7 OdpowiedziAs an atheist myself, I'm not a fan of bashing people's religions just for the heck of it. I believe that as long as their religion doesn't impede on mine or other peoples personal freedoms then so be it. HOWEVER when a religion like say Christianity is used as a reason to limit my rights or change my community in a negative way, then that religion will be the target of bashing. I'm not a fan that people use Christianity to impede on the rights of gays to be married. I'm not a fan that bible thumpers fight for creationism to be taught in public schools. That is NOT science, it is not based on evidence, and should not be fed in to the heads of children. I'm not a fan that people use religion as a reason not to vaccinate their kids. I'm not even going to get in to that one. If we lived in a totally secular society where religion was only relevant when it came to your personal beliefs then I would have no problem with it. However any other American will agree with me in that many of our government officials personal religous beliefs affect their political agenda, and until that isn't true I will continue to disagree with any religion, christianity included.

I think it is because there has been a lot of people who were raised to be christian are starting to open their eyes to science and see the horrors their God has let happen in the world. I guess a lot of people have lost faith and are angry and don't know what to believe in. It does get tiring that Christians act like they are the best religion in the world though. It doesn't help that you complain all the time either.

Christians get more publicity because some Christians think that they are better than others and announce it to the world that they are, thus the criticism. I'm a Christian so I'm not criticizing, just stating my opinion on the matter.

Jihad=holy war=crusade=holocaust Plus the whole repression of science for a century Then on top of that I feel that it's about time for a new religion to become popular perhaps pastafarians (if that's how you spell it) It really doesn't matter be it a flag or a god or even a book man will find its way to rally to a cause to find purpose. Because if we didn't correct, scrutinize, test, prove wrong, overthrow, denounce and come to realize that Christianity is so flawed that people have to single out every verse thats 'metaphoric' and not literal, We would risk living by the same standards during the Black Plauge. And before anyone tries to call out the Black Plague comment as 'stupid' remember that it wasn't the Christians who washed their hands and lowered transmittal rates.

Many of these changes have found some kind of way to insult some people, thus drive them away from the idea of going to church, and therefor religion entirely. Yet the bible has remained the same, despite being written over the course of 1600 years. It's a shame that churches have received a bad image, but I hope that any educated person who wants to learn does their fair amount of research from credible sources. As for criticizing, I totally hear you on that one. Many people don't even know how to rightfully live a Christian lifestyle, and yet they call themselves one. If they're being criticized then they're probably not doing something right anyway, however, he who is without sin should cast the first stone. Chances are the ones criticizing don't have their life together either. Hardly anyone does. I come from a Christian background. I don't mean to preach, but I hope this sheds some light.
