About last gen holding back vault space, and now literally every new gen player thinks that everything Wrong with the game is last gens fault now. I mean all he said was vault space. Don't assume. If destiny was only on new gen, I guarantee you there would be just as many glitches and as many complaints. So chillax. And no, bungie isn't cutting off last gen from dlc in destiny. We payed for the whole game just like new gen players and deserve the same rights.
Edit #1. I don't think people are getting what I'm saying. What I mean by a lot of this is that is Bungie wanted to make destiny better than it is than they would have made it new gen only. But they didn't. So therefore they need to support destiny on all systems until at least all the dlc's are out. I've seen things where people post that destiny should leave off old gen systems from the new dlc's. that is rediculous considering we payed for everything just like new gen players and we deserve the same dlc's.
Edit #2. Yes I agree that destiny should leave off old gen...but only in destiny 2. If they don't then destiny can't grow to its full potential.
Edit #3. So what I get from half of y'all that old gen players should get ripped off and not get dlc's like new gen players.
Edit #4. Don't worry I will be moving to Xbone, but I'm gonna finish destiny on 360 since that's what I bought it on.
Edit #5. For you new gen players, if you don't like that old gen is "holding back destiny" then you should wait for destiny 2.

I like how no one agrees with DeeJ about anything until they actually blame someone and everyone pulls out their pitchforks haha

you realize this was being argued about long before the recent update don't you?
-
6 OdpowiedziUnfortunately the xbone runs worse than the 360. Also it's alot less user friendly

8 Odpowiedzihey...jokes on the current gen players....im enjoying my ps3 to its max potential while the next gen isnt at the max yet

3 OdpowiedziEdytowany przez użytkownika Lucius Aelius: 3/28/2015 9:11:10 PMFor the record, Bungie is in no way obligated to continue providing DLC for anyone, current gen or old, the stuff they already charged us money for they have to give us but everything after HoW is completely up in the air, legally they could stop supporting the game entirely on both generations of systems and there would be no legal recourse for any of us to do anything about it. Of course that's not about to happen and they'll most likely keep supporting Destiny on Old Gen until Destiny 2, but have no illusions that Bungie could absolutely stop supporting it any time they want for any reason they want, you paid for the game (and DLC until HoW) but you haven't paid for anything else so they're not obligated to give you anything else. DLC's come out all the time where they exclude certain platforms even though people bought the game on those platforms, and while people may bitch that it's unfair, legally it's completely above board. Happened with ME3 I believe where they excluded the Wii U from DLC even though they game was sold on Wii U, people bitched but there was nothing they could do beyond that.

1 OdpowiedźI would have expected the company spokesman to realize how people might react to a statement like that. Espicially seeing as how hes fluent in euphemisms and knows how to be as vague as possible when explaining problems that the company bears blame. But then again maybe that's how he intended it. If his was to shift the blame from bungie to old gen players then it worked out perfectly for them. Instead of being upset with the company that the update took so long and seemed to be such a low priority especially next to cheese melting patches, everyone seems to be too busy being mad at old gen players. Personally I don't buy it. I'm not a coder but I find it really hard to beleive that the reason it took so long was purely because of the old gen hardware. The weaker harderware may have been the cause but I'm extremely skeptical that it took months to come up with the solution of removing comparison function on old gen. My guess is that the idea just got shelved for a while or that they were saving it to soften the blow of an unwanted update( like the heavy ammo loss fix was used to overshadow the 101 gun nerfs patch.)

They didn't claim the vault space was limited by the older generation, they claimed the older generation was limited by the number of items that can be displayed on screen at any one time. They did not explain why they ignored suggestions for a tabbed vault with more gear categories that would have reduced the number of simultaneously displayed items, increased total storage space, and enabled better organization of items, like keeping shaders and emblems together while separating out ammo synths and telemetries. The 'solution' they chose was to leave the vault interface exactly the same but cram (a few) more items onto the screen until the consoles could not handle more. Bungie made a fascinating little solar system, but they keep coming up with bizarre interpretations of player feedback.

5 OdpowiedziWell it's the one time that DEEJ didn't lie. They need to unplug PS3 and Xbox for good and allow us to have the game we were promised

I personally think it has nothing to do with last gen but that's just my opinion. I just get the feeling that was said to put the blame somewhere else. I have quite a few games for the PS3 that when you go into the inventory you would hit R1 to go to a weapons screen then again for a clothing screen and then again for a mats screen. You can't tell me that could not be done with this game? I call BULLSHIT Deej!!! One other thing as long as Bungie is trapped in a contract with Activision and the old gen consoles are still up and running expect Destiny to be on both until it's absolutely necessary to make the jump to next gen consoles. Not everyone can afford the next gen consoles and I'm sorry to say that probably 3/4 of the people playing Destiny are most likey on old gen consoles still and as long as it's playable on both Activision will not take the chance of losing any amount of revenue from this game. As far as people saying it's because of the old gen consoles, well I play on the PS4 and I still have some of the same problems that I have on my PS3.

I've actually been questioning the old gen for a while now. Wondering if they were the reason we can't blow ships out of the sky. If they're the reason we can't have ship warfare. If they're the reason why a lot of the content featured in the late ViDocs was cut because of a lack of ability to impliment such amazing things onto both the old and new. Out with the old, in with the new. #Destiny24NG

Entitled Dbag.

It's not just the vault space. And this isn't a new thing. All games released since current gen consoles launched that are on both are hampered by the limitations of last gen.
-
2 OdpowiedziNot related but, Mass Effect 4 will be for new gen because od the old gen handicap. Something about old gen not allowing them to do everything they wanted.
-
I find this incredibly hard to believe. It sounds more like a convenient excuse for Bungie to use the last gen as a scapegoat for their own incompetence. They could probably easily double vault space, but choose not to because they enjoy having total control over everything players do in Destiny.
-
You'll only find complainers, people who don't pay attention or self proclaimed professionals in these forums.
-
I felt last gen has held it back from the beginning, a lot of us have. It's just now that we have a sort of confirmation, it's tomd rip bungie a new one lol.
-
I'm curious how people can afford a smartphone/computer, high speed internet, electricity and Destiny, but they can't afford a new console. To me, it's not so much that last-gen is holding current gen back. Bungie is trying to keep the game the same across all four platforms(except for the playstation timed exclusives and graphical fidelity.) If the newer consoles can do more then use that extra power.
-
This is exactly why he posted it. Bungie/Activision wants the community to turn on each other to give them more time to work on stuff that they're behind on instead of expecting the stuff to be done. Not to mention they figure maybe they can guilt gamers into buying new systems and new copies of Destiny to boost sales. Nothing gets published by someone working for Bungie without the PR department okaying it, not after everyone saw the social media meltdown that Bioware had after Mass Effect 3.

10 OdpowiedziIt's more than vault space. They already said that the reason the game is smaller, and the reason there is no cross-gen play (Xbone plays with 360/PS3 plays with PS4) is because last gen couldn't handle.
-
I mean no... Everyone paid for the retail price of their disc copy, and maybe ever for the season pass.. However if future DLC's came out that were not available for old gen, that would be fine; they did not pay for that.. It's not owed to them.
-
I'm glad they made the game available on so many systems, it gives more people the chance to play.
