Global Warming...
I was walking with a friend and we were talking about cars. So then we got to the [u][i]Telsa[/i][/u], a energy efficient car, he then stated that he'd never drive anything that's not powered by gasoline. I then countered his stupidity by saying that the world is and will have to become energy efficient to continue. A few minutes later into our argument he says [b]Global Warming Is A Scam To Buy Energy Efficient Items[/b]
So I've come to OffTopic to get answers.
Is Global Warming real?

Decades ago scientists were worried about global cooling. They even suggested that we melt part of the polar ice caps to warm up the earth. Global warming is just a fad.

Well, your friend is stupid. Even if it is a scam to buy energy efficient items, those items are more efficient, which normally means cheaper to operate. That means your friend wants to pay more to be wasteful, just so he can be wasteful

I'm too stupid to believe global warming, or even the California drought for that matter. I firmly believe that they are scare tactics being used just to raise prices, or sell a product. I only believe they are scare tactics when it is something I disagree with. However, when it comes to things that I can get behind, like too many illegal immigrants in the country, I dismiss the possibility of lying politicians.

1 OdpowiedźI seems real, the only question is whether or not we are effecting the rate at which it happens. Seems we go through cycles (global warming to ice age) and back. We just don't have enough proof yet. If it does happen, it won't be for thousands of years.
