should make it optional
-
9 OdpowiedziI was so disappointed back when they added matchmaking to weeklies

Got no problem with it.

1 Odpowiedźill never ever use it, but why in gods name ppl is against it i dont know

2 OdpowiedziFire team lockout and team vote to kick would make this game better. Sometimes I'm ok with people randomly joining my fire team, other times it's irritating when I don't want to be bothered.

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Optimus96: 9/3/2015 3:40:05 PMComplainers. They are the reason why I'm don't support matchmaking - even optional. Raids are easy as hell, but when you get a party full of people who don't know what they are doing and no one talks, that is when it gets difficult. And when things get difficult, people usual whine. And when people whine...I'm pretty sure we all know what happens. Now, with this being said, I am not against Nigthfall matchmaking, because Nigthfalls can be easy as hell sometimes, but Raids are a different story. There is a reason why Raids are 6 people and other content is just 3. If you really want to play endgame content, but don't anyone who plays the game, join a clan on this site. Bungie is trying to push clans, because it's pretty much their version of matchmaking. But, instead of matching with random people every time, you know who you're going to play with every week.

5 OdpowiedziNightfall maybe, but not raids. Strikes are cookie cutter, kill enemies and progress. Communication helps immensely but isn't mandatory. Raids on the other hand are very dependant on communication and team work. Imagine getting matched with 5 people who don't have mics. It would be horrible.
-
1 OdpowiedźSee, all of those requested options is the exact reason why I don't campaign for matchmaking to be implemented. Bungie isnt going to add all those modifiers, and doing so would likely cause many issues on the back end of the game (it would definitely require a player-initiated query system to be programmed into the game...that's not a small feat). Also, I want the option to go into events solo; thats one of the first things I realized was messed up about the auto matchmaking for weeklys. I just think its much better/easier for Bungie to implement a simple way for players to communicate to others when they are LFG or LFM, and for which activities they want to do. They could make it a simple text prompt that floats above your guardians head for all to see (just like the name and lvl). Imagine running past a guardian in the Tower and seeing "LFG: VoG Hard" above their head (and visible in their character screen)...very simple yet it accomplishes a lot. Do that and leave the rest to us players, we'll make it work. As long as we arent forced to go to outside websites or send multiple messages to individual strangers just to team up it'd be a leap in the right direction. I've always maintained that simple, forced-on matchmaking is not the best idea to request from Bungie.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Quaddity: 9/3/2015 3:26:09 PMI thought I wanted matchmaking for nightfall but after being matched up with morons (who were at least playing badly until they bailed) on the weekly heroic strike a couple times this morning I don't think I want it anymore. Easier to just go solo if none of my friends are on.
-
1 OdpowiedźThere should be an in game feature where you can post what you want to do. Like it'll pop up above your name in the tower so you can we others who who want to nightfall or raid
-
3 OdpowiedziThe player base is the biggest reason I'm against matchmaking in almost any activity. When I que up for a strike and 9 out of 10 times deal with someone who is "AFK", what reason do I have to think that the same won't happen in higher tier activities? Reason I put AFK in quote is because these people are not usually AFK. Go up to them and smack them and they move instantly.. Controller in hand doing who knows what else just making sure they don't actually have to concentrate on the game. If only they realized that by doing that they're just extending gameplay time for all involved. It's really pathetic.
-
I don't like the cap amount idea for completions. I go on the forums and swordbear for people who need one just for fun and those who need help. That would prevent me from doing what I like to do and prevent me from helping others.
-
1 OdpowiedźWhy do you need it? Develope a network of good players that you can play with regularly let it be?
-
1 OdpowiedźIt should have been ** OPTIONAL ** from the very begining. I love the fact that the Weekly has matchmaking, it allows me to run it when Iam ready and not feel like I have to jump on the forums Tuesday night for fear that by thursday no one will want or need to run it anymore.
-
2 OdpowiedziMy guess is that match making for raids is being tested through court of oryx. The game gives you hints on what you need to do. Its just like the narrator in DC Universe online raids. Raids are only when you aer either unprepared, or dont know what to do. By the time you reach a tier three court you will be familiar with the new mechanics, and most importantly youll get to watch someone else do it which is a confidence booster.

2 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika KayOsS882: 9/3/2015 3:06:28 PMI honestly think there should be an easier way to talk to people than messaging them. Have a dedicated place in the tower where when you come up to a guardian and hit the "interact" button, you automatically connect to them via mic. That way you can talk to them directly and instantly to form a fireteam for raids or PvP. Or when youre patrolling you can hit interact with any guardian and that instantly receive a prompt live to join conversation. If not they can cancel or walk away. I jut hate that I have to go to a separate screen to initiate an invite or accept an invite.
