Edit: originally posted before matching on the weekly*
*the options mean you get to run it normal or with matchmaking enabled (many folks are missing that point)
------------------------------------
Myself- I'm all for the idea of matchmaking for these things..
But I know that there is a group of people out there who don't want the weekly nightfall or raids to be matchmaking.
-I don't completely understand why folks wouldn't want this? -after all. . I'd assume you could still run it as a regular team..
..only conclusion I can comprehend is: the players who've done it already. . Want to keep it like it was when they did it..
-are there any players who haven't done these events- that still don't want matchmaking?
Please enlighten me on this issue.
..because it would be nice to have that little bit of extra stuff to do (as a one man show)
What are your thoughts on this?
-------------
After a thousand replies it's clear. The people want options.
--------------
After two thousand replies, the evidence is overwhelming. Folks would support matchmaking- if it equipped with the appropriate options.
I would like to see you guys take some time to consider what options you think would be suitable for the raids specifically.
I've read every post and replied to most of them and this is what I've seen so far.
-Matchmaking or fire team
-Team size select (1-6) players
-Fire team lockout (stop others from joining)
-Language select / mic enabled
-Team vote to kick
-level select
-Number of completes
Also.. need to cap the amount of times one can complete it.. (once day ect)
Feel free to build upon this list- as I will continue to view and keep tabs on what you guys want.
*checkpoints need some attention in the idea department so if you Wana go off on that topic- feel fee.
* matchmaking lobbies or similar things I often see as suggested methods to get this done as an alternative to matchmaking

If it was optional that would be great, I wouldn't use itbut people would... if it was forced like the weekly heroic i don't want it. Once in awhile i like to run solo so do alot of others...

10 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika R merc G: 9/3/2015 4:17:16 PMMatchmaking is designed to quickly pair players for easy content, not intelligently pair players for difficult content. It simply doesn't have the features to enable players who use it to succeed. Hopefully the changes in TTK, such as activities having a "recommended light level", will enable matchmaking for more activities, but the communication requirements in raids will still put them out of reach for most people unwilling to use mics. Edit: Keep in mind that any filtering added to the matchmaking system increases queue times. They would need to implement an "expected wait time" feature to enable players to choose an activity that has a reasonable queue time. The biggest flaw remains how players would be replaced if they are kicked by a vote, bail, or are checkpoint hopping.

12 OdpowiedziI disagree with mandatory matchmaking, I don't care if it's optional.

5 OdpowiedziIf it's anything like matching for weeklies, F*** THAT. Who wants to be FORCED to carry scrubs, noobs, sitters, griefers, squeakers, and other shitters through end-game activities that they can't or won't contribute to? As is, I'm no longer ALLOWED to solo the weekly. If I want to do it now I'll have to carry two scrubs. If everything in the game were similarly-communistic I would just quit.

1 Odpowiedźthere are enough people with bad experiences with match making that It's probably not the best idea, in game LFG.. now that I would get behind. I don't want to have to get out my phone, or laptop to go find a a group that is looking right now. Dungeons and Dragons Online had a decent in game LFG where you could set up pretty much for what you were looking for. I'm not really out to join a clan, I just moved to XBone from PS3 a few months ago, so my friends list is short, As such I haven't completed any of the the raids, took a random request, we tried, it ended badly for VOG,. Now should the urge strike me one night, I'd love to be able to find a group looking for a noob to fill a spot on their raid team without having to "leave the game"* (meaning I don't want to have to grab and or monitor another device to find a willing group), and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Hence these requests for raid/nightfall that seem to pop up every couple weeks.
-
I don't think optional could hurt, I always thought it would cooll to have beacons that you could set above your player in the tower so people would know you were looking...moves the whole lfg system in the game. the raids don't appears to be built with matchmaking in mind so it's definitely a hard sell.
-
Nightfall yep raids big no
-
I think matchmaking for NF would be good. For raids or higher level POE, not so much. Although I would still LFG for groups rather then match make, matchmaking isn't a good idea for raids. The reason being is there would be a lot of people AFK at the beginning or throughout the raids without any care, people would be leaving a lot more rather than staying if it takes to on long and also because there are plenty of times while matchmaking for strikes I ended up being spawned into the very end of the boss fight and not having to do anything and end up getting rewards.

1 OdpowiedźJust use LFG please
-
3 OdpowiedziHorrible idea. No mikes, afk, trolls ruining games, can't kick them. It's Just not worth it
-
Opt in ok, I'll never use it. Too many AFK'ers, don't want to carry people through. People don't care what they're meant to do and ruin it for the others. People with no mic's
how many negatives do you need??
2 Odpowiedzi-blam!- nightfall/raid matchmaking,I don't want to play with dumb-blam!-s that doesn't know shit
-
2 OdpowiedziI am arguing against that. I dont want noobs on my team or if anyone slacks i wont be able to kick them.
-
1 OdpowiedźWhat if people are abusing 'vote to kick'? They see you don't have Ghorn, low grimoire, or just don't like you so they kick you. I'm not saying matchmaking shouldn't happen, it just has so many issues currently I'd feel bad for people who had to use it for raids.
-
5 OdpowiedziMaybe a matchmaking lobby, special area that isn't the tower that everyone goes to find raid buddies
-
1 OdpowiedźBecause Bungie doesn't know what "Optional" means.
-
1 Odpowiedźi can say make it optional but id never use it id just hit the forums and find a team like ive been doing for the past year and have no complaints from it either.
-
1 Odpowiedź1. Trolls 2. Maybe you want to do the raid/nightfall solo or with a small group. 3. AFK players 4. Inexperienced players Matchmaking would be alright if it was it was optional, but I can't foresee Bungie making matchmaking required as with weekly strikes.

1 OdpowiedźEdytowany przez użytkownika Mute 000: 9/3/2015 10:37:54 PMRaids... just not a good idea/won't work. 6 person team. Need tight communication. Nightfall...I'm not sure why they don't POE 32,34,35..I'm not sure why they don't It should be optional for Nightfall and all of POE. Would be another way to meet people on top of things. Honestly, there should just be a LFG/LFM type feature @ the Tower instances.
-
1 OdpowiedźOptional matchmaking doesn't work for raids and here's why: >Raids are meant for teams that can communicate effictively and know what to do. >Troll groups (A group of 4+ enters matchmaking and decides to screw around while the other 2 are legitimately trying to do the raid). Two possible outcomes to this: Either the legitimate raiders can't kick any of the trollers from the game as they are outnumbered, or the troll group kicks them in the middle of the raid. Either way, not easy to get around. >LFG is what you're looking for. There is no need to add optional matchmaking when you have a system that works just fine. >The only meaningful raid will be King's Fall, and from the looks of it, will require a TEAM rather than a rag-tag group via matchmaking or possibly even LFG.
-
1 OdpowiedźIt has to be optional
-
1 OdpowiedźIf it was optional i would be fine with it. The one good thing about destinys matchmaking is that it puts the same levels together. A 25 won't be paired with 34s. If matchmaking does come, low levels can't join in the hopes of being carried.
-
3 OdpowiedziMatchmaking for raids specifically is a bad idea. You need strong coordination and communication to succeed in a raid, which is something you don't get in matchmaking.
-
3 OdpowiedziIf there was matchmaking in raids here is what would happen: -afk players who get free rewards -horrible communication between players without mics -new players who don't know what to do (this isn't a bad thing, its bad in this situation as there is bad communication, you can't teach them)
