I love this game even though sometimes it doesn't love me back... -_- but I do love it.

I think that Destiny is a great game, but it has downfalls. People focus on the negatives of everything. Do the high points outshine the bad? The reviewers sure think so.

Rant mode: [b]Activated[/b]. Ok. If there is one thing this game excels at - it's a good shooter. If that's enough for you, I can understand why you love it. However, I didn't buy this game because I wanted a good shooter. Some people bought the game because Bungie sold them on the dynamic, living, breathing world. They sold them on the prospect of a deep and intricate story of humanity surviving, against all odds in which they could immerse themselves in the role of a character who played a meaningful part in it. They sold them on the idea that if they for any reason got bored with the beaten path, if they didn't feel like spending the majority of their time shooting waves of aliens in the face that day, they could veer off and randomly find their own adventures out in the wild or somewhere out in space and play the way they wanted to play. The idea that I could do these things in an FPS was intriguing but by no means was the FPS factor the selling point for me. What I got instead felt so... Superficial, controlled, and watered down. I wasn't expecting a full-blown MMO but damn... There is no way I can immerse myself in the role of my character. He does the same exact thing every freaking day, several times a day! How am I supposed to feel accomplished when the game doesn't even try to give the illusion that I vanquished my foes permanently? Your path is incredibly linear, virtually zero exploration, nothing you do seems to have any meaningful impact on the universe... It feels like you're playing in a box where the creators are trying to fool you into believing your world is bigger than it is. I mean, obviously, that's how every game works but never before has it felt so... obvious. Now, I've seen many people say "you shouldn't have fell for the hype". Since when has false advertisement been an excusable offense where the blame falls on the consumer who went out and bought the product? Is that what the gaming industry has sunk to? Expect deceit? It's like gamers willingly bend over and take it in the ass. Anyone who has the balls to stand up and call BS is shamed by the rest of the community, thus enabling developers to keep cranking out things with the lowest amount of effort for the highest profit. How many highly anticipated games disappointed you at release in the past 6 months? You don't see the trend? Developers no longer have to deliver the game they advertised, they just have to fool enough people into pre-ordering and they're in the clear. No consequences because the consumer base is filled with apologists who brainwash themselves into fanatic supporters. There is no conspiracy here. There is no agenda against Destiny. The reviews are overwhelmingly negative for a good reason. People in the forums have gripes for a reason. People are already bored out of their minds in a universe that's supposed to keep us wanting to explore it for 10 years, after merely 6 months... for a reason. Hey, it's a good shooter because the mechanics are fun and satisfying to execute. No one can take that away from it. But it is [b]not[/b] a good online-only game. It's [b]not[/b] a good social platform for gamers to congregate. It's [b]not[/b] a good story driven game. It's [b]not[/b] an immersive exploration game. Everything I hoped it could be has devolved into mindlessly repeating a small pool of content with artificial, non-impactful, non creative motives. But hey, no matter what lame excuse the Vanguard gives me for going back to kill things I already thought I killed before, I know what my personal motive is - loot... Superficially difficult to obtain loot. -blam!- the conflict of the universe. -blam!- mankind. The what-ness??? Oh yeah, I forgot that ambiguous, generic evil force. Somehow, I got confused and started to believe the ultimate goal of my character was getting the Gjallarhorn. That is why overall, though I played it for many hours, trying to extract every ounce of enjoyment I could from it, I am very disappointed in it. It's only 1 out of 20 things it promised it would be. To be honest what you need to remember is that the idiots on this forum are actually just a vocal minority. They'll take any opportunity to whine and moan about every single little thing they can. It's pathetic to be honest. That being said there's also some pretty decent people on here that do raise valid points and criticisms and articulate themselves in a much more acceptable manner. Unfortunately you just have to dig through all the shit of the day to find them more often than not lol

It was fun but then after I got to lvl 20 it got super boring.
